Chapter 4 The Mother of the End Times (Part 4)

The two continued until they got off the car and arrived at the research institute.

Bai Yi'an's money had only been transferred recently, and Bai Yan only had time to order a batch of research equipment. After all, these things are inanimate, and money can buy better ones.

The researchers hadn't been fully recruited yet, and the two people who came to greet them were newly hired experimental assistants by Bai Yan.

"Hello, Ms. Lin." The assistant led Lin Rou to the laboratory and quickly prepared a syringe for drawing blood.

Then Lin Rou was led to a huge instrument in the laboratory. When the instrument scanned her whole body, Lin Rou felt a sudden stinging pain in the back of her neck, but she didn't think much of it.

About ten minutes later, she came down from the stage.

"Is my experiment for today finished?"

The assistant said, "Yes, it's over. But Miss Lin, the chip in our lab..." She wanted to inform her that the microchip had been implanted in the back of her neck and that it was best not to do anything private during the observation period.

"Shut up, my time is precious, I don't have time to listen to your nonsense."

Lin Rou dressed herself and left the laboratory with a cold expression.

Assistant: ...This person seems to be seriously ill.

Bai Yan was looking at the list of items that were still missing when Lin Rou came out of the room.

"Are you done?" Bai Yan asked.

"It's over." He couldn't help but glance at Bai Yan's jade bracelet again.

This time, however, Bai Yan raised her hand. "You've been looking at my jade bracelet the whole way. Do you really like it?" She took the jade bracelet off her wrist, and Lin Rou's breath hitched.

Bai Yan looked at her with a smile in her eyes: "You really want it?"

Lin Rou clenched her fingers. "I really like it. Can you give it to me?" Actually, Bai Yan had given her quite a few expensive things before.

If she were willing to give her this jade bracelet, perhaps she would consider reserving a place for her in her base.

"Of course not." Bai Yan smiled and quickly put the bracelet back on her wrist.

5. Our Lady of the End of the World (Part 5)

Why do you want everything?

Bai Yan asked, "Is it because you're too poor? That's why you can't resist seeing good things?"

"If you're too poor, work hard to make money. We're good friends. I wouldn't do anything to insult a friend's self-esteem."

A smile curled at the corner of her lips, and Lin Rou sensed a hint of sarcasm in it. She then looked up at Bai Yan.

It was still that beautiful face, with those dark eyes.

The Bai Yan of the past was so innocent that Lin Rou could see right through her, but now, the more she looked into those eyes, the more unfathomable they seemed, and a chill crept into her heart...

"Is there anything else?" Bai Yan asked.

"No, that's all," Lin Rou answered unconsciously.

"Then let's go." Bai Yan instructed her assistant to take the person out: "The research lab will notify you in advance if needed in the future."

Lin Rou left with her assistant, but as soon as she stepped out of the research institute, she suddenly realized something and turned back to the research lab: Why did Bai Yan treat her like this?

But the lab has access control, so she can't get in.

He wanted to call Bai Yan, but as soon as he took out his phone, he gritted his teeth, glanced in the direction of the laboratory, and thought, "How dare you look down on her?"

Then she'll steal her man!

...

Inside the laboratory, Bai Yan looked at Lin Rou's cells under the microscope. Preliminary tests showed that the cells of the superhuman were actually similar to those of a normal person, only with slightly stronger activity.

Both the superpowers and the zombie virus originated from the meteorite that landed earlier; perhaps she can find what she's looking for on that meteorite...

It is said that after the meteorite shower, the surrounding meteorites were collected and studied by government agencies, and even the lowest price for a single meteorite left on the market is in the hundreds of millions.

She has no shortage of money, but she needs to search for advanced equipment and talent, but she doesn't have that much time. There are only three months left until the end of the world as described in the book.

She had worked with government agencies before, so she knew how powerful those tools were.

The end times are not necessarily the end of the world. Throughout human history, there have been many plagues with extremely high mortality rates, such as the Black Death in Europe, smallpox in ancient times, and cholera that broke out in the 1980s.

The zombie virus is, in essence, a type of plague.

Some of these plagues have been conquered by humans, while others still lack a cure. They once reaped lives like the Grim Reaper's scythe, yet they have now disappeared, even without any countermeasures from humans.

Therefore, with prior warning, there is even less reason for the 'apocalypse' depicted in the story to occur.

“Dean,” the laboratory’s purchasing staff said to Bai Yan with some difficulty, “I have looked at the purchase list you just sent me, but there are a few instruments that are not available to private institutions like ours.”

Bai Yan slapped her forehead. "My mistake."

He then reorganized the list and gave it to the purchasing staff: "Some partners will be sending over, so please purchase the items I've marked on the list as soon as possible, as I need them in the next few days."

Bai Yan thought that her business partner should contact her soon... but before that, she needed to do something.

"Okay, Dean." The purchasing staff left with the revised list.

"Dean," the assistant said, opening the central control door, "the equipment has been set up and can be used to monitor Ms. Lin Rou's physical condition at any time."

The microchip implanted in Lin Rou's body can monitor her physical dynamics in real time and also has audiovisual and positioning functions.

She provoked Lin Rou today, and given Lin Rou's arrogant personality, she won't remain silent any longer.

"Let's begin," Bai Yan said.

...

At the same time, Lin Rou spent money on a full-body spa treatment and went to a stylist's studio that costs tens of thousands of yuan per person to design a sexy look for her that made her look mysterious and charming.
