"Yes!" Linghu Lan typed out those words decisively with her slender fingers.
The other person was silent for a moment. "Who are you? Can you exorcise ghosts and evil spirits?"
"meeting!"
"Where are you? Can I come to you? I'm so scared. I don't even dare to go home. She's found out. She'll definitely come to my company. Please, let me come to you. Please save me."
Even through the screen, Linghu Lan could feel the other person's fear. Her fingers paused for a moment as she typed, then she typed "Okay!"
Half an hour later.
There was a knock at the door.
Through the peephole, Linghu Lan saw an uneasy man pacing back and forth in front of her door, looking extremely haggard.
Linghu Lan opened the door. The man stared at Linghu Lan for a moment, then cautiously asked, "Hello, I'm the one you were chatting with online earlier. Did you post that supernatural post?"
Linghu Lan opened the door wider. "It's me! Please come in."
The man nodded, walked in, glanced at the room, and noticed it was clean, tidy, and stylish.
"Please sit down!" Linghu Lan gracefully gestured for him to sit.
The man nodded, sat down, and clasped his hands under his chin—a gesture of making a wish, indicating that he was extremely uneasy.
He ran his fingers through his hair, clutching his head, his whole body as heavy as a statue. After a long while, he seemed to realize he couldn't waste any more time, and decisively raised his head, saying, "Hello, I suspect my wife isn't human."
"Hmm! When did you find out?"
"The day before yesterday, the night before yesterday."
"What did you see?" Linghu Lan asked gently.
The man's eyes widened in terror, his pupils bulging as if he were experiencing profound shock. "I saw my wife has no face."
"Hmm! So what is she usually like?"
"She's beautiful, exceptionally beautiful, and she loves beauty. She spends a lot of time on skincare every day and takes great care of her face."
What does "having no face" mean?
"It has no facial features, no nose, mouth, or eyebrows, only dark black hair."
"Could you be mistaken?"
The man seemed to recall something particularly terrifying, and he began to tremble uncontrollably. "I didn't see wrong. I was peeking at her, and she caught me. She even stared back at me. It was so terrifying; I'll never forget it for the rest of my life."
"Eye contact?"
"I know I didn't explain myself clearly. She has no eyes, but she definitely looked me in the eye. She was facing me, and I... I closed my eyes in fear, but when I opened them again, she was still staring straight at me." The man clutched his chest and began to breathe heavily.
Linghu Lan seemed to understand something. "I think I understand what you mean. What happened next?"
"Later, I fainted. When I woke up the next day, I saw her putting on makeup. Her nose, eyes, and mouth were back. She was smiling at me and asked if I had dreamt last night. She pointed at me and said she had no face."
Linghu Lan looked at him calmly, "Well, and then?"
"These past two days, I've been staying in a hotel instead of going home, using the excuse of a business trip. Today, she called and asked if I was coming back today. I'm terrified. Please, help me think of a solution. This is driving me crazy."
"What do you want? Do you want her to disappear?"
The man was stunned!
