Chapter 54 The Poor Autistic Little Cat Demon's Own 15

"Who are you..."

Su Xia couldn't quite recall the other person's name, but she knew that she did know them.

"I am Gu Huaizhi, Su Xia, it's been a long time."

Gu Huaizhi extended his hand, which was adorned with a somewhat worn-out watch. The watch didn't match his meticulous attire at all, yet he exuded a gentle and polite demeanor.

At this moment, Su Xia felt a little embarrassed because she couldn't remember the other person's name, but the other person knew her name.

"haven't seen you for a long time."

She quickly shook hands with Gu Huaizhi and exchanged pleasantries. Shen Muqing noticed the strange atmosphere between them and instinctively knew something was going on.

A sales clerk came over and said, "Excuse me, ma'am or sir, this necklace is the only one left."

Gu Huaizhi spoke first: "Wrap it up."

The shop assistant turned to ask Su Xia what she thought. Su Xia was surprised that he didn't even bother to pretend, not even offering the most basic courtesy.

"Then give it to him, I'll go pick something else."

"OK."

Su Xia quickly pulled Shen Muqing to a few counters nearby.

"Mommy, didn't you really like that necklace? Why did you give it to him so easily?"

“I knew him before, so I didn’t want to compete with him.” Su Xia looked down and carefully picked out other necklaces. “This one is nice too, Qingqing, look, it suits you well.”

Shen Muqing looked down at the necklace around her neck with a helpless expression. "Mommy, you forgot I have one around my neck that I can't take off."

"Oh, then Mom will pick out a bracelet for you to wear."

The two were excitedly picking out items when, unaware, a tall figure approached.

"Su Xia, this is for you."

The person who came was Gu Huaizhi. He handed over the necklace that had just been wrapped up, and his expression was normal.

Su Xia was somewhat flattered. She and the other person hadn't seen each other for many years; the last time must have been back in college. "I can't accept this," she said.

She made excuses, her whole demeanor conveying rejection.

"Don't you like it?"

Gu Huaizhi didn't take it back, but asked Su Xia, "Which one do you like? I'll give it to you."

You can't hide the look in someone's eyes when you like them; you'll subconsciously care about their preferences and your gaze will unconsciously fall on them.

Shen Muqing observed the current situation. If Gu Huaizhi had no feelings for Su Xia, she would be willing to be punished by winning a hundred million yuan in the lottery, plus living in a luxury mansion and driving a luxury car.

"Thank you, Uncle. My mom likes it." Shen Muqing decided to help them out and took the bag from Gu Huaizhi's hand.

Gu Huaizhi's gaze fell on Shen Muqing's face. "Is this your daughter? She's very beautiful, just like you."

Shen Muqing accepted the necklace, and Su Xia thanked him, saying, "You've gone to so much trouble. I'll treat you to a meal next time."

"Okay," Gu Huaizhi said, taking out a card from his clothes. "This is my business card. You can contact me if you have any questions."

He hurriedly shoved the business card into Su Xia's hand and then quickly left.

Su Xia held the business card, completely bewildered. What a strange person.

Shen Muqing didn't miss Gu Huaizhi's awkwardness as he walked to the door, and immediately burst out laughing.

"Qingqing, what are you laughing at?"

No, I didn't laugh.

Shen Muqing's gaze lingered on the business card in Su Xia's hand: Gu Huaizhi, head of Huaixia Law Firm.

Despite the blatant implication, Su Xia was still marveling at his identity—he was actually a lawyer.

Shen Muqing couldn't help but shake his head. It seemed that someone's path was still very long. He also admired Su Xia's extraordinary insensitivity.

"Ding-dong ding-dong"

Her phone rang; it was Ji Sui calling, apparently urging them to go home.

“Mommy, we have to go back. Ji Sui called.”

"good."

Last time, Shen Muqing was severely punished for deceiving Ji Sui. Ji Sui is like an infant who hasn't been weaned yet, always clinging to her.

When Su Xia and Shen Muqing returned home, they immediately saw Ji Sui sitting seriously on the sofa. They looked at each other, wondering if they had done anything to offend him.

Ji Sui: "Little Cat, you go upstairs."

"oh"

Shen Muqing wished he could get far away from Ji Sui, leaving Su Xia alone in the same spot.

Su Xia sat on the sofa, feeling a little uneasy. But after a second, she realized that no mother was afraid of her son.

"Sweetie, is there something you want to tell Mommy?"

Su Xia poured herself a glass of water to soothe her throat before slowly asking Ji Sui.

"Ji Ming came to see me today and asked me to persuade you to get a divorce."

Ji Sui cut to the chase, "What do you think?"

"Huh?" Su Xia hadn't even reacted yet, that damned Ji Ming.

"What are you thinking, little one?"

Ji Sui: "Li, I'm with you, Mom."

Instantly, tears welled up in Su Xia's eyes. Her efforts over the past ten years had indeed not been in vain; her baby truly loved her.

“Son, you need to think this through. Mommy has nothing. If you stayed with Mommy, you might not be able to live the life you have now.”

“I have hands and feet, I can support myself, and I can support you and the kitten.”

"Baby!"

Su Xia walked over and gently hugged Ji Sui. Ji Sui didn't push her away; instead, he held her loosely.

"I will leave, but it's not the right time yet."

Su Xia explained her thoughts, and then told Ji Sui about her plans with Shen Muqing, telling him not to worry, that they would leave sooner or later.

"good."

Su Xia suddenly felt enlightened; everything was slowly getting better, and life was wonderful.

Upstairs, Shen Muqing was bored. Ji Sui's room was empty. Suddenly, she remembered Ji Sui's studio. He often stayed in the studio and must have painted a lot of pictures.

Ji Sui doesn't have the habit of locking doors, so people can freely enter and exit his room and studio.

Shen Muqing pushed open the door and walked in. The studio was very large, and there were all sorts of pictures of her, still a cat, on the walls: sleeping, eating, drinking, yawning.

She admired her lovely appearance, marveling at how beautiful she was. No wonder Ji Sui had fallen for her at first sight; she had this damned, irresistible charm.

She touched everything in the room, carefully examining each painting of herself. Ji Sui's painting skills were indeed quite good, bringing her to life.

As Shen Muqing touched the painting, she noticed a small bump on the back of it that felt rough to the touch. Without thinking much of it, she pressed it down.

A small door appeared on the right side of the studio. She wondered, could Ji Sui be hiding a secret?

She walked in with doubt, then a feeling of horror washed over her; it was terrifying.

After chatting with Su Xia, Ji Sui went to find Shen Muqing, but he couldn't find her even after looking around the room.

Some unpleasant thoughts crept into his mind; the kitten should be more obedient.

He walked slowly into the studio, only to see Shen Muqing trying to come out in a panic. Ji Sui didn't like her expression; the kitten couldn't be afraid of him.

"you..."

When Shen Muqing saw Ji Sui come in, she tried to remain calm and said, "I'm a little sleepy, I'm going to go to sleep."

She didn't even look up, her only thought was to get out.

Ji Sui blocked the door, his eyes dark and unfathomable. "It seems the kitten has discovered my secret."
