Chapter 927 Dark Fairy Tale 55

The sea witch suddenly flew into a rage, "I truly regret that I should have let you continue sleeping as soon as you woke up, instead of playing this ridiculous game with you, you ungrateful wretch!"

"Whether it's more about self-preservation or saving the Princess and the Pea, I think you know best in your heart."

Linghu Lan's gaze seemed to possess a penetrating power, causing the sea witch to tremble involuntarily. A thought suddenly flashed through her mind, and she exclaimed, "You are not the Princess and the Pea! You keep referring to 'her,' but you are not the Princess and the Pea at all! Who are you? I was wondering how the little white rabbit from before could have the courage to 'commit suicide.' Where did you come from?"

Before Linghu Lan could answer, the sea witch muttered to herself, "Wait, are you a new personality split off from the Princess and the Pea? She can split her personality even while she's asleep?"

Linghu Lan smiled but did not answer, which was tantamount to acquiescence in the eyes of the sea witch. The witch exclaimed, "Since you are not the Princess and the Pea, we can join forces. Why do you have to follow the same path as her? Think of us two sisters, who can do anything in the whole world. How inspiring is that?"

Linghu Lan said, "Forget it! I have no interest in dominating the world, I just want to go home."

The sea witch was bewildered. She couldn't understand why someone's wish was so mundane, yet she had taken over the body they most desired. It was shameful and despicable. She couldn't help but curse, her words once again shocking the dwarves' worldview.

Linghu Lan ignored her and looked at the fire boots in her hand. She slowly said, "I already know the whole truth. You once asked me if there was any way to influence three worlds at the same time. I answered that I would definitely be able to think of a way. Now I have thought of one."

The sea witch stared intently at her lips, as if awaiting a death sentence.

Linghu Lan smiled. "That's the existence of you and me. If I die, you won't exist either, and the Evil Queen won't exist either. This affects three worlds simultaneously. Tell me, am I right?"

"Foolish, foolish, foolish! The boots of fire can burn any wizard to death, and your soul will be reduced to ashes—a pain no human can bear. How could you do such a foolish thing for someone unrelated? Back in the castle, I should have let that toad-like prince defile you. You don't deserve it..."

The witch's curses continued unabated, but Linghu Lan had no time to pay attention. Under the dwarves' astonished gazes, she put on her fire boots. Flames shot out from the soles of her feet, like countless needles coursing through her veins. The burning sensation in her soul made her want to immediately commit suicide.

However, she dared not commit suicide.

In a world where magic is powerful, she was worried that the sea witch might have some other means to preserve a little bit of her soul. At that time, the Princess and the Pea might really become a living dead who could be manipulated by others.

She could faintly hear the voices of the dwarves.

"Ah! I saw the color of her soul."

"She is pure white, she really is a good witch."

“We should have stopped her from wearing the fire boots; good people shouldn’t suffer like this.”

Linghu Lan couldn't hear what was said after that. Her body was almost completely burned by the fire boots. She glanced at the mirror formed by the vortex, but the figure of the sea witch was no longer in it. She could only hear screams coming from it. After a while, the mirror formed by the air vortex, without the support of magic, shattered with a crash.

A few minutes later, Linghu Lan disappeared into the air as a wisp of smoke, her fire boots looking brand new.
