"I really owe you one, just you wait."
Shang Shaofu pinched Shang Wan's chubby cheeks, then got up and left.
"Hehe, I knew Second Brother was the best!"
Shang Wan playfully stuck out her tongue. No matter what, as long as the business doesn't go bankrupt, that's all that matters.
Upon receiving the news, Jiang Shengyan rushed to the hospital. Pushing open the ward door, he saw Shang Wan engrossed in playing a game and breathed a slight sigh of relief. "Why did you suddenly get sick? Is it serious?"
"It's not serious, just a minor cold, but my brother insisted on coming to the hospital, so I had to come."
"It's good that it's not serious." Jiang Shengyan patted Shang Wan's head. "Have you eaten?"
"My second brother went to buy me some food. Have you eaten yet?"
"I was so busy at work that I forgot to eat."
Jiang Shengyan lowered his eyes, his eyes were tinged with a bluish-gray, and he looked dejected and dispirited.
Shang Wan lost her desire to play. Her heart ached uncontrollably, and she couldn't help but reach out to touch Jiang Shengyan. In novels, the male protagonist is always portrayed as spirited and confident of victory.
She had never seen the male lead so dejected before; it seemed he had really encountered a difficult situation this time.
"Don't be sad, I'll go back and talk to my older brother."
After all, they are still in a state of alliance, and the two companies have cooperation. They can't just not help, can they?
We can always talk about breaking off the engagement later.
"Thank you, Awan."
Jiang Shengyan gazed at Shang Wan with deep affection, but Shang Wan withdrew her hand and looked away in a flustered manner. "Then go eat. I'll be fine after my IV drip."
"It's okay, I'll stay here with you."
"I knew you'd say that. You're deliberately trying to make my sister feel sorry for you, aren't you? I won't give you that chance."
Carrying a bunch of things, Shang Shaofu forced his way past Jiang Shengyan and turned to Shang Wan on the bed, saying gently, "There's your favorite crab in the seafood porridge."
"Thank you, brother!"
Shang Wan opened the lid, and the aroma of seafood porridge instantly filled the air.
Shang Shaofu snorted coldly and threw two steamed buns at Jiang Shengyan. "Eat them."
"Thank you, brother."
Jiang Shengyan showed no disdain whatsoever.
Shang Shaofu glared at Jiang Shengyan through gritted teeth. If it weren't for his sister being there, would this brat even have the right to call him "brother"?
"Come out here for a second."
"Okay." Jiang Shengyan put down the steamed bun. "It's nothing. I need to talk to my brother."
Seeing Shang Wan's worried look, Shang Shaofu maintained a polite smile, without the slightest hint of bitterness. So what if that stinky man stole his sister?
The two left the ward one after the other. Shang Shaofu had a cold face. "What's the situation with the Ming family?"
Their family had heard about the deeds of Jiang and Ming to some extent. If it weren't for their younger sister, their family wouldn't care whether Jiang lived or died.
"You know Wen Qianyi, right? Awan was always worried that I would get involved with this person. To put Awan at ease, I hid him from the public eye. I didn't expect that he would catch Mingyue's eye."
Shang Shaofu frowned slightly, his deep eyes darkening. "I understand. I will handle it."
"Thank you, brother."
Jiang Shengyan always felt as if the heavens were against him, that an ant could actually catch the eye of the bright moon.
It's really annoying.
After talking for a while, the two went into the ward. Mingyue, biting into a chicken leg, calmly looked at Wen Qianyi and asked, "Shall we go?"
Wen Qianyi had mixed feelings. She had always thought she had offended someone at the banquet, but she never expected that she had offended her boss.
Moreover, she didn't even know when she had offended them, which required the Jiang and Shang families to suppress her together.
