The prince has always been the leader, standing at the forefront. He has a noble and outstanding demeanor, and seems more clear-headed than the others, not at all captivated. Hmm, it must be him.
Qi Qi cautiously swam toward Sterling.
Time was of the essence; a minute and a half had already passed during his deliberations.
The prince will wake up in a little over a minute. He's going to take him into the water. The song won't count as his singing, and Qi Qi doesn't dare to sing either, afraid of giving himself away. So taking the prince into the water probably won't earn him any points...
But Qi Qi still insisted on taking him into the water, because that's how it was written in the story!
The Little Prince of the Sea wanted to pull the human prince down into the water and enjoy his delicious meal.
If you can't sing, then drown him with your talent!
Finally, Qi Qi placed his hand on the side of the boat, less than half a meter away from the prince. This distance allowed him to see the prince's face more clearly.
Qi Qi was startled. The man was sitting on the boat, leaning against a sailor, with one hand behind his back and the other hand on the side of the boat. He looked down at Qi Qi with a cold face and no emotion in his eyes. He looked really calm. If he hadn't been so still, Qi Qi would have thought he was sober.
After hesitating for a few seconds, he tentatively extended his index finger and poked the prince's hand that was resting on the side of the boat.
It's still warm.
Hey, it didn't move!
Qi Qi's courage grew instantly. He smiled and grabbed the prince's hand.
The prince's hands were too big; my hand was only two-thirds the size of his, but that didn't matter.
Qi Qi's upper body was completely out of the water, and he reached out with his other hand to pull the prince's hand.
At that moment, before his hand could reach the other person, the other person's hot, large hand grabbed his first, held him, and then lifted him up.
A short, sharp sound: "Ah!..."
Qi Qi made a mistake and was lifted onto the boat, half of his tail still dangling from it. His chin was pressed heavily against a musket, forcing his head back. A cold voice came from behind him: "Don't move."
The system arrived just in time: [...]
A second victory! It's unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable! This time, this is like walking right into a trap.
[Prey won't wait for you to kill it. Remember to be careful and use your brain in the next world!]
It wasn't three minutes at all!
Qi Qi, who had been found by humans again, was ashamed of his own stupidity. He immediately closed his eyes and awaited judgment. The musket was cold and hurt his chin.
After waiting for half a minute, there was still no movement on him. Qi Qi opened one eye and saw that three other boats had gathered around him, and six people were staring at him without blinking.
Her large, clear, sapphire-blue eyes opened, and the mermaid's beautiful face showed panic as she looked at them helplessly.
Sterling held a gun in one hand and gripped the merman's two slender wrists with the other, his elbow braced against the merman's body, while one leg was straddled on the fish tail to prevent him from struggling.
He shot the merman as soon as he made a sound.
The skin beneath his palm felt strangely slippery. A few strands of the merman's blue hair clung awkwardly to her face as she looked at him with a mixture of confusion and fear.
How could you be so stupid? You got caught so easily. No wonder you were cannon fodder who died at the beginning of the game.
Sterling remained expressionless, while Louis rushed forward excitedly, exclaiming, "Uncle, you caught him! A merman! This is a merman?!"
"Hey, this girl is really beautiful, I've never seen anyone so..."
His gaze swept over Qi Qi, lingering for a moment on the fair and delicate area of her waist. His throat tightened, and his ears burned.
"The terrifying mermaids use their beauty to drag sailors to the bottom of the sea."
Upon hearing this, the others shared the same thought.
"Your Highness, please move a little closer, I couldn't see clearly."
A cheerful voice rang out, and with the help of the system, Qi Qi understood their language. He paused, his face instantly turning red and white, extremely embarrassed and annoyed.
Damn it, they mistook me for someone else!
He turned his head, and the gesture made it look like he was startled by the crowd and was trying to burrow into Sterling's arms.
Stirling paused for a moment.
Louis: "What should we do with him? Are there two more merfolk over there?"
"By the way, can this merman understand us?"
He looked at the merman's chin, reddened by the gun barrel pressed against it. He was surprised at how delicate the merman's skin was; he had always thought mermen had thick, tough skin.
Qi Qi heard someone asking him a question.
He remained silent, showing no intention of shattering the mermaid's persona.
"He doesn't understand."
Louis said regretfully.
"It looks too much like a human."
Jason asked, "So, should we kill him?"
The group immediately looked at Sterling.
Louis: "Don't kill him. Keep him alive and take a look. He might have some research value. He's a legendary creature."
The others did not speak.
Sterling's voice remained icy: "Your Highness, his fingernails can separate your head and neck in a second and then devour your body."
Louis didn't really feel anything from those words. His gaze fell on the merman's wrist, which was being held tightly. Her hand was so soft it was boneless, dazzlingly white, with long, slender fingers that even the tips were pink. Her nails were about four or five centimeters long and looked beautiful even without nail polish.
Sterling had already scratched two deep red marks on his wrist.
As if knowing what he was thinking, Sterling grabbed Qi Qi's hand and slid it to the side of the boat, leaving five white marks on the side.
"Wow, that's really something, I never would have guessed."
Jack handed over a seashell, his face beaming with anticipation: "Try slicing this!"
Sterling glanced at him, took his hand, and poked the shell, which shattered.
