Tan Zhengfeng slumped into the chair, and Qin Chen gripped his arm tightly.
"Old Tan, you have to save Tan Yu, he's your only son."
Tan Zhengfeng was no longer able to think. He had been loyal to the country his whole life, but he never expected that his son would betray the country in his old age.
He regretted it, he hated it.
I shouldn't have been so soft-hearted back then. I should have sent my son to the army and let him suffer. But having a son late in life, I just couldn't bring myself to be cruel. Now the retribution has come, and I'm reaping what I sowed.

"Stop talking!" Tan Zhengfeng's voice was weak.

Startled, Qin Chen shut her mouth and began to sob.

Qin Chen looked up, his eyes filled with terror.
"Old Tan, what do you mean?"
Tan Zhengfeng didn't have time to answer.
The door was suddenly forced open from the outside.
A group of soldiers rushed in, and the leader gave Tan Zhengfeng a crisp salute.
"We have received instructions from our superiors to conduct an investigation into you. Please cooperate!"
Tan Zhengfeng closed his eyes and sighed deeply.
Qin Chen was stunned; she understood.
Neither she nor Lao Tan are innocent now.
The son is finished, and so are they.
"Old Tan!"
Tan Zhengfeng waved his hand and opened his eyes.
"I accept the organization's investigation."
He walked straight toward the military vehicle at the door, his white hair mixed with black hair standing out brightly in the sunlight.
Qin Chen collapsed to the ground, his mind filled with that year when Tan Zhengfeng wanted to send Tan Yu to join the army, but Tan Yu refused and cried and made a scene with Tan Zhengfeng.
"I've lived like a widow for most of my life following you, and you want our son to suffer the same fate? I won't allow it!"
Left with no other choice, Tan Zhengfeng had to agree.
If time could turn back, she would definitely slap Tan Yu across the face and force him to go; she would never cry to Tan Zhengfeng.
Unfortunately, there's no going back.

After Tan Yu was arrested, Qin Chen was extremely busy, busy finding connections and inquiring about the situation.
