The agent put the purchased items on the shelf, whispered a few words in Chi Ruoyi's ear, and then left.
Chi Ruoyi remained silent, his deep eyes fixed on Shen Ye, a strange glint in them.
The ward fell into a deathly silence. Shen Ye could hear Chi Ruoyi's soft breathing and the sound of his own heart beating.
"I will do my best to provide you with resources; whether the future holds good or bad is up to fate."

"I'll give you another million."
Upon hearing this, Shen Ye was on the verge of tears.

"Who is she? A celebrity? Your first love? Your childhood sweetheart?" Shen Ye seemed intrigued. "Does she like you?"
Chi Ruoyi did not answer Shen Ye, but stared at his face with unfathomable darkness in his eyes. In that darkness, Shen Ye seemed to see a sadness that was not easily seen.
"Get some rest. I've already spoken to Director Jin about it. Your scenes will be postponed until you're discharged from the hospital."
Chi Ruoyi got up and left the ward. Shen Ye didn't know what he was going to do, but he felt a strange sadness in his heart.
