Chapter 80 Survival in the Apocalypse 7

A few minutes later, the group of people were all lying on the ground groaning.

Shang Nan put his hands on his hips: "Is this all? The guns are fake. How did you manage to deceive everyone else?"

A blond-haired guy on the ground said somewhat aggrievedly, "Not everyone is as fierce as you guys."

"Where did you put the food?" Shang Bei asked.

"Food? We're out of food too." The blond-haired man's face fell instantly. "We've been starving for two days. There should be some in B City next door, but there are so many zombies that we can't possibly defeat them. Otherwise, we wouldn't be lying to people here."

The only girl on the ground finally couldn't hold back her tears and cried out, "I shouldn't have been with you. I should have listened to my mom before."

The blond-haired man panicked instantly: "Don't cry, you definitely won't starve to death. Trust me, the apocalypse will end soon. How about I take you out for hot pot then?"

To everyone's surprise, the girl cried even harder, and Pan Yang and the others sighed and chose to leave.

After all that, the group was exhausted. Back in the car, Shang Nan sighed, "If only the zombie virus hadn't broken out, Mom and Dad would definitely be here too."

As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes, but she forced herself not to let them fall.

"It's alright, I'm still here." Shang Bei's gaze softened as he gently patted Shang Nan's head.

Zhou Yang watched the two interacting and took a deep breath. Perhaps he should have stopped his teacher from the beginning, but at the time he seemed to be very curious about the so-called immortality.

“It’s not your fault,” Pan Yang suddenly said.

“I know, but back then…” Zhou Yang hesitated, but there was no going back then. The zombie virus had already broken out, and all he could do now was to research the serum as soon as possible: “Believe me, I will definitely be able to develop the serum.”

Pan Yang didn't speak; to be honest, he had some doubts about this.

001: "Please trust the hidden figure, host!!"

"I believe you." Pan Yang resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

Soon the group arrived in B City, but strangely, they didn't encounter any zombies. Instead, they felt very safe, even eerily so.

They all felt somewhat incredulous when they safely left B City with the supplies.

Then they arrived at the nearest base, C, without any problems.

However, sometimes being too lucky can lead to bad luck.

Just as the group entered, an iron cage suddenly fell from the sky. Pan Yang reacted quickly and pushed Zhou Yang out of it.

There wasn't a single person in sight at the entrance to the base.

Zhou Yang was somewhat taken aback, only to see that the entire iron cage was gleaming with an unusual light.

Shang Nan took a piece of clothing out of his backpack and threw it onto the iron cage. The clothing instantly turned to ashes.

"Superpowers." Shang Bei was the first to react, somewhat surprised.

Why are the people at Base S trapping them?

However, before they could think any further, they felt their vision blur and fainted.

When Zhou Yang woke up, he found himself in a laboratory, with his parents sitting to one side, looking at him with concern.

"Where's Pan Yang?" This was the first thing Zhou Yang said when he woke up.

Upon hearing this, Chen's mother burst into tears again.

Mr. Shen said helplessly, "We don't know either. You were brought here by Shen Yu, who has gone mad."

"What do you mean?" Zhou Yang asked, somewhat puzzled.

“Chen Yu is now the leader of Base S. Remember the group of zombies that attacked Base A? One of them was a zombie king who had developed self-awareness and was no different from a human. They reached an agreement.”

"He actually tried to research some kind of elixir of immortality."

Zhou Yang's heart sank. Suddenly, the door opened, and Shen Yu walked in casually: "You're awake."

"Where's Pan Yang!" Zhou Yang immediately looked at him warily.

"Give it to the Zombie King," Shen Yu said nonchalantly.

He and the Zombie King had already agreed that he would lead Zhou Yang to S City, and then hand over Pan Yang to the Zombie King. Although he didn't understand why the Zombie King wanted to take Pan Yang away, he felt he wouldn't lose out.

Mr. Shen, his face contorted with rage, slammed his fist on the table: "That's your brother!"

"Tsk." A sarcastic smile appeared on Shen Yu's face: "Then am I not your child? From childhood to adulthood, everyone has had to take care of Shen Panyang! Even when the zombie outbreak happened, you didn't call to ask about my safety!"

Instead, they asked how Shen Panyang was doing! Just because he's your son doesn't mean I'm not!

The father clutched his chest and slapped him across the face: "You can't let your brother die! If you're angry, throw me out!"

"Shen Yu, you're so foolish!" Mother Shen cried, pointing at Shen Yu, "If it weren't for Pan Yang's father, your father would be gone long ago."

"What do you mean?" Shen Yu stared intently at his mother.

Mr. Shen sighed, “When I was young, I was a soldier. I had a good brother who shared the same surname as me. Once, during a mission, he risked his life to save me but died himself.”

"In the end, his wife died after giving birth to their child due to depression. That child was Shen Panyang. I will feel guilty towards him for the rest of my life. You were too young to remember back then, Shen Yu, you have really disappointed me."

Seeing that the couple didn't seem to be lying, Shen Yu actually laughed out loud: "So what now? It's all your fault. Shen Panyang must die!"

His expression was contorted, his eyes filled with rage; he looked just like a madman.

“Now, all I need to do is quietly research my immortality.” Shen Yu took a deep breath and looked at Zhou Yang: “It’s time to start researching it now, isn’t it?”

Zhou Yang picked up the syringe on the table and pressed it against his neck: "Only I can research the elixir of immortality now, but if Shen Panyang dies, I will leave without hesitation, so bring Panyang back."

“Heh, bring him back.” Shen Yu looked at him and a strange smile appeared on his face: “Maybe he’s already dead. In the apocalypse, human life is as worthless as grass.”

Zhou Yang stared as he put down the syringe, and slowly said, "What about Shang Bei and Shang Nan? I want them to be my assistants."

He can't panic now; he can only do his best to ensure his own safety.

"Of course, no problem. You'd better not try anything funny." Shen Yu snorted and turned to leave.

Soon, Shang Bei and Shang Nan were taken to the laboratory, and they were delighted to see Zhou Yang.

"Where is our benefactor!" Shang Nan asked hurriedly.

Zhou Yang remained silent for a long time before speaking: "Shen Panyang was sent to the Zombie King."

"What?" Shang Nan exclaimed in surprise, looking at the middle-aged couple sitting and crying on the side.

Mother Shen covered her mouth, trying to hold back her tears: "Pan Yang, he may already be..." Before she could finish speaking, she couldn't help but burst into tears.

"..." Shang Nan was so unsteady on his feet that he sat down on the ground: "Brother, our benefactor will be alright, right? Our benefactor is so amazing."

Shang Bei fell silent. Ordinary zombies were already overwhelming, let alone the Zombie King. No matter how powerful Pan Yang was, he couldn't handle all the zombies.

Father Shen sighed and looked at the brother and sister: "Benefactor? What do you mean, our Pan Yang saved you?"

Shang Bei patted Shang Nan on the shoulder and said, "Before we came to the city, our benefactor saved us. We came to City A together, but when we were almost there, our benefactor and the army went to City S to find someone. Later, our benefactor also helped us in City A."

"You said that Fan Yang was almost in City A but then ran off to City S?" Zhou Yang looked at Shang Bei and asked, feeling as if all the blood in his body had frozen.

Why, why would Huan Yang abandon City A to go find me first? No one dared to take the risk given the situation in City A at the time. Oh right, Huan Yang almost wiped out all the zombies in City S by himself.

He'll be fine, right?

Zhou Yang felt a little weak in his legs. He leaned against the lab table and looked at his slightly trembling hands. He would be alright, he would definitely be alright.
