Zhao Qixing had just been so scared he almost peed himself, but now that he could see what was on the altar, he couldn't help but spit out his food.
"Holy crap, no wonder Panlong buried the Ghost Mother Kingdom with snow. Who could stand it and marry such an ugly bride?"
"You're just envious and jealous. Marrying over a dozen brides at once? Do you think any of them would actually marry you?"
The crowd hurriedly walked up the steps to the altar. Only when they got closer could they see that the skin on these people's faces, which was so dry and black, was even more terrifying.
"This is the place where the dragon is worshipped. Everyone, split up and see how we can get out."
"It's definitely the right thing to do to get out of here; I'm going crazy from being stuck here."
"I'll never come to this godforsaken place again, even if you kill me."
The group went up to the altar and searched around for any murals or mechanisms, but after searching for a long time, they still found nothing.
Zhao Qixing thought for a moment and then instructed everyone to search around the altar together to see if there was a way out.
The group walked together into the darkness surrounding the altar.
Zhao Qixing searched the altar again but still found nothing, so he simply asked Jiang Fu.
"Brother Jiang, do you mean there's no way out at all here?"
Jiang Fu did not answer, silently looking at the female corpse on the altar and the coffin in the middle of the altar.
He observed more closely than others; each of the female corpses was kneeling on the ground with both hands hanging down.
Zhao Qixing also noticed something amiss and quickly said, "Brother Jiang, look, the places where these female corpses are kneeling are all in a circle. Isn't there something wrong with this circle?"
As he spoke, he began to walk toward the circle where the female corpse was kneeling.
Jiang Fu suddenly spoke up: "Count for me how many circles there are, and how many brides there are."
His tone left no room for doubt, so Zhao Qixing quickly turned on his flashlight and counted them one by one.
After counting, he said, "There are thirteen circles and twelve female corpses."
Jiang Fu examined a female corpse for a long time. From her drooping arm, he discovered that there was a groove where the arm hung down, and the groove led directly to the coffin in the center of the altar.
He suddenly understood that these dragon brides had all been bled dry and died, and their blood had flowed along this groove to the coffin in the center.
What's inside the coffin?
Mingxiao remained standing at the edge of the altar, harboring a natural fear of the place. If her ancestors hadn't escaped, they would now be among these female corpses.
Deep down, she had a premonition that the position of the thirteenth dragon bride was prepared for her.
At this point, Jiang Fu no longer cared about Ming Xiao's feelings. What he had discovered in the Ghost Mother Kingdom was enough to make him famous in the archaeological world.
Especially this coffin, all the bride's blood has gathered inside it, what does that mean?
Zhao Qixing noticed it too, and his expression immediately became serious.
"When I was tomb raiding before, I encountered similar things. They would soak the corpses in human blood, saying that they could be reborn after death. But by the time we pried open the coffin, the people inside were already rotting. Forget about being reborn, there was no such thing as a zombie coming back to life. It's all just superstition."
Jiang Fu's heart stirred, and he carefully examined the coffin.
The coffin was a bronze coffin that had turned somewhat black, and it was carved with a coiled dragon image. The carving was so lifelike that even the whiskers seemed as if they could stand up at any moment. Logically speaking, the dragon was inside the coffin.
But what if it isn't?
