Long Xun lowered his head slightly. He was wearing a white suit, and his short hair was neatly styled with hair wax. His makeup was still the same, except for a beauty mark at the corner of his eye.
Even though he remained expressionless and silent, the oppressive atmosphere emanating from him still enveloped the entire rest room.
Just as they were about to film the male and female leads walking down the aisle, Long Xun, who had already been dressed up, looked at the church set and then at the female lead in her wedding dress, and suddenly realized something.
Before filming even started, he went straight to the director, coldly stating that he wouldn't act in that scene and that he wouldn't allow a stunt double to do it either.
Director Li had always been very grateful that Long Xun was a dedicated actor. Except for the first day when he was not very familiar with acting, he was always very obedient and had no diva-like temper at all.
But now that he sees Long Xun starting to act like a real diva—as he thinks—Director Li is truly starting to have a headache.
"My little darling, what exactly do you want? You won't act yourself, and you won't let a stunt double act either! Our show has to have an ending, right?"
Rejecting acting in a wedding scene with the female lead in public was a huge blow to Wang Yi. So many people in the crew were watching, and they all thought it was Wang Yi's fault.
Just thinking about the gossip she might encounter made Wang Yi, a young girl who had just entered the entertainment industry and was as pure as a blank sheet of paper, feel dizzy and helpless, knowing nothing but to cry.
Long Xun simply said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, I can't act."
Director Li frantically rubbed his hair: "Fine, fine, you can't act... Mr. Long, please tell me, why can't you act?"
Long Xun suddenly raised his head and stared intently at Director Li. His deep, cold, and calm voice, still devoid of emotion, said, "If he sees this, he might be sad."
"Her? Which 'her'?"
“My love,” Long Xun replied.
Director Li glared at him. To be honest, if Long Xun hadn't looked so tall and imposing, he really would have rolled up the script in his hand and smashed it over Long Xun's head.
"Are you kidding me? This is just acting, acting! It's not like we're really getting married, so why... why can't you understand? If she knew, she would understand!"
"Understanding doesn't mean you won't feel sad."
Looking at Long Xun's indifferent yet unwaveringly serious gaze, Director Li laughed angrily: "Fine, fine, very fine. Do you think that just because you've refused this scene now, there won't be any similar ones in the future? I'm just having you act in a wedding scene. What about kissing scenes and bed scenes when you become famous and want to act in movies? Are you going to refuse them all like this?"
Long Xun looked at him quietly and asked, "Unavoidable."
"As long as you're still in the entertainment industry," Director Li replied coldly.
Long Xun nodded silently, stood up, and whispered an apology to Wang Yi, who was still crying: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to have a problem with you."
Wang Yi was stunned for a moment, then sobbed and looked up blankly.
The handsome man, almost inhumanly beautiful, stood before her, a hint of apology in his dark, indifferent eyes, as he bowed slightly to her.
She heard that pleasant voice speaking softly.
"I just don't want him to be sad."
Looking at that indifferent face, Wang Yi's heart suddenly skipped a few beats.
This man is really...so gentle.
At this moment, Wang Yi suddenly felt a deep jealousy towards his unknown lover whom he had never heard of before.
He's rich, handsome, and incredibly considerate of his lover's feelings.
Being so perfectly cared for by such a man must be so wonderful, right?
Suddenly, Wang Yi stopped blaming him. If she could, Wang Yi also hoped to find a man like that, who would carefully consider her every feeling and wouldn't do things that would make her uncomfortable just because "she would understand."
I'm so envious, so envious.
So how can you blame him?
Wang Yi sobbed slightly, wiped away her tears, forced a smile, and whispered, "It's...it's okay...I...I understand..."
Long Xun turned back to Director Li, took out a checkbook from his clothes, and pulled out a pen. As he wrote on it, he said, "Director Li, thank you for your care these past few days. Here is a check for ten million. It will allow you to film this TV series again as compensation for your losses."
Director Li suddenly felt that something was wrong with the progress and couldn't help but ask, "What are you trying to do?"
Long Xun lowered his eyes, placed the signed check on the table, put away his pen and checkbook, turned to look at Director Li, and calmly said—
"I'm not filming anymore."
