Chu Hanyan met A Shao when she had just returned to the underworld, after they had lived together by the Yellow Springs for hundreds of years.
In fact, only a hundred years later, A Shao had cultivated to the point where he could transform into human form. Chu Hanyan didn't think much of it at the time, but her brother Ming Yu noticed A Shao's extraordinary abilities and became wary of him.
Mingyu is not Chu Hanyan's biological brother; he only found her and her sister Chu Yuwei ten thousand years ago.
At that time, she and her sister were two tears shed by some unknown god, which, because they contained amazing magic and emotion, took human form.
Mingyu found them and raised them as his own sisters, simply because they resembled his own sisters. To this day, Chu Hanyan still doesn't understand what the resemblance is, but it certainly isn't in their appearance.
After finding them, Mingyu left them with his friend. He and his sister had completely different attitudes towards this, which may be the reason for their different fates.
Chu Hanyan obediently followed Mingyu's arrangements, not wanting to cause him trouble, while Chu Yuwei was very difficult and refused to leave her brother no matter what.
In the end, Mingyu had no choice but to take Chu Yuwei back to the Underworld, while she was left in the God Realm.
She returned to the Underworld because of the turmoil in the God Realm. Mingyu was worried about her safety and brought her back. At that time, Chu Hanyan was touched, knowing that her brother still cared about her.
But after returning to the Underworld, he discovered that things were different. Although Mingyu was cold by nature, he was clearly closer to Chu Yuwei than to him.
Just as Mingyu said, even though they are both his sisters, Chu Yuwei has a bond with him that spans ten thousand years.
Chu Hanyan has never been one to fight for anything. After noticing that her brother was closer to her sister, she focused more of her attention on A Shao. Whether she was seeking comfort or fearing loneliness, the result was that they fell in love with each other.
Not long after, it was time for Chu Hanyan and Chu Yuwei to undergo their tribulations. Before Chu Hanyan jumped off the Reincarnation Platform, A Shao left a mark on her body, saying that he would go back to the mortal world to find her.
Chu Hanyan naturally refused. Interfering with someone else's tribulation without authorization would result in a strong backlash, ranging from serious injury to death.
Chu Hanyan didn't avoid talking to A Shao in front of Chu Yuwei, because Chu Hanyan believed that Chu Yuwei was, after all, her older sister and a blood relative, so there was no need to hide it from her.
Chu Hanyan and Chu Yuwei were born into the royal family as twin princesses. When they were six years old, Chu Hanyan suddenly fell seriously ill and could not be cured despite the efforts of renowned doctors from all over the country. She eventually died.
Not long after Chu Hanyan's death, Chu Yuwei awakened her memories of her past life, or at least that's what Chu Hanyan believed.
Deep down, she still didn't want to believe that Chu Yuwei had plotted to kill her in order to survive the Heavenly Tribulation, so she assumed that Chu Yuwei's awakening must have happened after that.
After awakening, Chu Yuwei remembered the conversation between Chu Hanyan and A Shao that she overheard on the Reincarnation Platform. Knowing that A Shao had returned to help Chu Hanyan, she took away the mark from Chu Hanyan's body.
Chu Hanyan thought she would die before she could survive the Heavenly Tribulation, but Mingyu appeared and saved her life with the Soul Lock. Although she could not live forever like before, she could live for several hundred more years.
Chu Hanyan clearly remembered that Mingyu told her at that time, "Don't worry, I will think of other ways."
Those words were probably the warmest words Chu Hanyan had ever heard in her life.
