Linghu Lan didn't speak, but the little teddy bear flew out of her pocket and landed in the sea witch's hand, instantly transforming into a queen.
"You're really not doing very well!" the witch mocked.
The Queen angrily pointed at Linghu Lan, "It's all her fault! I've become the most beautiful woman in the world, the Queen, and she's the one who made me look like this!"
The sea witch stroked the queen's head, as if petting a cat, and soothed her, "Quiet, quiet! I saw everything in the crystal ball, now be quiet, be quiet!"
The sea witch's fingers possessed magical power, and the queen comfortably closed her eyes, gradually falling into a deep sleep.
She nodded in satisfaction and looked at Linghu Lan, saying, "It seems you don't like the Queen!"
"Why should I like her!" A strange feeling swept through her chest again, and she had a feeling that the witch's words had a hidden meaning.
The witch's eyes widened, her gaze filled with malicious mockery. Her laughter made the water snake and toad outside the door tremble. "Hahaha, you should know, she was created entirely for you!"
Linghu Lan was speechless, feeling that a huge secret was hidden in these words.
The witch continued, "Look at her voice, it's the Little Mermaid's voice, that's the most beautiful part of her. It was because of this voice that she was able to please King Crimson Flame and become queen. And look at her hair, it's the hair of the Little Mermaid's sisters, soft, golden, and thick. I chose the best of them all. And these talking eyes, they belong to a little mermaid who was also infatuated with a human man a long, long time ago. Her nose, her ears, every single one of them is the best. It wasn't easy to gather all these things together. I spent a very, very long time to finally create such a beautiful woman, just to fulfill your wish. And you don't like her? Really, tsk tsk!"
Linghu Lan felt a chill run down her spine; a hidden connection within her blood made her tremble. "When did I ever have such a wish!"
The witch scrutinized her carefully, examining her for a long time before a glint flashed in her eyes. "You look somewhat different from how I remember you!"
"Have you seen me before? Where? When?"
"Hahahaha!" The witch's laughter shook the whole house. "Of course I've seen you before. I know you better than I know myself! I'm actually quite happy to see you turn back into a blank slate. Alright! Let me see the magic book you got. I haven't seen its front side since I read it backwards. Let me take a look before it gets corrupted."
Linghu Lan didn't move, but the magic book automatically appeared from her arms and floated in the air.
The sea witch glanced longingly at the spellbook, but didn't reach out to touch it; a hint of desolation appeared in her eyes.
Linghu Lan was startled by this sudden, discordant emotion. She asked, "Can a magic book be read backwards?"
"Of course, you've never tried it? I suggest you don't try it. If you do, you'll never see positive words and you'll end up like me."
"You've seen this magic book before, and even read it backwards?"
The sea witch chuckled, "Of course, otherwise where would I get all this dark magic from?"
