Chapter 31 The Little Prince of the Sea (Part 5)

Qi Qi escaped from the humans, swimming angrily without uttering a word. Haiyan and Pearl were very excited and followed behind, asking what had happened.

"Qi, why did you stop us from singing? There were still six humans awake. Are you alright?"

"So humans are really that weak. We can take them down with a few songs!"

"Go back and tell the king! He'll be so happy. We'll come and kill them all tomorrow!"

Qi Qi: "..."

System: [Why aren't you saying anything?]

The merman's pouty lips formed a rounded curve. Her feigned fierceness was quite adorable, and her bright, watery blue eyes were even more endearing when she made a thoughtful and reflective gesture.

Qi Qi said somewhat dejectedly, "I won't be arrogant next time. I'll be better prepared before I go in."

The system seemed to chuckle softly: "Your time management is good, but you forgot that this is an advanced world where the plot won't wait for you to follow instructions. Characters are no longer just data; they're constantly changing. And this world may not only have you as an outsider."

Qi Qi: [Huh? You mean there are other hosts here too?]

System: [This is confidential, but you've already noticed the problem. Be more careful next time you do a task.]

Qi Qi clenched her fist and encouraged herself softly: "Thank you, everyone. I'll do my best!"

...

The underwater world at night is even more enchanting than during the day. The beautiful coral reefs illuminate the underwater world, and there are also giant octopuses with blue rings on their bodies. White, pink, orange, and blue jellyfish float on the seabed like long ribbons of light, or swim in the underwater sky like fireworks.

Qi Qi passed through this beautiful world and soon arrived at the underwater dwellings of the merfolk, where rows of beautiful houses were built by their ancestors using various seashells, conches, corals, and pearls.

The largest room in the very center is the palace of the merfolk, and the smaller rooms around it are the houses where the merfolk live.

Qi Qi watched with curiosity as the merfolk swam by. Their tails were crystal clear, mostly turquoise, with a few greenish-yellow. Purely colored tails were rare; most had tails mixed with other colors.

Therefore, Qi Qi discovered that his fishtail was not only pure blue, but also two shades brighter than other merfolk.

Not many merfolk remained from that time. Qi Qi's branch is composed of king merfolk, and due to their bloodline, they are more likely to have pure-colored scales.

After greeting the merfolk on the way, Qi Qi and Haiyan Pearl entered the palace together. At this time, a merfolk was already sitting on the most beautiful coral throne in the palace.

This mermaid's face was absolutely stunning, with deep golden eyes, seaweed-like golden hair, and a fishtail that was also a brilliant golden color. Just sitting there casually was enough to make her so beautiful that she could captivate all living beings, and her queenly aura was incomparably domineering.

There were only two mermaids in the palace. One was the queen, and the other was a handsome male mermaid with a red tail. He was incredibly beautiful. Qi Qi was momentarily blinded by the red tail, but upon closer inspection, he saw that the mermaid was also looking at him and giving him a faint smile: "Qi, you're back."

Qi Qi nodded, recalling from his memory that the fish was a merman who served as an "elder" in the merman clan, about 40 years older than the original owner of this body, and was serving as the original owner's life teacher.

Hello, Uncle Lan!

Then she rushed towards the mermaid king, Xi, on the throne.

"Mother!"

The sense of kinship from blood made Qi Qi instantly feel favorably toward this merman who was related to him.

The Mermaid King patted his head gently and said, "You're back so late, where did you go having fun again?"

Qi Qi's voice softened involuntarily, and she smiled brightly: "No, I didn't go crazy."

Remembering the fierce and complex look on the Merman King's face when he first entered, Qi Qi shook her hand: "Mother, is something troubling you?"

The Merman King concealed the worry in his eyes: "What could be troubling you? You're overthinking it. Are you hungry? Have you had dinner?"

Now, on the villain's side, Qi Qi obediently told the story: "I went to take a look at that ship."

"What?!" The Mermaid Queen's expression changed, but she quickly regained her composure before Qi Qi could look over. She pinched Qi Qi's cheek: "Where's the Seagull Pearl? Didn't we say you weren't allowed to go?! Do you know how dangerous humans are? They brought weapons! What will your mother do if something happens to you?"

Mothers all over the world are probably like this when faced with disobedient children: the more they talk, the angrier they get, and they really want to hit the disobedient child.

"I was wrong, I was wrong, I know I was wrong, Mother. I'll never go again. I was just curious. Listen to me, I saw..."

But when your child nestles obediently on your lap, looking at you with big, watery eyes, you feel helpless.

"You little rascal."

Qi Qi didn't think there was anything wrong with acting cute and charming. Anyway, anyway... who liked him acting like this? As long as he said a few nice words, it seemed like someone would be willing to pluck the stars from the sky for him.

He omitted a few details and recounted the story of how he went to see the human ship, discovered that it had crashed into the reefs, and was easily sedated by the songs of the petrel and pearl.

Fearing that the Mermaid King's mother might try to kill the protagonist again, just like in the story, Qi Qi embellished the story of the several powerful humans he encountered, while omitting the fact that he almost got captured.

"So Mother, just let them fend for themselves on the island. Please don't cause them any trouble. They're incredibly immune to the damage from the song. If you and the others get into danger, I'll be heartbroken!"
