That afternoon, Bai Yan and Zhou Shenglin arrived at the Sacred Heart Orphanage on the outskirts of the city.
Zhou Shenglin got out of the car first, then opened the car door, held up a parasol over Bai Yan's head, and quickly entered the orphanage's conference room.
Dean Chen stepped out from behind the chair: "Miss Bai, Mr. Zhou."
She noticed the expensive watch on Bai Yan's wrist and the valuable brooch on Zhou Shenglin's chest, and her smile became even more respectful.
Bai Yan held a teacup in her hands: "I'm looking for a girl named Li Xinyi. I heard she lives in your orphanage."
“It’s at our orphanage.” Director Chen nodded immediately and then made another phone call: “Old Liu, have Xinyi come to my office.”
After hanging up quickly, he asked Bai Yan, puzzled, "Miss Bai, you were looking for Li Xinyi because you wanted to sponsor her? Li Xinyi already has a sponsor."
"No," Bai Yan said lightly.
A knocking sound rang out on the door.
A voice as gentle and clear as a stream rang out: "Dean, you wanted to see me."
Bai Yan raised her eyes and looked towards the door.
The young girl wore a white dress, with delicate features and clean, clear eyes.
This is Li Xinyi, the kind and gentle female lead in the story.
"It was this Miss Bai who was looking for you," Dean Chen said.
Li Xinyi also looked at Bai Yan.
Bai Yan raised her hand, tidied a stray hair behind her ear, and the diamonds on her wristwatch sparkled slightly: "You must be Xin Yi? My name is Bai Yan, and I'm Bai Xin Mo's younger sister. My sister hasn't been feeling well lately, so I'm here to visit you on her behalf this month."
"Oh, Miss Bai isn't feeling well!" Lin Xinyi was taken aback, her expression showing concern. "Is it serious? Can I go see Miss Bai? I can stay with her if needed."
Bai Yan looked at the concerned expression on her face: "Staying at the hospital and being a caregiver is very hard work. Are you willing to do it?"
Li Xinyi looked worried: "If it weren't for Miss Bai's financial support, I wouldn't be able to study painting. She is my benefactor in this life, and I am truly willing to take care of her!"
Bai Yan chuckled and waved her hand: "The highest-level caregivers only cost a few dollars a day, we don't need that."
“I saw in the information that you study painting, and the monthly fees are expensive. My sister is hospitalized this month, so I don’t have time to deal with these things,” Bai Yan said. “There’s 200,000 yuan in this card, you can take it.”
Li Xinyi quickly declined, "No, Miss Bai, this is too much!"
"It's just a meal for me." Bai Yan chuckled and put her sunglasses back on. "Dean Chen, take me to your orphanage. I find sponsoring orphans quite interesting."
"If the cost of a few meals can help the country cultivate a good talent, then I can consider it a good deed."
Li Xinyi lowered her head, concealing her envious and resentful gaze.
Dean Chen hurriedly bowed and scraped as if inviting a god of wealth, beckoning the person over.
Only Li Xinyi and Zhou Shenglin remained in the office.
Li Xinyi secretly glanced at the man sitting on the sofa. He was wearing a black suit with an open lapel and no tie, but instead a brooch that vaguely revealed his muscular chest.
In Li Xinyi's view, a man's handsome features are just a bonus.
But when combined with the valuable brooch on Mr. Zhou's chest, this man possesses top-tier charm.
“Mr. Zhou… are you thirsty? I’ll get you some water,” Li Xinyi said.
Zhou Shenglin looked down at his phone and said calmly, "No need."
Li Xinyi still poured him a glass of water and held it with both hands as she walked up to him.
"The dean said we should be sensible. It's very impolite not to offer water to guests." Her tone was innocent and naive, which easily won the favor of some men who were used to being in a superior position.
"oops!"
Li Xinyi accidentally tripped over her right foot with her left, and ended up falling directly into Zhou Shenglin's chest, spilling the water from her cup onto him.
Zhou Shenglin pushed Li Xinyi's shoulder with one hand, looking at her with icy eyes.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Zhou, I didn't mean to. Let me wipe it for you?" Li Xinyi looked up, her eyes as innocent and pitiful as a fawn's.
Zhou Shenglin's cold gaze was fixed solely on her.
He's usually a loyal dog in front of Bai Yan, but those who have fought their way up in the business world are all big sharks.
The cold, disgusted look in his eyes sent a jolt through Li Xinyi, and the fear on her face became more genuine: "Mr. Zhou?"
Zhou Shenglin released her and said only one word: "Get out."
A look of humiliation flashed across Li Xinyi's face, and she could only turn around and quickly leave this place that had made her lose face.
After selecting several outstanding children to sponsor, Bai Yan left the orphanage with Zhou Shenglin. Zhou Shenglin hesitated for a moment, "Xiao Yan, that Li Xinyi isn't as innocent as she seems. Do you really want to sponsor her?"
Bai Yan smiled gently, her red lips curving upwards: "It was my sister who sponsored her, and I just wanted to conduct an experiment."
If the female lead and the white moonlight in the story appear together ahead of time, who will Huo Zhendong choose?
...
The following evening, after having dinner with his friends from the business world, Huo Zhendong was about to leave the hotel when he noticed out of the corner of his eye that a female student working part-time was being harassed by some thugs.
“Sir, please help me!” She walked behind Fok Chun-tung. “I am a student at Wah Kwok University. He has been following me. I’m scared.”
Huo Zhendong glanced at the thug and simply said, "Get in the car."
I drove to the bridge where the girl was, where there were many people, and just as I parked the car.
"Are you the president of the Huo Group, Huo Zhendong?" the woman asked in surprise.
Huo Zhendong frowned, thinking it was yet another woman trying to curry favor with him.
