When Tan Yu's phone rang, he was sitting casually in a wicker chair.
A group of people were playing billiards nearby.
Pale blue smoke billiards billiard room wafted above the room, casting a decadent atmosphere over the enclosed space.
"Young Master Tan, come and have some fun. You invited us out, but you're still playing on your phone."
"Haha, Tan Shao isn't playing on his phone, he's flirting with girls."
"Wow, whose daughter have you set your sights on now? You changed your mind after only a week with the last one?"
"Shh, this time Young Master Tan is serious. It's been a month and he still hasn't taken the bait."
"Young Master Tan, tell us quickly! Who is it? Stop hiding it, bring them out and let us know."
Tan Yu was feeling smug and being talked about by everyone when the phone rang.
He stood up, walked a little distance away, and answered the call.
"Hey? Jing Se? Missed me?"
There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the phone. Tan Yu vaguely sensed something was wrong, and sure enough, a deep male voice came through.
"Tan Yu, it's me, Jing Xing!"
Tan Yu was immediately dumbfounded.
"Brother Jing, I was just joking with Jing Se, don't take it to heart."
Jing Xing frowned on the other end of the phone. Because of that one sentence, he had completely ruled out Tan Yu as his brother-in-law.
He rejected the person who was related to his sister without even asking any questions; that's incredibly irresponsible.
However, Tan Yu is the son of Tan Zhengfeng, a comrade-in-arms of his father. Tan Zhengfeng is a general, so some things cannot be handled so simply and crudely.
Where are you? I'm coming to find you.
Tan Yu hesitated for a moment, then gave an address.
The phone call ended. When people called him again, he had lost interest and quickly got dressed to go to the address he had just given them.
He dared not say that he was playing billiards at the clubhouse; if he did, Jingxing would definitely not agree to be his brother-in-law.
...
In the coffee shop.
Jing Se's eyes reddened.
I hung up the phone angrily.
Jingxing had been on speakerphone when he called, and Tan Yu's words were clearly audible to her. She sensed something was off from the very first sentence.
Later, I could hear a lot of noise coming from his side, so I felt that he must be in a rather improper place.
When Tan Yu gave the meeting address, Jing Se's heart sank to the ground.
Because the address Tan Yu gave was the same coffee shop they were in.
This shows that Tan Yu was lying.
I thought love was something special, but I never expected it to be so special – she was incredibly gullible.
Jingxing watched his younger sister blush, but remained unmoved.
After a while.
Jing Se raised her head, her face flushed, and tears glistening in her eyes.
"I will still insist that if he doesn't dare to admit his feelings for me in front of you, I will give up on my own initiative. I will never date again without your permission."
Jingxing looked at her, and the anger in his eyes finally subsided slightly.
"Okay, it's a deal!"
A dozen minutes later.
A taxi was parked outside the coffee shop.
Tan Yu jumped down from inside and rushed in.
He had just said, "I'd like a private room," when he looked up and saw Jingxing already standing at the top of the stairs on the second floor, looking down at him.
“Brother Jingxing.” Tan Yu gave an awkward smile.
Jingxing nodded: "It's been a long time since I visited Uncle Tan. How is he?"
"My dad is doing well, he often talks about you." Tan Yu breathed a slight sigh of relief. After all, their two families were old friends, so getting involved with her uncle's daughter in a young romance shouldn't be such an unforgivable crime, right?
Jing Xing smiled noncommittally. "That's good. Come upstairs, Jing Se is waiting for you!"
"good!"
