"You really feel he’s that amazing?" Huangfu Qingjue asked with a slight frown.
"Yes," replied Ling Chuxi with a nod.
"Oh, right, the sword." Only then did Huangfu Qingjue realize that he had missed the main point of the story.
"Victory and defeat were but fine lines away. The only woman that Cang Yuan had ever loved had betrayed him. She suddenly attacked him from behind and that was how he died. Before he did, he integrated all of his mind and soul into the sword so he and the sword became one, resulting in the killing of more than hundreds of experts on the spot. After Cang Yuan’s mind and soul were integrated into the Cang Yuan Sword, the sword itself gained a spiritual consciousness of its own and was henceforth known as the Ancient Killing Sword.
It was the first time Ling Chuxi had met someone who told a story like this. There should have at least been some twists and turns along the way, all right? At least a little tsunami or a landslide, or an incident where heaven and earth lost its color, or even an eclipse of the sun and the moon, okay?
"Then, how did he die?" Ling Chuxi prodded. View the correct content at fre.ewe(bn)ovel.c om
Ling Chuxi finally understood. It turns out that Huangfu Qingjue was not without weaknesses after all. At the very least, he did not seem to be able to tell a story well.
"That’s it?" Ling Chuxi asked with dissatisfaction.
"Back then, when all the various experts from prestigious families emerged, even they were not his match. Countless top-notch experts were turned into dust by the blade of his sword. Those who were defeated were top-notch experts belonging to various prestigious families, but they were all completely not his match." Speaking right up till this point of the story, Huangfu Qingjue had also more or less thrown in some woeful expressions along the way.
"And then, he died," Huangfu Qingjue replied concisely without any expression.
Under Ling Chuxi’s guidance, Huangfu Qingjue finally managed to tell the story with some color although it was still not winding and tactful enough.
"All of Cang Yuan’s love and hatred, joy and sorrows were hidden within these shards.
"Later on, as various prestigious families’ and experts were uneasy about his appearance, they set up a plan to ambush him," Huangfu Qingjue said.
"However, just as Cang Yuan truly died, his sword seemed to have felt his great sorrow and actually imploded upon itself, turning itself into countless shards which were scattered around the world.
Ling Chuxi finally realized with a start that something was not quite right. Huangfu Qingjue’s attitude right now... Why did it seem like he was being jealous? Was the usually strong, calm and confident Haungfu Qingjue at this moment acting defensively to hide his jealousy? Was this for real? Ling Chuxi blinked as she looked at Huangfu Qingjue, then suddenly started smiling broadly as she said, "Of course, in my heart, Qingjue is the one who is the most amazing."
"Yes, that’s it. He died. End of story," Huangfu Qingjue replied.
"And then?" Ling Chuxi continued to press for answers.
"What happened to Cang Yuan later on?" Ling Chuxi continued asking her questions.
"Really?" Huangfu Qingjue asked again with a frown.
"Hearsay, as long as one was able to find the shards of the Cang Yuan Sword, that person would then possess the Cang Yuan Sword’s spirit and would be able to attract the other shards together under their guidance in order for the Cang Yuan Sword to see the light of day again. Additionally, that person would also be able to inherit the core of the sword," Huangfu Qingjue said.
"Then, what about the sword? What happened to it?" Ling Chuxi could only guide him a little. This was the main thing she wanted to find out more about.
"He was ambushed by people," replied Huangfu Qingjue, looking at Ling Chuxi with an odd gaze. Didn’t he make it very clear when he told the story?
Huangfu Qingjue coughed lightly and did not say anything, but Ling Chuxi very sensitively caught on to the sight of Huangfu Qingjue’s slightly gathered brows soothing.
"And then, he died." In four words the story was over. The beginning of the story was told in such a tactful and touching manner, encouraging so much imagination, and then in just four words, the story ended.
Ling Chuxi opened her small mouth slightly, using a very odd gaze to look at Huangfu Qingjue.
"How did he die?" asked Ling Chuxi as the corners of her lips twitched, full of dissatisfaction.
Although Huangfu Qingjue explained these things in a very simple manner, Ling Chuxi was still able to imagine how tragic and how poignant Cang Yuan’s story was back then.
