Chapter 287 This Assassin is a Bit Arrogant 7

"Pei Zhouyang, what do you mean by that? It's utterly treasonous!" The Emperor slammed his hand on the table and stood up, his eyes blazing with fury as he stared intently at Pei Zhouyang.

However, Pei Zhouyang's expression remained unchanged. He sneered, "Of course, as long as Your Majesty gives me the Resurrection Pill, I won't do anything wrong. Besides, I don't think I've already held a grudge against Your Majesty for my leg, have I?"

"What do you mean?" A hint of panic flashed in the Emperor's eyes, but he forced himself to remain calm and said, "Your leg injury was clearly an accident. Pei Zhouyang, isn't your speculation about me a sign of your ulterior motives?"

"Huh?" Pei Zhouyang's voice wasn't loud, but it instantly made the Emperor feel a little guilty. He looked at Pei Zhouyang cautiously and frowned: "What are you laughing at?"

"The horses that day were all chosen by the royal family, so there shouldn't be any problems." Pei Zhouyang reached out and gently tapped his wheelchair, his tone calm but seemingly threatening: "You think if I were to question all the servants from that day carefully, no, I probably wouldn't be able to find those servants."

"Your Majesty, I originally did not want to fight with you." With that, he stopped pretending and slowly stood up from his wheelchair, much to the emperor's astonishment.

"You! Your leg is healed?" The Emperor rolled his eyes. "No, you're perfectly fine! Pei Zhouyang, you're really amazing."

"Your Majesty flatters me." Pei Zhouyang walked step by step towards him, and with each step, the emperor inexplicably felt pressure. The emperor opened his mouth as if to call for someone, but Pei Zhouyang's voice came from beside him: "Your Majesty, do you think I will actually rebel?"

"You, you are threatening me!"

"It's not a threat, just a warning." Pei Zhouyang changed the subject: "So, give me the Soul-Returning Pill, it'd better be genuine, otherwise..."

As he spoke, he walked toward the wheelchair, then casually sat down, still smiling. The emperor felt a chill run down his spine and said, "Someone, bring the Resurrection Pill from the Western Regions!"

After Pei Zhouyang left, the Emperor felt a sense of relief. He had really underestimated Pei Zhouyang. He originally thought that Pei Zhouyang was no match for him, but the truth was that this man had only refrained from making a move because of the late Emperor's reputation.

When Pei Zhouyang returned, Pan Yang was lying on the soft couch looking at a picture book, while An stood not far away, staring intently at him. The whole scene exuded an indescribable eeriness.

When Pan Yang saw him return, he put down the sketchbook he was holding, and then Pei Zhouyang stuffed a box into his hand.

The box looked very exquisite. Pan Yang fumbled for it and pressed a button. Inside the box lay a dark brown pill. He lowered his head and took a sniff. It had a light herbal scent. Without hesitation, he put it in his mouth.

"Aren't you afraid that there's poison in this box?" Pei Zhouyang asked, raising an eyebrow at his expression.

"Oh." Pan Yang blinked indifferently, then calmly said, "So what?" Anyway, even if Pei Zhouyang really wanted to kill him, he would drag Zhouyang down with him. He wasn't that noble, like some kind of innocent white lotus.

Pei Zhouyang sighed softly, grabbed Huan Yang's wrist and looked at it. He saw that the blackness on his hand was fading away very slowly. It was indeed working. He breathed a sigh of relief. To be honest, he didn't know if this would work or not. It was just the only way at the moment, and he didn't know when Huan Yang would die from the poison.

But now things are alright, the poison has been cured, but he has completely broken ties with the emperor, and he probably won't have to pretend to be a subject of the emperor anymore.

Pan Yang pursed his lips. The hidden character can do great things now. The hidden character has grown up. I'm so touched. Waaah, he's truly worthy of being the person I like.

001: "..." I just want to stay silent. Damn it, if he wasn't weaker than Fan Yang, he would have given him a couple of punches.

"Did you find it in the palace?" Pan Yang asked.

Pei Zhouyang wasn't surprised. He didn't hide his presence and nodded, "It's alright. The Emperor wouldn't dare to cause me any trouble. You can rest and recuperate these days without worrying about anything."

Pan Yang nodded. He hadn't worried about it. He had just been doing things casually and without a care in the world. Then, in the middle of the night, while Pei Zhouyang was fast asleep, Pan Yang secretly slipped out.

They caught the emperor and beat him up, then issued warnings and threats, leaving the emperor with psychological trauma.

The next morning at court, Pei Zhouyang had originally planned to confront the emperor, but upon seeing the emperor's bruised and swollen face, he immediately agreed to whatever he said. Without even thinking, he knew who had done it.

After returning home from the morning court session, he saw Pan Yang sunbathing nonchalantly. He seemed to shake his head helplessly, but the smile on his face was undisguised. He simply stood up from his wheelchair, walked over, and hugged Pan Yang in his arms.

"What do you think I should do with you?" His voice was tinged with affection as he nuzzled against Pan Yang's neck, as if he were handling a precious treasure with utmost care. "I should suddenly be glad that your mission was to assassinate me." Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have met Pan Yang.

"Do you have a bit of a masochistic tendency?" Pan Yang blurted out almost without thinking. This person felt fortunate to be assassinated; what else could he be but mentally unstable?

Pei Zhouyang was silent for a moment, then looked up at Pan Yang and gently rubbed his fingers against Pan Yang's lips: "Sometimes I wonder if you are deliberately contradicting me, but that doesn't matter."

As soon as he finished speaking, he simply picked up Pan Yang and strode towards the room. Pan Yang blinked, thinking, "No, the boss can't be carried like a princess! What about the boss's dignity?!"

After that, the Emperor didn't make things too difficult for Pei Zhouyang, probably because he had really developed a psychological trauma. As for Pei Zhouyang and Pan Yang, Pan Yang inexplicably felt that Pei Zhouyang had been unhappy these past few days, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. When he was really puzzled, he asked Pei Zhouyang.

Pei Zhouyang pulled him into his arms and asked a seemingly random question: "What does Huanyang think about the day after tomorrow?"

Pan Yang was a little puzzled as to why he would ask this, and casually replied, "It's fine."

"Alright, it's settled then."

"What?"

"We'll be getting married the day after tomorrow. I've already prepared the wedding attire, and you agree that the day after tomorrow is a good date."

"The day after tomorrow?" Pan Yang blinked. "Is it going to rain the day after tomorrow? 001 Say something."

001 was speechless: "Reporting to the host, it's going to rain the night after tomorrow, so getting married during the day is not a problem."

It was speechless! To be honest, it just hoped that the host and Zhou Yang would finish everything quickly and then leave the small world so that it could have some peace and quiet. It really wanted to be alone.

Pei Zhouyang nodded, as if he had thought of something, and his tone became noticeably more cheerful: "Okay, the day after tomorrow."

"Hmm?" Why did Pan Yang feel that Pei Zhouyang's words were a bit off?
