Su Yiren frowned, "Waiter!"
The tavern waiter pursed his lips, rolled his eyes, and weighed the coin in his hand. "What's up?"
How annoying! These three people look like they've been traveling a long way, why did they have to sit in the area he's in charge of?
"What are you saying? What else can we do at your restaurant besides eat?"
"Oh, our dishes are all quite expensive. Can you afford them?"
Su Yiren's expression turned cold, while Ye Jiusheng stood up with a grin, stopping Su Yiren from making a move, "Of course I can afford it, bring out all your specialty dishes."
The waiter, his leg shaking, said impatiently, "Pay first, five taels of silver!"
"There's no reason to pay before the food even arrives!"
"I don't care, who knows if you're going to dine and dash?"
Mingyue glanced at the waiter indifferently, a bright smile curving her lips. "Alright, go to the other side."
Su Yiren snorted coldly. If this person hadn't been an ordinary person, she would never have let him off the hook.
The three of them left together, which the waiter saw as them fleeing in disarray. He sneered, "If you can't afford it, you can't afford it. What are you pretending for?"
The shopkeeper next to him had noticed what was happening, but he didn't stop them and continued to leisurely do his abacus work.
The restaurant across the hall wasn't as bustling as the one they'd just been to. There were only three tables set up in the main hall. Upon seeing Mingyue and her group, the staff immediately greeted them with smiles, "What would you like to eat?"
"Bring me one of everything on the menu," Mingyue said generously. "Go and put up a banner that says Miss Su will pay for everything at your restaurant!"
"Yes! I'll pay for everything I buy at your store, especially if the people across the street see me!"
For her, money was just a number. Su Yiren simply pulled out ten five-hundred-tael bills and slapped them in front of the shopkeeper.
The innkeeper's smile was so wide it stretched into a grin. He immediately ordered his men to carry out the order and personally led the man to the best private room on the second floor. "Please have a seat, sir. Your dishes will be here shortly!"
The curtains were drawn at the window of the private room on the second floor. Mingyue raised her hand and lifted them, looking down at the room with a detached gaze.
The manager's men acted swiftly, and the servants hung a banner high on the restaurant's signboard, attracting many people to come in.
The once deserted tavern was suddenly packed with people. The tavern across the street was alarmed and sent someone to investigate. They learned that three people had just come in and said they had booked all the customers for the day.
The tavern's kitchen was short of ingredients, so they urgently started purchasing groceries. Before they could even finish speaking, they pushed aside the waiter who was trying to stop them and went to buy groceries with a beaming smile.
The waiter looked at him strangely and pulled another person aside to ask, "Are the people who booked your tavern two young women and a short boy?"
"Yes, they look like rich young ladies out for a trip, they're not short of money."
The waiter's face turned ugly after being hit by these words, and he dared not return to the tavern even more. If the manager found out that he had driven away the God of Wealth, then he would be the one to leave!
Thinking this, he couldn't help but feel resentful towards the three people. Why did they have to dress so tattered? Especially the young boy, who was thin and sallow-faced, like a refugee fleeing a war. No wonder he looked down on him.
Hoping to get away with it, the waiter returned to the tavern, only to be slapped across the face by the furious innkeeper. "This is all your doing! Get out of here right now!"
"Shopkeeper, I didn't do it on purpose, and you just acquiesced..."
The shopkeeper gave him a gloomy look, and the waiter's voice fell silent. He covered his face and didn't dare to speak for a long time.
