"You've listened for so long, haven't you had enough? Aren't you going to come out?" Lian Jingzhi's cold voice rang out, and Shen Ye knew he had been discovered.
He jumped off the bed, opened the door, and went out. Instantly, a long sword appeared at his neck. Lian Jingzhi was standing at the door, holding the hilt of the sword. The moment he looked up and met Shen Ye's gaze, his expression changed.
"Why is it you?" He stared at Shen Ye, his handsome face displaying a myriad of expressions, then narrowed his eyes. "Yu Changjun, what are you doing sneaking into my place in the dead of night?"
"I learned it from you! Just wanted to surprise you!" Shen Ye laughed heartlessly, moved the sword away from his neck, and walked up to him in an instant. "You're allowed to sneak into other people's houses in the middle of the night to spy, but I, the victim, am not allowed to retaliate in kind?"
"Tell me what you took from this room and hand it over!" he said in a low voice, glaring intently at Shen Ye. At this moment, Shen Ye was nothing more than a dangerous person with ulterior motives in his eyes.
Shen Ye snorted coldly and immediately threw the jade pendant he had taken from his study at him. "I only took your piece of broken jade. I don't even want it!"
"Get out! Leave here right now!" His voice was low and menacing.
"What? What if I don't?" Shen Ye laughed unrestrainedly, moving closer to him. "Your Highness, tell me, do you really hate me?"
"Stop talking nonsense and get lost!" He glared at Shen Ye, his eyes so fierce it looked like he wanted to devour him.
Clearly, Shen Ye's unusual way of visiting tonight had angered him, but Shen Ye believed that he wouldn't kill him. Because the adorable system had told him a way to stay with Lian Jingzhi.
Meeting his fierce gaze, Shen Ye defiantly said, "I'm not leaving, so what?"
Lian Jingzhi grabbed his neck, and if he had used just a little more force, he would have snapped Shen Ye's throat.
"If you kill me, you'll never get the Imperial Seal." Shen Ye managed to squeeze out these words from his throat, afraid that if he didn't speak up, Lian Jingzhi, that pervert, would really strangle him.
"What do you mean?" he shouted angrily.
"I know where the Imperial Seal is." Shen Ye met his gaze, his smile so enticing it made one want to punch him.
His eyes flashed. "Are you trying to threaten me?"
“No, I came tonight to make a deal with Your Highness.” Shen Ye looked at his hand. “If you want to find the Imperial Seal and bring the Emperor down from the throne, you must first release me.”
Shen Ye stared straight at Lian Jingzhi, not even knowing where his confidence came from.
Unexpectedly, Lian Jingzhi released his grip, his expression softening somewhat. "Tell me, what is your purpose?"
Shen Ye said with undiminished spirit, "Keep me by your side, give me certain powers, and you cannot be with Han Yunqi."
"Fine, as you wish. Now tell me where the Imperial Seal is. If you dare to lie to me, you and your sister will both..." He made a throat-slitting gesture.
"Don't rush me, I'll tell you when the time is right. I'm not stupid. What if you go back on your word and kill me to silence me now?"
"Yu Changjun, before I lose my temper a second time, quickly tell me the whereabouts of the Imperial Seal." His voice was terrifyingly gloomy.
"I'll say it again, I'm not telling you right now. If you want to kill me, go ahead. Anyway, I'm not going to tell you where the Imperial Seal is. If I die, none of you will get it." Shenye's expression was unusually serious, the ambiguous smile from before gone.
