"If you feel unwell, you must tell me, okay?" Yinzhen looked at Yin Qingyi carefully, and was relieved to see that she did not seem to be forcing herself.
"I understand, Your Majesty, don't worry. Would I harm myself?" Yin Qingyi was helpless; she didn't know what was wrong with Yinzhen today.
A "glug" sound interrupted what Yinzhen was about to say.
"Master, I'm hungry." Yin Qingyi looked up and blinked her fox-like eyes.
"Nanny Naqi, quickly, bring out the food." Yinzhen was surprised for a moment, then immediately smiled and hurriedly told Nanny Naqi to set out the food.
"Yes, hurry, everyone come and help." Granny Naqi's face, which had been worried for half a month, now broke into a smile. She quickly called Qiuju, Chunlan, Mingyue, and Fengqing to help set the table. In less than two minutes, all the food was laid out.
We have to be quick! What if the princess suddenly loses her appetite again? Now that she's regained her appetite, we must get her to eat as soon as possible.
Looking at the table full of her favorite dishes, Yin Qingyi, disregarding whether Yinzhen was present or not, began to eat heartily. The nanny and the others watching were overjoyed; the princess finally had an appetite.
Although Yinzhen didn't know what these people were thinking, since he hadn't seen Yin Qingyi's suffering in the past half month, he could imagine how much weight she had lost. Naturally, he was happy and didn't mind Yin Qingyi eating first. He even happily served her food.
"Your Highness, you should eat too," Yin Qingyi said softly, looking at Yinzhen who was busy serving her food.
"You eat first." Yinzhen's eyes were full of smiles. It had been a long time since he'd seen this little woman eat so heartily; the last time was over half a month ago. He'd been incredibly busy these past two weeks. His father had taken him along to the Imperial Ancestral Temple, so he hadn't really been at home much. He'd only been able to leave with peace of mind because he'd assigned people to protect this little woman. He never imagined that the one who harmed her wouldn't be someone else, but his own child. Thankfully, she seemed to be slowly recovering.
With a smile in her eyes, Yin Qingyi lowered her head and continued eating. She was full in no time. Perhaps it was because she had been hungry for too long, her stomach had shrunk. If this had happened more than half a month ago, she could have eaten at least half again as much.
"Not eating anymore? Or do you want to eat more?" Yinzhen looked at Yin Qingyi, who had stopped eating, and frowned again. This was not the amount of food this little woman should eat.
“Master, please don’t try to persuade her. The princess has probably been hungry for a long time and has just started to have an appetite. It’s normal that she can’t eat much. It would be bad if she ate too much.” Granny Qi was worried that the princess would overeat and was wondering whether to persuade her. But she also wanted the princess to eat more. Before she could decide what to do, the princess wanted to do it for her.
"Is that so? Well then, it seems this medicine is indeed effective. I will go and thank Physician Li properly tomorrow." Yinzhen was relieved to hear what Granny Qi said.
Yin Qingyi smiled but remained silent. She should really thank this Physician Li! If it weren't for the fact that she wasn't in a position to see men outside the marriage right now, she would have liked to go and thank him in person.
After Yinzhen finished eating, he sat with Consort Yin for a while before getting up and returning to the front courtyard.
"Your Highness, this old servant has something to say, but I'm not sure if I should." Granny Naqi followed Yinzhen out and walked to the courtyard gate. Only after making sure that no one inside could hear her did she speak to Yinzhen in a low voice.
"Please speak freely, Granny." Yinzhen was in a good mood at the moment, and he was even more patient with his already close wet nurse.
"That's right. Since the princess is eating so little right now, she'll get hungry quickly. She'll probably have to eat at the kitchen often in the future. After all, the kitchen is quite far from the backyard. If the princess wants something to eat, she'll have someone order it. If she waits until it's cooked and then brings it back, the princess will probably be very hungry."
"What does the old woman want to say?"
"Yes, could we build a small kitchen in the princess's courtyard? That way, if the princess gets hungry outside of mealtimes, this old servant can cook something delicious for her. This old servant knows this request is a bit excessive; only concubines and those of higher rank are allowed to have small kitchens. But this old servant feels very sorry for the princess, and I'm so sorry to have to swallow my pride and beg Your Majesty to build a small kitchen for her." The old nanny knelt on the ground at the end.
"What are you doing, Granny? Get up quickly. You should have told the Master about this sooner. He didn't expect it." Yinzhen reached out and pulled Granny up.
"Does Master agree?" Granny Qi asked, somewhat incredulous.
“Of course, Your Majesty will have someone build it.” Yinzhen nodded.
"This old servant thanks Your Highness on behalf of the princess!" Granny Qi was so happy that she wanted to kneel down to Yinzhen again, but fortunately Yinzhen stopped her in time.
"What did Granny and Master say?" Chunlan stood at the door and watched Granny talking to the master at the courtyard gate. She nudged Xiao Jinzi beside her with some curiosity.
"How would I know? I don't have super hearing." Little Gold was curious too, but he couldn't hear anything either.
Not long after, Granny Naqi returned. Although the two were extremely curious, they dared not ask and stared at Granny Naqi with longing eyes.
"We'll find out tomorrow. Look at you two, that's all you've got." Granny Naqi was pleased and couldn't help but laugh at their expectant looks. However, she decided not to say anything until the matter was confirmed.
“What you say is true, Granny.” Little Jinzi bowed exaggeratedly, which made Granny Qi and Chunlan laugh.
Ignoring the two, Granny Qi went into the room and looked at Yin Qingyi lying on the chaise longue reading the play script. Her eyes were filled with relief. It had been a long time since the princess had been able to lie here comfortably and read the play script. Now it seemed that she was really well.
Lying on the chaise longue, Yin Qingyi wasn't reading the script; her thoughts were far away.
She wasn't actually without family in the 21st century; she just didn't think about it and controlled herself from thinking about it because she was afraid that if she did, she wouldn't be able to bear her current life.
But today's bowl of medicine made her think of him. Her only relative in the 21st century, the one who always thought of her, cared for her, and worried about her, the one she had called "brother" for over twenty years.
Only that person could concoct a medicine with this flavor; only that person possessed such medical skills—that young, genius TCM doctor whose name resonated throughout the world in the 21st century.
Such a brilliant and talented traditional Chinese medicine doctor locked himself in the pharmacy for half a year because she disliked the taste of Chinese medicine. He racked his brains to create a formula that would make the Chinese medicine taste much better. He never made this formula public, and she was the only one who could drink it.
Today, she drank it again, just when she thought she would never drink it again in her life.
