In the evening, the area outside the campus was bustling with activity as groups of students gathered together, preparing to go home.
At this moment, Lin Xiao was waiting at the classroom door for the slow-moving patient. Zong Jinze was preparing to help him into the car and take him home.
Zong Jinze wasn't incapacitated; his hand injury hadn't healed, and he needed support. He didn't know why he'd chosen him.
Lin Xiao leaned against the door. He raised an eyebrow. He hadn't originally planned to help, but the system kept brainwashing him.
"Go for it! Increase your favorability so the male lead likes you even more. Go for it!"
"Are you sure you can manage? Let me help you out. The car is a bit far outside."
Zong Jinze picked up his things and looked up, only to be met with eyes that reflected only his own image, as if he had been frozen in place.
Then he said it directly from his own mouth.
"good."
Zong family.
Grandpa Zong smiled as he looked at the girl who was pouring him water, even though he knew why she had come.
But the other person was a girl, and so well-behaved, that he couldn't bring himself to say anything hurtful.
If you found out that woman was a treacherous one, would you still be able to remain calm, sir?
"Youhan, what brings you here? You didn't even ask Jinze to pick you up."
"I heard that Brother Jinze was injured, so I came to see him in advance. I don't know if he has returned yet."
Su Youhan feigned worry, looking pitifully at her phone, clearly implying that Zong Jinze wasn't answering her calls.
"That brat, he's still not back so late. I'll teach him a lesson."
"Grandpa, maybe he's delayed again."
"Who's talking about me? What are you doing here?"
As soon as Zong Jinze pushed open the door, he saw a black figure and knew it was his grandfather, but a white figure made him frown.
"Hmph, why are you so late? You might as well come back next month. How could you make a young lady wait for you? Who is this?"
Grandpa Zong had just finished scolding his grandson when he saw him bring someone in, but he didn't notice at all.
Because his presence is somewhat low.
"Grandpa, this is Lin Xiao. He hurt me, so he needs to take care of me."
Although he didn't know why he would let someone he hated take care of him.
Su Youhan had only been there a short time and didn't know what had happened, but her hearing was good, and she heard the key words.
Jin got injured. When did that happen?
She remembered her cousin saying that as long as she agreed to let him stay away from Lin Xiao, he would have a way to get her to be with Jin.
She never lets go of anything that benefits her, and she's not afraid even if Jinze finds out, as long as she can be his woman.
The old man had a sharp eye; after a moment's scrutiny, he recognized him. No wonder he looked so familiar. It turned out to be the grandson of that old fox, Lin.
"Your surname is Lin?"
Lin Xiao pursed her lips. "Yes, why ask that question?"
"Grandpa, he just arrived and there are some things he doesn't understand. Don't make things difficult for him." Zong Jinze was getting anxious because he saw that his grandfather seemed to be deliberately making things difficult for Lin Xiao.
"It's alright, I can tell Grandpa is a good person."
"Haha, you're the first person who dares to talk to me like that. Come on, the three of you can have dinner here tonight. I'll have Aunt Zhang cook a delicious meal for you."
Su Youhan, who was standing next to the old man, glanced at Lin Xiao with jealousy. Why are you everywhere?
I was the one who stayed by Jin's side when she was a child, and you're just a commoner!
Years later, however, she realized she hadn't lost to anyone else, but to herself; saying too much was a fatal blow. Some things are better left unsaid.
