That chilling aura lingered on Shen Ye's neck, refusing to dissipate for a long time.
He was sweating profusely with fear, barely daring to breathe, as terror overwhelmed his reason.
When people sense danger, their first reaction is to run, and Chen Ye is no exception.
He rushed to the elevator door opening button and frantically pressed the open and floor buttons, but the elevator did not stop because of his random pressing and continued to rise.
My heart skipped a beat. Where the hell could he run to if he didn't stop and open the door?
The elevator was still running, and the chill inside grew heavier and heavier. Finally, unable to bear the pressure any longer, I wet my pants. I kept pressing the buttons, still desperate, while glancing back in terror.
"Help!"
Stupid System: You're such a coward. Your husband was just trying to scare you, and you actually peed your pants. Could you be any more of a coward?
Shen Ye shouted loudly, hoping that the people in the security room would see him on the monitor and come to save him. What good could come from encountering a ghost? He would either die or be crippled.
Those two minutes in the elevator were the most unbearable two minutes of Shen Ye's life so far. Time seemed to have been slowed down at that moment, and everything was moving so slowly.
Logically speaking, he only felt a chill following him after entering the elevator; there was no reason for him to be so afraid.
But the morning's events were still vivid in his mind, making him inexplicably sensitive, and he felt that even the slightest sound or movement was suspicious.
The elevator chimed with a 'ding' as it arrived at its destination floor, and the doors slowly opened. Shen Ye assumed that someone was waiting for him outside...
It is endless darkness and ghosts.
But the moment the elevator doors opened, he froze, feeling as if a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders, as if someone had poured a bucket of cold water on him. He fell backward and collapsed inside the elevator.
People waiting outside for the elevator rushed to Chen Ye's side and helped him up: "Are you alright?"
Shen Ye was in a daze, looking completely dumbfounded. He just kept breathing in the fresh air, and no matter how others called him, he seemed not to hear them.
"Are you feeling unwell?" Before I could answer, the person asked again.
......
"Hello!"
Startled by his sudden sharp voice, Shen Ye shuddered and screamed "Ah!" before coming to his senses.
"Are you alright?" The man asked again when he saw that Shen Ye had come to his senses.
The elevator doors closed automatically after he entered, and then continued to rise toward the 18th floor that Chen Ye had pressed. As they were talking, the elevator doors opened again, and they arrived at the 18th floor.
"I'm fine." With that, Shen Ye fled the scene as if escaping a plague.
As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, Chen Ye ran all the way to his front door as if he were being chased, frantically pulling out his keys from his pants pocket and opening the door.
Because he was too impatient, the key kept failing to fit into the key slot, which made Shen Ye even more impatient.
After finally opening the door, Chen Ye darted inside.
The moment he closed the door, all the strength seemed to drain from his body. He collapsed to the ground, leaning against the door, trying to calm himself down.
He kept replaying the events of the day in his mind, and no matter how he thought about it, he was tempted to give up on the mission.
This world is too thrilling and exciting; clearly, the timid Shen Ye is not suited for this place.
As I thought about it, my eyelids became heavy, my head felt dizzy, and I really wanted to sleep.
