Chapter 19 Tea House

Gao Qiqiang said mysteriously, "Bald Yong's side is planning to play dirty tricks. I heard they've prepared a lot of weapons. You'll definitely fall for it if you go. That's all I'll say, A-Ping, don't go."

"I understand, Brother Qiang, thank you."

"You're too kind. Didn't you help me last time? We're even now."

Gao Qiqiang smiled, turned around and left.

Looking at Gao Qiqiang's back, Tang Ping felt something was off. Logically speaking, with Wu Kun around, Bald Yong wouldn't have the guts. Gao Qiqiang was in cahoots with Tang Xiaolong and Tang Xiaohu. Would he betray Tang Xiaolong just to do him a favor?

Perhaps. At present, the relationship between the three of them is not very solid. They only came together because of Xu Lei's death.

Tang Ping thought for a moment, deciding it was better to be prepared. He called Li Qiang over, took out a stack of banknotes from his pocket, and instructed him, "Go to the overpass, find Zhong Asi, and ask him to come and help me this time. This is a thousand yuan for him."

"Brother Ping, is this really necessary? With that money, we could hire more people," Li Qiang said reluctantly.

He still harbored some resentment towards Zhong Asi because of their previous conflict.

Tang Ping glared at him and said, "Do as I say, hurry up and go. Ah Hui, get in my car!"

It was almost time, so Tang Ping took Li Hui and set off.

The negotiation took place in a teahouse between Lovers' Street and Old Factory Street. When Tang Ping drove there, Wu Kun was already there with only four or five people.

Tang Ping was a little worried and said, "There are too few people. What if Bald Yong and his gang turn against us and don't follow the rules of the underworld?"

"Hehe, Boss Tang, don't worry. I doubt Tang Xiaolong would dare to disregard the rules of the underworld. Let's see how he'll survive in Jinghai after this!"

Wu Kun, however, was very confident and smiled as he pulled Tang Ping upstairs.

This is an old-fashioned teahouse, and at this time of night, there are no customers left.

Tang Ping followed Wu Kun upstairs, sat down to drink tea, and waited for a full hour before Bald Yong finally brought his men up.

Bald Yong was a big, burly man with a full beard. He brought a lot of men with him, all of them thugs with tattoos and smears. Compared to them, Wu Kun's men were simply not in the same league.

"Oh, you're still in the mood for tea? Tang Ping, is it? You little brat, stealing my business, stealing my video store, I think you're tired of living, daring to mess with me, Bald Yong!"

As soon as he came in, Bald Yong started yelling and cursing, spewing filth from his mouth and his breath was extremely foul.

Tang Ping was about to speak when Wu Kun stopped him, stood up, and said, "Watch your mouth, Baldy Yong. It's obvious you started this whole thing. If you hadn't first put pornographic DVDs in Boss Tang's video store to report and frame him, would he have reported you in return? As for your video store, you ended up in jail yourself. The landlord transferred the business, all the paperwork is in order, what's the problem?"

"Wu Kun, are you planning to stand up for him today?" Bald Yong asked.

Wu Kun said, "That's right, where's Tang Xiaolong? Why hasn't he arrived yet? Baldy Yong, you're not qualified to talk to me. Let Tang Xiaolong come!"

Bald Yong's face showed deep disdain as he sneered, "Hahaha, qualifications? Wu Kun, are you an idiot? What era are we living in? What kind of old-timer are you trying to impress me with your seniority? You think I'm really here to negotiate? Let me tell you, Brother Long and Brother Hu never intended to come. I'm here to teach you a lesson! Beat them up!"

After saying that, Baldy Yong waved his hand, and the thugs behind him rushed over.

They were all carrying weapons: steel pipes, baseball bats, and machetes.

Bald Yong isn't here to negotiate; he's clearly here to take lives.

"That damn Tang Xiaolong, he actually tried to pull a dirty trick on me! Run! Boss Tang, you guys go first, I'll cover you!"

Wu Kun's expression changed drastically as he immediately realized something was wrong. He shouted for Tang Ping to run first, while he and a few of his men raised chairs to resist.

"Depend on!"

Tang Ping never expected that Bald Yong would be so shameless, turning on Tang Ping and attacking him under the guise of negotiation.

That's so insidious!

Gao Qiqiang was right. Tang Xiaolong and Tang Xiaohu didn't show up at all. They had planned it all out in advance, letting Baldy Yong take the lead.

Reasoning? What kind of reasoning is that?

If someone is already dead, what's the point of reasoning with the King of Hell?

However, to Tang Ping's surprise, Wu Kun was quite loyal and did not betray him at the crucial moment.

"Brother Ping, what should we do?" Li Hui was a little panicked.

Although he usually hangs out with Li Qiang and the others, he is a rather honest person and has never seen such a grand occasion before.

"What do we do? Of course, we fight them!"

Tang Ping smiled calmly, grabbed a stool, smashed it against the wall, broke off a stool leg and handed it to Li Hui, then grabbed one for himself and rushed towards the crowd.

Tang Ping quickly approached a thug and smashed the stool leg down on him. The thug, who had been smiling, suddenly stopped smiling and collapsed with blood all over his head.

One stool leg felled one of them, but Tang Ping remained unfazed. He turned his head and saw a thug holding a machete about to slash at Wu Kun's back.

Bang!

Tang Ping reacted quickly, kicking the thug hard in the waist. The thug screamed and flew backward, crashing into several of his companions.

Wu Kun only then realized what had happened and broke out in a cold sweat. If Tang Ping hadn't arrived in time, that slash would have either killed him or seriously injured him.

"Boss Tang, why didn't you leave?" Wu Kun looked at Tang Ping gratefully and asked.

"Leave? I, Tang Ping, have never abandoned my friends. If we're going to leave, we'll leave together. Besides, these few worthless scoundrels aren't even worth my time to run away!"

Tang Ping sneered, clenched his fists, and stood in front of Wu Kun and his group, swinging the chair legs. With each swing, someone fell to the ground.

In the blink of an eye, Tang Ping fought against ten men single-handedly, causing Bald Yong and his gang to retreat in disarray, and no one dared to charge forward again.

Tang Ping had figured it out: the thugs led by Bald Yong were all formidable when they had the upper hand and were winning, but once they were hurt, they became cowardly and none of them dared to step forward.

Wu Kun was dumbfounded to see that Tang Ping had single-handedly overpowered more than thirty thugs.

Bald Yong looked extremely embarrassed. He had just tried to rush in, but found that he couldn't get close to Tang Ping at all.

This guy is surprisingly good at fighting.

With that physique, could he be a martial arts expert?

Tang Ping stared at Baldy Yong across from him, beckoned with his finger, and said, "Baldy Yong, weren't you so arrogant? Want to settle scores with me? Come on! One-on-one, whoever chickens out is a coward and can forget about hanging around Old Factory Street anymore, dare you?"

After that battle, he finally understood just how awesome the fighting skills rewarded by the system were.
