"I was wrong, please forgive me."
hehe!
Is that possible?
Slap me and then give me a treat?
"We're even now, aren't we?" Shen Ye forced out these eight words from his throat.
Xiao Jingran was shocked, somewhat incredulous.
"The life I owe you, the harm you've done to me all this time, isn't that enough to repay you?" Shen Ye tried to compose himself. "Let me go, and we can go our separate ways and each find our own happiness."
Shen Ye watched Xiao Jingran laugh, laughing at his own foolishness and stupidity.
He can be ruthless to anyone, but he can't be ruthless to him!
The winter rain was so cold; the bone-chilling cold almost made Chen Ye lose his balance. He staggered and turned around, only to be pulled back by someone.
"impossible."
Xiao Jingran suddenly knelt in front of him, firmly grasping Shen Ye's hand. The rain was raging, and he couldn't see his expression.
"I won't let you go, because I owe you too much. Even if you hate me, I won't let you go."
"Why? I don't need your compensation, and you don't owe me anything. We're even, we're even!" Shen Ye roared, tears uncontrollably overflowing from his eyes, mingling with the rain.
Why force him?
Is it because he is a coward?
Xiao Jingran suddenly raised his head, pulled a small knife from his riding boot, put the hilt into Shen Ye's hand, and pointed the tip of the knife at himself.
"Didn't you want to settle things with me? Kill me, and we'll be even." As he spoke, he dragged Shen Ye's hand toward his chest.
“You hate me, you don’t want to forgive me, fine.” He gritted his teeth, his eyes reddening. “If you can bring yourself to kill me, I swear in the name of God, I will let you go.”
"Don't force me!" Shen Ye shouted shrilly, filled with hatred for him.
“I didn’t force you. I said I would let you go as long as you could bring yourself to do it.” He stared intently at Shen Ye. “What I owe you is far more than just this life.”
"Don't force me." Shen Ye hated him to the core.
"Without you, I would rather be dead." Xiao Jingran sneered through her tears. "If you can't bring yourself to do it, I will never let you go in this lifetime."
Why are you forcing me?
Shen Ye let out a sharp roar, the sound mingling with the thunder; he truly hated him.
"I didn't force you, I'm letting you go." The voice was sorrowful; he was probably truly driven mad.
With a fierce resolve, Shen Ye forcefully stabbed Xiao Jingran in the heart...
Blood gushed out instantly, staining the knife red, but was washed away by the rain.
Looking at Shen Ye with disbelief, he laughed, a laugh so tragically pitiful.
He suddenly collapsed to the ground, his body soaked in rainwater, stained crimson with blood—a blood that was both alluring and despairing.
Shen Ye trembled and tried to pull Xiao Jingran away, but ultimately withdrew his hand.
He deserved it; he brought it on himself!
Xiao Jingran lay there lifelessly with his eyes closed, letting the rain wash over him.
Shen Ye cried, her heart aching so much she could hardly breathe, and turned to run back to her room.
The doctor and the other people in the villa took Xiao Jingran, who was in the rain, to the hospital. Before leaving, they locked the door to prevent Shen Ye from escaping.
He sneered; apparently, after enduring the pain for a while, one becomes numb.
The next morning, the door to the room was opened, and Ye Sheng entered.
He hid in Ye Sheng's arms, but he could no longer cry. In this place, the only person who truly understood him was Ye Sheng.
After a long while, Ye Sheng finally spoke slowly, "Where do you want to go? I'll take you there."
