"I didn't kill you! You were just messing with me on purpose."
Linghu Lan smiled and looked at the location of her heart. "You can deny it to me loudly, you can fool anyone in this world, but you can't fool your own heart. I gave you a hundred chances, and you didn't pull yourself back even once."
"A hundred times? It was only once! After that, I could only watch what happened the first time; I had no power to stop it!"
“Miss Mo, each time the figure overlaps with you, that is yourself. If you had just one thought to save people, you could have prevented the same thing from happening again, but you didn’t!”
Mo Sheng'er gasped for breath: "The dream is fake!"
Linghu Lan glanced at her sideways, looking at her with a half-smile. "The dream is false, but the heart is real!"
Mo Sheng'er's breath caught in her throat. She couldn't deceive herself; she had truly wished for Ji Liang to die.
She couldn't hold back her tears and murmured, "I don't want to kill you!"
"You don't want to kill me now because you don't have the ability. But will you still think this way when you do? For some people, with great power comes great responsibility, but for others, great power means great responsibility. Miss Mo, unfortunately, you are the latter!"
Mo Sheng'er remained silent and sat down, hugging her knees.
Time passed slowly, and when she came to her senses, she found that Linghu Lan had disappeared, and she was all alone, sitting on the Rubik's Cube platform.
Immediately afterward, spacetime distorted, the entire Rubik's Cube collapsed, and Mo Sheng'er screamed as she began to fall endlessly.
When she opened her eyes, she found herself back in the cool little shop. She was lying on a recliner, still wearing her seatbelt, while her female classmate who had come with her was stretching.
"Wow, Sheng'er, what kind of dream did you enter?! The dream I entered was so amazing! I passed three levels in a row, but in the fourth level, I got stuck in a hole and couldn't get out. It made me so anxious! No wonder so many people want to come here, it's so much fun! Much more fun than those regular escape rooms, but it's too expensive, 500 yuan a time! That's half a month's living expenses for me, I really can't afford it!"
The female student kept talking.
Mo Sheng'er couldn't hear anything. She stared blankly at Linghu Lan, who was gently unbuckling a passenger's seatbelt.
Seeing Mo Sheng'er staring at her, Linghu Lan smiled and said, "How about it, Miss Mo, is it interesting to escape from your specific dream?"
Mo Sheng'er shivered. Her eyes glanced at a corner where someone seemed to still be lying, convulsing. A chill ran through her, and she couldn't help but scream, "Ah!!" She quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and practically jumped off the recliner. Without looking back, she fled the cool little shop, not even bothering with the female classmate who had come with her.
Everyone was startled, then burst into laughter.
"Boss, what kind of dream did she have? Why was she so scared?"
Linghu Lan laughed and said, "She tried the hardest one, which was to overcome her own inner demons. It's a pity that she failed!"
"Then I'll try it next time!"
"Great! Welcome back next time."
Linghu Lan casually agreed, saw off the last group of customers, tidied up, and slowly closed her shop door. (Or search "Remember to remove the '/' when searching, otherwise you won't find it," where there are lovely ladies to help you find books and chat with you!)
