Chapter 576 The Farmer and the Snake (13)

Shen Ye locked himself in his room for a whole day. When he opened the door in the evening, he saw Yuan Ling still standing at the door.

Yuan Ling, like a child who had done something wrong, went over and tried to hold Shen Ye's hand.

Before she could even touch him, Shen Ye coldly flung her away. Then, with eyes full of hatred, he looked at Yuan Ling painfully and said, "Why did you change your face to approach me? You know perfectly well that I hate you, that I despise you."

Yuan Ling's throat was dry. She suddenly knelt down in front of Shen Ye and said, word by word, "I'm sorry."

"Forgive me. I was blinded by lust and did those things without considering your feelings. Do you know how guilty I feel? I don't even know how to face you. But I miss you so much, so I changed my face to be by your side, hoping to soothe the wound in your heart."

I love you, I want to be good to you, even better than you, and I want to be with you.

"But I don't want to be with you!" Shen Ye threw the wildflowers Yuan Ling had given him hard at his face, the edge of the leaves scratching a small bloody mark on his face.

The next moment, he ran into the house and began frantically packing his things.

He wanted to leave, not because he had been violated, but because he couldn't bear the thought that the person he would eventually fall in love with was the one who had forcibly violated him.

He felt he had been deceived and completely manipulated by Yuan Ling.

"If I had known back then that I would fall in love with you and be unable to live without you, I would never have been so disregard for your feelings," Yuan Ling said, kneeling outside the house, heartbroken.

Shen Ye, who was packing his things inside, paused for a moment, then packed even faster before leaving with his luggage on his back.

Yuan Ling followed silently behind him, watching him quicken his pace as he tried to shake her off. Her heart felt as if it had been ripped into pieces. This dreamlike first love, which lasted for more than two years, had ended today.

He's leaving! He's hiding!

No matter what he does, he still doesn't want him!

Yuan Ling was frustrated, but she couldn't bear to give up. She loved this man, so she didn't want to let go.

Wherever Shen Ye went, Yuan Ling followed.

He trekked through mountains and rivers, watching from afar as Shen Ye skillfully dug wild vegetables to fill his stomach, climbed trees to pick wild fruits to quench his thirst, and treated the wounds of injured birds... but he never turned around to look at him.

Shen Ye traveled a long way, thousands of kilometers away from the place that held their beautiful memories. He kept going, and no matter what dangers he encountered on the road, Yuan Ling would always come to his aid.

When there is no danger or need for help, Yuan Ling will consciously not disturb him and simply follow behind him silently.

At night, Shen Ye leaned against a tree trunk to warm himself by the fire. He could clearly see Yuan Ling not far away, staring straight at him.

Thinking back on his past two years of courtship and falling for Yuan Ling again, Shen Ye felt incredibly pathetic. How could he, starting over, still fall for a man who had violated him before?

Every day, Yuan Ling would grill wild game and force it into Chen Ye's hands for all three meals.

Shen Ye smiled bitterly, recalling the two years they had been together. Yuan Ling always did the same, giving him the best food. He felt so happy back then.

The wind was strong, and Yuan Ling was afraid that Shen Ye would get cold, so she secretly used magic to set up a barrier around him to protect him from the cold wind.

The two rested separately, not far from each other, without saying a word.

The next day, Shen Ye couldn't help but look back. Yuan Ling was about five meters away from him. When she saw him frowning, she forced a smile and said, "Don't frown, I'll leave."
