Chapter 139 Fainting from Pain

Turning to look at the peach tree beside her, Yin Qingyi reached out and touched the trunk. It was still rough, but it shone with a brownish light. The withered leaves shone with a yellow light. Yin Qingyi didn't know if this scene was something only she could see. She was just glad that her backyard was enclosed by high walls, so people outside couldn't see it. There was only one door in the corner where she usually went in to take care of the trees. Almost no one was there unless she came in to take care of the trees.

Yin Qingyi hadn't paid attention to the arrangement of the nine peach trees according to some kind of formation, and naturally didn't know it. Normally, she just thought the peach trees were a mess. But now, Yin Qingyi suddenly understood their meaning. She walked to the center of the nine peach trees and watched as the brown, yellow, and golden light emanating from the peach blossom above her head converged and slowly entered her body. Unlike before, when only the golden light was present, causing a surge of energy to gather in Yin Qingyi's lower abdomen and then dissipate, this time the energy didn't dissipate but flowed throughout Yin Qingyi's limbs and bones. Yin Qingyi only… She felt a warm sensation all over her body, as if the energy was washing over her. It flowed through her body again and again. She didn't know how much time had passed, but the energy finally stopped dispersing and gathered in her lower abdomen, growing larger and larger. Yin Qingyi couldn't help but frown. She felt a slight stinging pain in her lower abdomen, and the pain grew stronger and stronger. If Yin Qingyi hadn't been rational enough to know that this matter couldn't be discovered, she probably would have cried out. Enduring the pain, Yin Qingyi wanted to leave. However, it was easy to get in, but she couldn't leave. She didn't know what force was pulling her, and her feet were rooted to the ground, unable to move an inch.

"Brother Hua, we don't seem to have any grudge against each other, do you really want to make me suffer like this?" Yin Qingyi looked up at the peach blossoms on her head, her words tinged with resentment.

The peach blossom on Yin Qingyi's head swayed as if answering her question, but Yin Qingyi couldn't understand it. She only felt like she was going to explode from the pain! It was no different from childbirth! Just as Yin Qingyi was about to cry out, a sharp pain came from her lower abdomen, and she fainted from the pain before she could even make a sound.

The moment Yin Qingyi fell, the peach blossom that she couldn't normally reach caught her steadily, enveloping her entirely in its petals so she could continue to receive the baptism of light.

The baptism lasted a full hour. After midnight, the peach blossom enveloped Yin Qingyi and drifted into the room. The window behind her was closed by the peach branches by the window, as if nothing had happened.

Peach Blossom cleansed Yin Qingyi of all the filth before placing her on the bed, and then disappeared.

The next day, Yin Qingyi woke up at dawn. After a moment of clarity, she remembered what had happened the night before. She immediately got up and opened the window. The nine peach trees outside were back to normal, without a trace of the strangeness she had witnessed the previous night. Yin Qingyi looked down at her undergarments and shoes—not a speck of mud on them. It was as if everything from the previous night had been a dream. But Yin Qingyi was certain it had truly happened. But hadn't she fainted from the pain? How had she returned? And why were there no muds on her shoes or face?

"Master, you're awake?" Qiuju's voice rang out from the doorway, very softly, because Qiuju wasn't sure if she had misheard, after all, her master rarely got up this early.

"Hmm." Yin Qingyi frowned as she looked around, making sure nothing seemed amiss before speaking. She noticed the door latch hadn't been tampered with, so no one had come in. Was she brought in by that peach blossom? And they even cleaned her shoes? Wasn't that a bit too considerate?

"Come in." Yin Qingyi walked over and opened the door.

"Didn't you sleep well, Master? Why are you up so early today?" Qiuju came in and saw the broken teacups on the table. She assumed that Yin Qingyi had been upset about the broken teacups last night and felt a pang of heartache. Even when Master was sad or angry, she kept it all to herself. How could Master bear to see such a good master sad?

"I slept very well. Oh, by the way, I accidentally broke this teacup last night when I got up to drink water." Yin Qingyi felt that she had never slept as well as she had today, and she was full of energy.

"Hmm, this servant will take it." Qiuju felt that she shouldn't expose her mistress's words. The teacup was broken like this; how could it have been accidentally dropped? It was obviously stepped on and broken.

"Master, please wash up first." Chunlan brought in a basin of water while Qiuju was getting ready.

After Yin Qingyi finished washing up and Qiuju and Chunlan dressed her, Granny Naqi arrived. Granny Naqi first glanced at Yin Qingyi with concern, but was relieved to see that Yin Qingyi's complexion was relatively good.

"Did you get your breakfast?" Yin Qingyi is fine in every way, except she's starving! To be honest, she was probably woken up by hunger, and she doesn't know why she feels like she could eat a whole cow right now.

"I've already sent Xiao Jinzi to pick it up." Qiu Ju sent Xiao Jinzi to deal with the fragments when she went out.

"Mmm." Yin Qingyi sat at the dining table, quietly waiting for her breakfast. Never before had Yin Qingyi looked forward to breakfast so much; she felt like she was starving. Every second was torture for her.

"Your Majesty got up early today, and the kitchen wasn't ready yet. I had to wait a while to get it." Xiao Jinzi handed the meal to Qiuju as soon as she came in, and then smiled as she explained why she had taken so long to return.

"I know, hurry up and set the table, I'm starving." Yin Qingyi didn't even pay attention to what Xiao Jinzi said, she was now looking longingly at Qiu Ju setting the table.

Qiuju immediately sped up and quickly finished arranging the chrysanthemums.

Yin Qingyi picked up her chopsticks and started eating. She ate so quickly that the old nanny and Qiuju were astonished. The food was disappearing at a visible speed. The mistress, who usually only ate two-thirds of her food, had finished it all today, and she even seemed a little unsatisfied.

"Master, you have a really good appetite today." Granny Naqi said, her lips twitching as she looked at the empty plates and dishes.

"Hmm, maybe it's because breakfast was too delicious today." Yin Qingyi really wanted to say that she wanted to eat some more, but seeing their surprised expressions, even though they tried their best to control themselves, Yin Qingyi still noticed their surprise. So she patted her stomach and decided not to say anything. She could always eat some pastries later.
