"I'm not falling for it. You're trying to scam me out of my points again. I don't want to know any secrets."
Han Lingxi knew the system's nature all too well; it had become an instinctive reaction for the system to trick her.
"I'm not kidding, I'm serious."
The system said in a very serious tone.
"When have you ever joked? Aren't you always diligently trying to trick me?"
Han Lingxi still didn't believe the system's words.
"Here's what I'll do: I'll sell you something that's absolutely useful, and it'll be useful right away. If I'm lying to you, may I never earn any more points."
The system became more serious, and Han Lingxi finally took it seriously. The system would openly and honestly trick her, so there was no need for it to lie to her. Besides, it had even made a solemn vow that it wouldn't earn any points, so she decided to believe it this once.
"Okay, what is it?"
"The male protagonist locator can locate the male protagonist's position at any time."
The system sounded like a sales pitch, and Han Lingxi became a little suspicious again. However, considering that it was used to locate her lover, it seemed to be very useful. This way, she wouldn't be unable to find her lover, especially in this world of cultivation where things fly very fast but communication is difficult.
"Okay then, let's buy this one."
"Ding! 5000 points deducted, male protagonist locator obtained, remaining points -4000."
Han Lingxi felt blood trickling down her chin. How could she have forgotten to ask about such an important thing as how many points she had? This system really wouldn't be happy unless it was messing with her.
"Hey, I didn't trick you. You can see for yourself by looking at the locator."
Knowing what Han Lingxi was thinking, the system quickly spoke up to defend itself.
After hearing the system's words, Han Lingxi barely suppressed the urge to argue with it.
"Turn on the locator."
Han Lingxi said coldly.
The system quickly responded obsequiously, and a virtual map opened in front of Han Lingxi.
"System, what are those two little dots?"
Han Lingxi looked at the map and asked in confusion.
"Oh, the one in green is you, and the one in red is Lu Haoran."
The system said it casually.
"Oh, I see?!"
Han Lingxi nodded knowingly, but before she could lower her head, she cried out in surprise. What did it mean that the two dots were so close together? Han Lingxi tried to remain calm and carefully looked at the map, trying to tell herself that it was just a matter of scale, but she sadly discovered that the map only showed the back mountain.
According to the location display, Lu Haoran was right in front of her, but all she could see was a lake. A horrifying thought crossed Han Lingxi's mind, but she quickly banished it, unable to believe it.
"System, is this locator of yours broken?"
Han Lingxi asked with a glimmer of hope.
"uh-huh."
The system gave a haughty reply.
"You're not saying that Lu Haoran is really in the lake, are you?"
Han Lingxi asked in a tone that suggested she was joking.
"uh-huh."
The system spoke up arrogantly once again.
Han Lingxi understood the system's meaning. She quickly recalled whether she had done anything wrong. It seemed that she hadn't moved since she sat down, and her conversation with the system was only in her mind. At most, her expressions were a bit more varied, which should prevent Lu Haoran from guessing her thoughts, but it wouldn't leave any bad impression either.
Just as Han Lingxi was relieved, she immediately took a deep breath and asked with some trepidation.
"System, Lu Haoran didn't die in the lake, did he?"
"Cough, cough, don't worry, even if you die, he won't die."
The system said irritably, and Han Lingxi then realized she had been overthinking things.
