The moon hung high in the sky. Pan Yang stared at the moon for a long time. There was no problem with power outages in this world, so the streetlights were all on.
"What time is it now?" Jiang Sunan frowned. Why did this night feel so long?
"Eight o'clock." Zhou Yang glanced at the time.
"Eight o'clock?" Jiang Suonan gasped. It couldn't possibly be eight o'clock at night, which meant it was already daytime, but the sun hadn't risen yet.
Then they heard some rustling sounds. The three of them looked around warily, and within seconds they saw a large number of fist-sized insects emerge from the shadows.
A bug suddenly pounced, and Pan Yang slashed it down with his sword. The bug's blood was green and very viscous, looking rather eerie.
Then, as if triggering some mechanism, the swarm of insects pounced on the three of them like madmen.
Jiang Sunan looked at the dense swarm of insects and chopped one down with his dagger. He had to run, or he would be buried alive by these insects sooner or later.
Clearly, Pan Yang and Zhou Yang shared the same idea. The three of them exchanged a glance and immediately carved out a path in one direction.
They didn't know how long they ran, but the sound of insects behind them grew fainter and fainter, so the three of them simply found a shop and went inside.
Once inside, I realized it was a pharmacy, but the place was in a mess, as something must have happened before and many of the medications had been taken.
However, none of them were injured and they didn't need to for the time being. Jiang Suonan found a clean chair and sat down, while Pan Yang and Zhou Yang were not as particular as him and sat directly on the ground.
Jiang Sunan took a deep breath: "Should we wait until daytime before going out?"
"Hmm." Pan Yang nodded and then looked at Zhou Yang, who seemed to be thinking about something.
"What if it never lights up?" Zhou Yang's voice wasn't loud, but it sent chills down one's spine.
Pan Yang, on the other hand, seemed completely unconcerned: "Then just go out. You don't need to worry with me here."
Zhou Yang didn't reply, but simply looked up at Pan Yang. After a few seconds of eye contact, Zhou Yang looked away.
However, Zhou Yang's prediction came true. About twenty-four hours later, it still showed no sign of dawn. The three of them had no choice but to go out. But as soon as they stepped out the door, they heard a loud, booming sound, followed by a sharp scream.
"Run! Ahhh!"
Jiang Sunan stared blankly at the dense horde of monsters in the distance for a few seconds before realizing he needed to run. This world was much more difficult than before.
Soon, screams echoed from behind. Zhou Yang turned around and saw the monsters behind him frantically devouring human limbs. None of the people who had been chased were still alive.
The three of them were probably incredibly unlucky; in front of them lay a deep pit, the kind that seemed to have no end in sight. With a pit in front and monsters behind, they were truly doomed.
Jiang Sunan was panting heavily, but a smile was still on his face. He seemed to have thought of something funny and chuckled: "This world is really convenient for Godfather. See that circle of monsters at the top? The boss should be in there."
Following Jiang Suonan's gaze, Pan Yang indeed saw the circle of monsters. He could vaguely make out an even smaller monster among them, but it was difficult to get close to such a high place; one would probably have to fly to reach it.
"Be careful," Pan Yang said to Zhou Yang, then drew his Xiaoyao sword and rushed out without hesitation, stepping on the oncoming monster and leaping forward to grab the ankle of another monster.
"Damn." Although Jiang Sunan knew that Huan Yang was powerful, he couldn't help but be surprised by his agile skills. It was truly infuriating to compare people. Then he looked at Zhou Yang and said, "Don't worry, even if we die, he won't die."
“I’m not worried about him.” Zhou Yang frowned; he was just a little shocked by the man’s abilities.
"Oh, yes, yes, you weren't worried about him," Jiang Sunan replied dismissively.
Zhou Yang did not continue the argument. Although he did not know why Jiang Su Nan thought he and Huan Yang had a good relationship, he did not want to argue too much.
Suddenly, the ground shook violently, and the area of the deep pit slowly expanded, with the ground gradually collapsing. Zhou Yang and Jiang Su Nan had no choice but to walk towards the monster.
Looking at the monster not far away, Pan Yang glanced at the ground, then leaped up and swung his sword down. Xiao Yao was sent flying the moment he swung his sword.
After circling the monster once, he suddenly rushed into the monster horde. With lightning speed, Pan Yang pulled out the monster boss and stomped on it. Instantly, both the monster and Pan Yang fell to the ground.
Dust billowed up all around as the monsters charged madly toward Pan Yang, completely obscuring his figure. Zhou Yang's heart inexplicably tightened.
Before he could even worry, the ground beneath his feet suddenly gave way, and he lost his balance, plummeting downwards. Some pebbles even grazed him, but he didn't feel any fear of death.
The next second, a figure appeared in his sight. It was Huan Yang. The man jumped down without hesitation. Zhou Yang felt his breath catch in his throat. A rock suddenly hit Huan Yang on the back. Huan Yang groaned from the impact. Then he grabbed Zhou Yang's hand and pulled him into his arms.
The sudden feeling of falling made him somewhat disoriented, and he quickly lost consciousness. When he woke up again, he was lying in a clean open space. Looking up, he could see the sky. It was very deep, deep enough to kill someone from a fall, but apart from feeling a little dizzy, he didn't feel anything else.
Moreover, the area of this deep pit is still expanding. Zhou Yang shook his head and stood up. He remembered that before he came down, it was Pan Yang who protected him. Where is Pan Yang?
"You're awake." Zhou Yang looked up almost reflexively when he heard the voice. It was Jiang Sunan, whose hair was disheveled and whose clothes were covered in dust.
As if knowing what he was going to ask, Jiang Suonan continued, "Pan Yang is fine. You saw the sky, right? That's not the sky, it's another door. Pan Yang and I both feel that door is not simple, it is very likely related to returning to the real world."
Where is he?
"You two are really..." Jiang Sunan choked. He had already said that the person was fine, but the young couple was still being lovey-dovey. He shrugged: "They went to check the surrounding area. I already said he was fine."
Zhou Yang frowned and didn't say anything more. Jiang Sunan touched his nose and walked to Zhou Yang's side: "Last chance, shall we cooperate? If we can't get out of that door, we'll only have the coins. Once we have all the coins, we'll cooperate to kill him. The coins are yours, a sure profit."
Suddenly, Pan Yang's voice appeared: "Okay."
Jiang Sunan was startled and took a few steps back: "It was just a casual chat, nothing more."
Zhou Yang's gaze shifted to Pan Yang: "Your back?"
"It's alright, I won't die." Pan Yang looked nonchalant and walked to Zhou Yang's side, brushing the dust off him. "I just took a look, and the surrounding area is full of places like this. There are some doors we can try to go in through."
“Then let’s go through the door.” Jiang Sunan took a few steps forward and waved to the two of them: “Come on, come on, there’s nothing wrong with staying here.”
Pan Yang looked at Jiang Su Nan, then casually pulled Zhou Yang along and stuffed ten coins into Zhou Yang's small bag.
