Side Story (River God Chapter) Chu Hanyan 6

"Little snake, is there anywhere you'd like to go?"

The little snake's love for Chu Hanyan was becoming increasingly obvious. Chu Hanyan felt it was time to let the little snake go out and broaden its horizons. If it met more people, it would realize that its feelings for her might not actually be love.

"It's enough that I'm with you. Is there anywhere you'd like to go?"

The little snake can now transform into human form. He leans against the bridge beneath the water, staring intently at Chu Hanyan as he asks.

"No."

Chu Hanyan was stunned for a moment. She seemed to have wanted to go to many places back then, but now she could only stay here and would no longer fantasize about those unrealistic things.

"Then I'll stay here with you."

The little snake said nonchalantly that he felt good being able to stay here with Yan Gui.

Who are you talking to?

Suddenly a voice broke in, cold and hard, its eyes fixed dangerously on the little snake.

Chu Hanyan and the little snake looked up at the same time and saw Ashao standing on the bridge looking down at them.

"Who are you?"

The little snake had never seen Ah Shao before, and asked in a cold tone.

"This is not a place for you. Leave."

Ah Shao jumped straight off the bridge, warning the little snake, without even glancing at him.

Ah Shao was holding some things in his hand. Chu Hanyan was quite surprised when she saw them. They were rare and precious treasures. She wondered where Ah Shao had found so many.

Ah Shao ignored the little snake and directly condensed the spiritual power of the rare treasure in his palm, then slowly placed his hand on the bridge.

At the same time, Chu Hanyan was enveloped in a golden light, and she felt her spiritual power increase significantly.

Seeing Ah Shao's actions, Chu Hanyan realized that her ability to regain her intelligence was largely due to Ah Shao.

Seeing this, the little snake was terrified, thinking that Ah Shao was doing something to harm Chu Hanyan, and used its magic to attack Ah Shao.

The little snake's cultivation was really no match for Ah Shao, who easily slapped it back with a wave of his hand.

Chu Hanyan saw Ah Shao flying back and quickly pulled him back.

"Yan Gui, are you alright?"

The little snake noticed that the light on Yan Gui's body had disappeared, but it still asked worriedly.

Ashao sensed something was off because of the little snake's words. He had just seen the little snake seemingly talking to someone, but he couldn't sense anyone around him.

"Han Yan? Is that you?"

Ashao tentatively asked, "This is where the dragon vein is located. Almost no demons dare to come here. If there are any living beings here, it is only Chu Hanyan."

Reason told him that Chu Hanyan's soul had been scattered, but A Shao was unwilling to believe this fact. He firmly believed that Hanyan would return one day.

The little snake looked at Chu Hanyan with a puzzled expression, probably asking if this was her name. Ah Shao, however, determined Chu Hanyan's location by observing the little snake's movements.

Unfortunately, when he rushed over, there was nothing there; he couldn't touch her or hear her voice.

Chu Hanyan couldn't figure out what her feelings for A Shao were right now, and she didn't want to see A Shao again until she figured it out.

Chu Hanyan instructed the little snake not to tell Ah Shao who she was, nor to tell him that he could understand her. After that, Chu Hanyan returned to the bridge.

Chu Hanyan came out again after being startled by the commotion outside. What she saw was A Shao using magic to immobilize the little snake and holding a dagger, intending to gouge out its eyes.
