In the evening, after the bonfire feast, the noble families returned to their camps to rest and prepare for the autumn hunt the following day.
Qin Ge and Jun Chenbi naturally shared a tent.
The tent where we camped outside, though the largest one we had, was still far from magnificent compared to the palace.
The bed was placed to one side of the tent, and the bath tub was separated from the tent by only a screen. The palace servants boiled water and brought it in to fill the tub.
Although she had shared a bed with the tyrant in the past, she had always bathed in a side hall. Now, they were in the same room, separated only by a screen that allowed light and shadow to pass through. Qin Ge couldn't help but worry that her identity would be exposed.
With her heart pounding, Qin Ge quickly finished her shower and put on her snow-white undergarments before finally letting out a sigh of relief.
A moment later, Jun Chenbi finished bathing and got into bed, his body still slightly damp.
However, when Qin Ge was embraced by the tyrant as usual, he could feel the body temperature transmitted by Jun Chenbi.
The tyrant's body temperature was always low, and his skin was cool, like cold jade. Sleeping next to him in the summer was very refreshing. Therefore, Qin Ge turned a blind eye to Jun Chenbi holding him to sleep every night and did not object.
But tonight, he's really acting strangely...
Qin Ge was slightly startled. She sat up halfway and looked at Jun Chenbi through a cluster of faint and hazy luminous pearls, asking, "Your Majesty, are you feeling unwell?"
Jun Chenbi's narrow phoenix eyes shone with an astonishing light as he stared at Qin Ge's delicate and elegant face, as beautiful as jade, and his lips, which were shaped like peach blossoms and moved slightly as he spoke. His Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily, and a hint of thirst rose in his mouth: "...Hmm."
Upon hearing Qin Ge's concerned inquiry, the Emperor gave a deep "hmm" in response.
Perhaps he didn't even hear what Qin Ge asked.
Qin Ge reached out and touched Jun Chenbi's forehead, frowning: "What exactly is wrong with Your Majesty?"
After thinking for a moment, Qin Ge said again, "Your health is of utmost importance, so let's summon the imperial physician."
If anything happens to the tyrant, it's not something he can afford to bear.
As he spoke, Qin Ge lifted the brocade quilt, preparing to get out of bed.
Jun Chenbi grabbed Qin Ge's wrist. Not only was Qin Ge unable to get off the bed, but he also fell onto the tyrant. The other party took the opportunity to pull him around the waist and press him against his chest.
Qin Ge struggled gently, "Your Majesty..."
Jun Chenbi held Qin Ge down, and as he spoke, his breath on Qin Ge's ear was hot: "My beloved consort, I'm feeling a little unwell..."
"..." Qin Ge's heart pounded, as if sensing something. She licked her lips, her voice lowering, tinged with a faint hoarseness: "I...I'll go fetch the imperial physician..."
"No need for the imperial physicians." The tyrant's gaze locked onto Qin Ge, as if leaving his prey with nowhere to escape: "The imperial physicians cannot cure me; only you can heal me."
His long, slender hand gripped the back of Qin Ge's neck, forcing him to raise his head. Then he kissed and bit Qin Ge's lips, his usually fierce voice muffled and languid: "That dog slave Xia Fuhai said deer blood wine is a good thing, and gave me a cup..."
"I feel terrible, I feel terribly unwell. Even a cold shower didn't help. My beloved consort, please help me."
This might be a rare moment when the tyrant Jun Chenbi has humbled himself.
Qin Ge felt like cursing.
Deer blood wine is highly nutritious!
Doesn't that dog emperor know what's drinkable and what's not?!
