Chapter 755 Lord of Escape 38

Xu Yuan's eyes were fixed on the bottom of the tombstone.

The area had been moved by the force of the tugging, revealing what was buried under the tombstone: a square, narrow trough.

She forcefully moved the tombstone aside, revealing the narrow groove, inside which was a small, dark box.

Song Cheng reached out to take it, but Xu Yuan stopped him.

"Watch out! We don't know what's in here yet, be careful of traps!"

"You're right!"

Song Cheng stopped what he was doing, and Xu Yuan took out a dagger from his body and carefully tapped the surface of the black box.

"Doesn't it look like a black box on an airplane?" Song Cheng frowned. Everything inside was too eerie, making it hard to breathe.

Sometimes he thought it would be more satisfying to go back up and fight Mo Yin head-on!

"A miniature version of the black box."

What do you think might be inside?

Xu Yuan looked around. "This is a cemetery. Normally, there should be a corpse or ashes under the tombstone, but..."

Song Cheng replied, "However, there are tombs for the living and tombs for the dead here, so what's buried here is definitely not a corpse or ashes!"

"Open it and you'll find out; the answer lies in these little boxes." Xu Yuan carefully pried open a clasp on the dark box with a dagger.

"Thud!"

This sound is incredibly familiar; it's the sound of many small cosmetic boxes.

The box slowly opened. There was no poison gas, no traps, and a book lay quietly inside.

The book's pages are yellowed and worn, as if they have traveled through many years.

A strange feeling welled up in Song Cheng and Xu Yuan's hearts. They had been on the mysterious island for no more than a month, and it was as if these papers had been buried here before them. It felt like a curse to kill.

Xu Yuan wrapped his hand in the corner of his clothes, took out the book, and opened to the first page, where two large characters were written:

Bad luck!

Xu Yuan and Song Cheng were stunned.

"I've only ever heard of the King of Hell in myths, who has a Book of Life and Death and a Judge's Pen." Song Cheng's tone was somewhat sarcastic. This place didn't look like hell at all, except for that strange power from earlier.

Xu Yuan continued flipping through the pages, where the contents included the person's birth date, background, life experiences, and actions on the mysterious island—it was practically a brief history of the person.

Xu Yuan thought for a moment and said, "I once read a story about a special crematorium where people are cremated and their bodies turn into a book containing their life story and all the unspeakable truths. What do you think of that?"

Song Cheng also flipped through the book, his expression somewhat grave. "It doesn't describe how the person died, does that mean they're not dead yet? And what's this booklet for? Who wrote it?"

What Song Cheng didn't say was: "Our fate is too short to stay here, is that alright?"

Song Cheng and Xu Yuan looked at each other, and they immediately thought of their own tombstones.

The two immediately retraced their steps, and in front of their respective graves, they opened the tombstones and found their own death certificates.

When the wish was opened, it indeed contained her life story.

She was an orphan and never knew her birth date, but it was clearly written in her birth certificate.

She quickly scrolled to the events on the mysterious island and unexpectedly saw a record from yesterday: mutual affection between her and Song Cheng.

Are they mutually in love?

Xu Yuan lowered her head, a sweet feeling welling up inside her.

She quickly composed herself and thought for a moment before asking, "What if we took the Book of Fate away?"
