Chapter 12 The Unlucky First Wife (Part Twelve)

Looking at her wristwatch, Bai Yan said, "How many people are left in the research lab? Have them all come over. I'll spend an hour explaining my future research direction to you."

Many hands make light work, and she certainly needed an assistant.

The old man gave Bai Yan a strange look; he still thought the girl was exaggerating. But since she was the one who produced the research report, the old man nodded and said, "Alright."

It only takes an hour.

Soon, all the humerus members from the research lab were brought to the conference room. Bai Yan, who was not yet thirty years old, was indeed too young compared to these white-haired old people, so much so that many people couldn't help but frown when they saw her.

"Mr. Chen, are you sure this young girl wrote that report?"

"So young? She can be my granddaughter? If she can write this report, wouldn't I have to call her teacher?" Someone looked at Bai Yan with suspicion.

Bai Yan did not respond to his questioning, but simply turned on the computer and screen mirroring, her gaze coldly lowered: "Quiet down, everyone. I know the military contacted me because of that research report, because of the general's illness, but now I have another research direction, which is what I want to show everyone."

Before anyone could question her, Bai Yan spoke first.

"Please look at this cell in the picture."

Everyone present recognized the cells in the picture; they were cancerous human tissue cells.

Bai Yan continued clicking on the video, explaining, "This is the basic structure of a targeted drug for cancerous or aging cells that I designed and constructed according to my concept; it can also be called a cell reduction solution."

The video continued playing, showing that after the cellular fluid, which is a targeted drug, seeped into the cancer cells, the cells that were originally shriveled, diseased, or even about to die actually regained their activity.

Many people stopped breathing...

Did the inactive cells return to normal?

What does this equate to?

Senescent cells regain their activity after being injected with a reducing solution, allowing the elderly to return to a youthful state and seriously ill people to resist diseases caused by cell mutation or aging.

This is almost like approaching the realm of God!

If this reducing agent could be mass-produced, wouldn't humanity be able to achieve immortality?

"My goodness!" An elderly scholar adjusted his glasses and stared longingly at the projected screen.

Those unfamiliar with the subject might think it's just a funny animation, but everyone here is an expert in this field, so how could they not see that it's actually effective and feasible?

Soon the next scene appeared: "This is a general explanation of the principle of making cell reduction solution. Now I will explain it to you."

"Please do not ask questions if you encounter any problems during the process. I do not have time to explain to irrelevant people right now. After the meeting, I will tell the people who join my experiment the specific direction of the research."

It may sound harsh, but in any industry, strength comes first, and no one disagrees with that.

As Bai Yan began her explanation, the entire conference room was completely silent except for her voice.

After Bai Yan finished explaining, she looked up at the people in the meeting and asked, "I need a team of about twenty people. Who would like to join my research?"

"I!"

"Me! Me! Me!"

"Teacher, it's me!" It was the old man who had said at the beginning that Bai Yan was old enough to be his granddaughter. He squeezed his way to the front of the crowd with great effort and looked at Bai Yan with longing.

Anyone with a modicum of sense knows that once the cell-reducing fluid is introduced, it will be a world-shaking event!

If they could achieve this level of success with Professor Bai, let alone the Nobel Prize, even Nobel himself would have to crawl out of the ground and kowtow to them.

That's a world-class honor; who wouldn't want that?

Bai Yan was originally invited by the military to treat a general who had made great contributions on the battlefield, but the general was already terminally ill.

Bai Yan's research direction happened to overlap with that general's pathology.

But who on the field cares about what's wrong with that general now?

The military personnel, however, were puzzled and asked, "Is she that capable?" How did this group of aloof old scholars suddenly become like this?

The person at the very back couldn't squeeze to the front, so all I could do was explain to him, "Amazing? Ha, amazing is an understatement!"

Do you know what she's going to do?

"For example, when you're eating hot pot, you put a piece of beef into the boiling water, and the boiling water cooks the beef. You take the beef out, add a drop of rehydration solution, and it's restored to how it looked when it was first served."

"Isn't that amazing?"

"If this is thoroughly researched, it will definitely benefit the whole world and all mankind!"

Compared to those who were only focused on research, the people sent by the military were clearly more politically aware. After asking several more questions and confirming the information was true, they immediately reported it to their superiors.

"Dispatch troops to be stationed near the research institute. From today onwards, Dr. Bai Yan's safety will be absolutely guaranteed!"

"Any request made by Dr. Bai Yan will be granted, as long as it does not violate the law."

...

"She came to see me today, she didn't come to see me today..."

"She came to see me today, she didn't come to see me today..."

Ji Bei idly plucked flower petals in the ward. It had been three days, and she hadn't come to see him during those three days... After finishing plucking the petals, Ji Bei smoothed his hair.

Or should he go find her? Anyway, he agreed to be her intern, and he's out of danger now.

Thinking of this, Ji Bei immediately jumped out of bed. He tidied himself up before going to complete the discharge procedures.
