Just as Sharon was about to reach Han Lingxi, Han Lingxi gave her a sweet smile. Sharon stared at Han Lingxi for a moment, and then the next second Sharon was sent flying, crashing into the wall behind her, a bloody mark running down her lip.
Sharon wiped the blood from the corner of her lips and looked up. She saw Roy standing expressionlessly in front of Han Lingxi, looking at her coldly. Sharon knew without a doubt that she had been tricked by Lingxi, but she couldn't understand how the seriously injured Lingxi could know that Roy was approaching when even she couldn't hear him.
"Go down and receive your punishment."
Roy spoke in a completely emotionless voice, and Sharon dared not resist, bowing her head in agreement.
"Your injury hasn't healed yet, you should go back to your room and rest."
When Roy spoke to Han Lingxi, he unconsciously became much gentler, a stark contrast to his previous demeanor.
"Um."
Although Han Lingxi had many questions she wanted to ask, she obediently went back to her room.
Sharon watched their departing figures, feeling that this was the scene she hated most. Suddenly, Han Lingxi turned around and gave Sharon a victorious smile, making Sharon grit her teeth in anger.
Han Lingxi hadn't forgotten how she almost died because of Sharon, and she was determined to get her revenge. Now, she was just collecting some interest.
Han Lingxi couldn't hear Roy approaching because she was still recovering from her serious injuries, but she still had the system as a cheat. When the two met, the system told Han Lingxi that Roy would be in the hall soon, so Han Lingxi deliberately provoked Sharon. However, Sharon was too impatient and acted earlier than Han Lingxi expected. That's why Han Lingxi said Roy's name to stop her for a moment and let Roy come back just in time for Sharon to make her move.
On the way back, Han Lingxi and Roy remained silent. Although they knew that Sharon's words were not entirely credible, it was indeed too suspicious that the Vantor family had not come to borrow her to go back. Either Roy was deliberately hiding information from her, or something had happened to the Vantor family. Both possibilities were terrifying to Han Lingxi.
"Are you really going to punish Sharon?"
In fact, Han Lingxi found it unbelievable when Roy coldly uttered the words of punishment. Didn't he like Sharon? How could he make the punishment sound so easy? Vampire punishments are not just talk; every punishment requires a painful experience.
"If you do something wrong, you should naturally accept the punishment."
Roy's words were natural; in the eyes of those in power, this was the rule, and Roy had done nothing wrong, but this shouldn't happen between lovers.
"Isn't she your lover? Doesn't she even have this simple privilege of being exempt from punishment?"
Han Lingxi said somewhat sarcastically, and Roy suddenly stared at Han Lingxi without saying a word. He wanted to say that Sharon was just more interesting. If Sharon were the wife of the Setis family, perhaps his life wouldn't be so boring. He wanted to say that if it were her, she could have all the privileges she wanted.
What else did he want to say? That he regretted it a little, that perhaps Lingxi would be a better match for his wife? Roy gave a self-deprecating smile; that would only make him look more ridiculous. So he said nothing, turned around, and continued walking.
Han Lingxi felt a little embarrassed. Actually, she said those things just to create a conversational atmosphere so she could find out some things she wanted to know. But given the current situation, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and ask.
