This time, instead of waiting for nightfall, the group set off for the castle after the thunder and lightning stopped, led by Chishige.
The castle struck by lightning was definitely not a pretty sight. The air was thick with the smell of roasted meat, especially the flesh of the Blood Demons. It wasn't just roasted meat that filled the air; it was a nauseating, putrid stench, as if rotten flesh was being roasted.
Once inside the castle, without Chisei's instructions, the well-trained individuals spontaneously sought out tasks. They would strike any Blood Demons still struggling in their death throes, and kill any fleeing creatures they encountered. They cleared their way forward and soon reached the heart of the castle.
The battle went much more smoothly than anyone had anticipated. They had expected a bloody fight, but that strange burst of lightning had shattered the Blood Demon Clan's spirit. At this point, they simply didn't have the courage to fight the Blood Clan.
At the heart of the castle is a huge circular hall, in the center of which sits a jewel-encrusted golden throne.
Even in modern society, the Blood Demon Clan still possesses a strong aura of imperial power, which is determined by their bloodline. Therefore, it is not surprising that a throne appears here.
"The Blood Demon Clan's emperor has not been found."
"Let's look around some more; there must be a secret passage or mechanism here."
“They had been living underground before, and it’s possible they went back to hide after the disaster.”
The group then began searching carefully in the vast hall and finally found several Blood Demons who were still alive.
When Qianzhi asked about their emperor, the Blood Demons' eyes flashed with hatred, turning blood red as they cackled and ignored Linghu Lan and Qianzhi.
Linghu Lan smiled. Having experienced so many worlds and seen countless mechanisms and keys, she knew the Blood Demon Clan had only been on Earth for a short time and wasn't yet qualified to create truly powerful mechanisms. She glanced around the hall again and, without hesitation, moved the golden throne.
A huge wall suddenly opened up behind them.
The Blood Demon's face showed a look of horror. He sprang up and was about to rush towards Linghu Lan.
Chizuru moved with lightning speed, snapping the Blood Demon's neck in an instant. He glanced at Linghu Lan, nodded, and then headed towards the door on the wall.
The group filed in and descended a winding, rugged stone staircase to the underground.
The entire underground area was pitch black, with only a few guards scattered around the entrance. After Chizuru silently eliminated those guards, she led everyone to the innermost part of the area.
A woman's voice suddenly rang out throughout the cave. "Who? Who's there?"
Linghu Lan found the voice strangely familiar, and she immediately thought of an old acquaintance—Lin Susu.
When she could finally see the person's face clearly, Linghu Lan couldn't help but want to laugh.
You think this person looks like a Blood Demon, except for her eyes, which show how clear her eyes used to be. You can't see any human features in her at all.
That soft, whispering voice paired with that face creates a great sense of incongruity.
When Lin Susu recognized Linghu Lan, she seemed to explode. All her anger had an outlet, and she immediately screamed, "You actually dare to come here?"
Linghu Lan ignored her and instead turned her gaze to a cage next to her. Inside the cage was a person who turned out to be an old acquaintance of Linghu Lan's—Luo Ke.
