The group split up to search inside the cave. Judging from the size of the giant snake, its eggs would be quite large.
Snake eggs are generally oval-shaped with white shells, making them easy to spot.
This was a long and narrow cave. The five people split into two groups: Linghu Lan and Tantai Yu were in one group, and the other three were in another group, each heading to one end to search for snake eggs.
The giant snake stared at them without blinking, its tongue hissing loudly in the silent cave.
Linghu Lan glanced back at the giant snake and suddenly felt an urge to blow up the cave; the snake's noise was just too loud.
The cave was very long. Linghu Lan and Tantai Yu walked for more than ten minutes without reaching the end, and they didn't even see a single eggshell.
Linghu Lan thought for a moment and asked, "Do you believe what it says?"
"Hanhuang Bird?"
"right!"
“I’ve never heard of this kind of bird, but birds and snakes are natural enemies, which is normal.” Tantai Yu’s handsome brows furrowed as he pondered the question seriously.
He thought for a moment, then continued, "There are two hypotheses here: one is that the giant snake's egg is really lost, and it needs our help to find it, so it will provide as much information as possible to help it find the real egg."
"That's right! But I still have a feeling it wants to eat us."
Linghu Lan smiled; she had no fondness for any abnormal creatures that appeared in this world.
These instances were created because of the Three-Eyed Giant above. The Three-Eyed Giant's intention was obvious: humans were just easy prey for him.
When all the fat sheep have been fattened up, that will be the time when the Three-Eyed Giants reap the lives.
Tantai Yu smiled too. Talking to Linghu Lan was effortless; she could easily understand what he meant.
"Yes, the second hypothesis is that it didn't actually lose the egg. It knew where the egg was, but because of some rule, it couldn't eat us directly. Instead, it had to wait until we lost the game before it could eat us. So, the giant snake lied."
Linghu Lan stopped and looked at him with a half-smile. "Good analysis, you can get a chicken leg as a reward!"
Tantai Yu moved closer to her and smiled, "Why don't you reward me?"
"Ha! I'm very expensive, this game isn't worth rewarding you with me," Linghu Lan said arrogantly.
Tantai Yu raised an eyebrow, his dark eyes sparkling with a hint of brilliance in the dim light. "Then what do you want in return for rewarding me?"
"I'll think about it after I've finished all the games. Otherwise, I'd better be prepared to stay single forever!" Linghu Lan turned around and continued walking forward.
Tantai Yu snapped his fingers, his smile utterly captivating. "Yes, ma'am!"
Linghu Lan paused, a dull pain shooting through his chest. He gave Tantai Yu a meaningful look, hoping that Tantai Yu might actually remember something!
The two continued walking forward.
The cave seemed to stretch endlessly, and the two walked for nearly half an hour, still without finding the end.
Tantai Yu stopped in his tracks. "Don't you find something a little strange?"
"Hmm! Something's definitely not right."
Linghu Lan looked around. The flashlight's light was limited, and the area they could see was also limited. Even with the two of them walking for nearly an hour, they still hadn't made it out of the cave.
