Chapter 18 The Sister-Obsessed Maniac

Luo Shi's favorability rating rose to 90, which was somewhat unexpected for Jiang Fei.

But then I thought about it again, and realized that Luo Shi's inherent arrogance couldn't hide the psychological distortion and inferiority complex caused by that leg.

The "confession" he just gave in front of everyone clearly touched a nerve.

And he did indeed know that she had met Wen Yishu!

This little cripple is too cunning.

When they returned to the villa, Jiang Fei's lips were still a little swollen, which made the driver keep his head down when he opened the door, not daring to look at the two of them.

Jiang Fei glared at Luo Shi, then took the prepared pumpkin to the kitchen.

Luo Shi stared at her back, gently rubbed his lips with his hand, and hesitated for a moment before slowly following her.

The weather is unusually sunny today.

Luo Shi parked the wheelchair at the kitchen doorway and watched Jiang Fei carefully cut the pumpkin. Her profile was beautiful, her lips were slightly swollen and curled, and she looked quite alluring. A wisp of hair fell down and swayed gently with her movements.

It's wonderful.

But a sense of fear began to creep into his heart.

These beautiful moments felt like a dream, and he feared that one day she would find out everything that happened on their engagement night.

The more beautiful the moment, the more afraid I become.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" After being stared at for a while, Jiang Fei simply turned her head and stared at him with wide eyes.

Luo Shi snapped back to reality, her throat tightening slightly: "I didn't know you could cook."

Jiang Fei was taken aback, then smiled and her eyes crinkled: "I've always known how to do that."

Luo Shi looked at her smile: "So, the reason Cheng Ji came home for dinner the other day was indeed because..." you.

Before he could finish speaking, Jiang Fei, still holding the spoon, turned around, bent down, and kissed him on the lips.

Luo Shi felt a tingling sensation on his lips, as if a thread was connecting them, causing his heart to beat uncontrollably. He was stunned for a moment.

Jiang Fei winked at him from a short distance away: "Aren't you jealous because you want me to kiss you?"

Luo Shi coughed softly: "...No, it's because of him..."

My lips were pecked again.

Jiang Fei smiled and said, "That means I want to kiss you."

Luo Shi's eyelashes fluttered slightly as he looked at her lips, which were glistening with an alluring sheen. He lightly licked the corner of his lips and said, "Cheng Ji..."

Jiang Fei kissed him again as expected.

This time, however, Luo Shi didn't stop there. Instead, he wrapped his arms tightly around her waist and deepened the kiss.

Luo Shi didn't go out all day.

He was looking at documents in his study, occasionally glancing at Jiang Fei, who was curled up on the sofa next to him reading a book.

At these times, she would always put down her book and smile at him, her eyes filled with sunshine.

That night, Luo Shi had a dream.

In his dream, he seemed to have returned to the past when he was beaten half to death, curled up in a corner, covered in wounds.

The woman he should have called his mother stared straight at him and demanded, "Why don't you just die? Why don't you just die?"

Luo Wan looked at him, her eyes filled with fear: "Xiao Shi, how could you be this kind of person?"

And then there were those noisy comments: "She's so good-looking, it's a pity her legs aren't good."

"So what if he's the only son of the Chen family? Isn't he still a cripple?"

"..."

Only one voice, like a ray of light tearing through the darkness, crisp and clear: "I like Luo Shi the most."

But he was even more afraid; his hands trembled uncontrollably, and a chill ran through him.

He was filthy; he approached her and treated her with filthy means.

Now, however, he's like an addict, greedy for everything she has.

Luo Shi clenched his teeth, his whole body tense, trying to break free from the dream, but he couldn't.

"Luo Shi? Luo Shi?" Someone gently called his name in his ear.

Luo Shi's body trembled.

The next second, a soft body was in his arms, carrying a pleasant fragrance. Someone was gently patting his back, easing his tense emotions.

Luo Shi gradually relaxed and slowly opened her eyes.

Jiang Fei nestled in his arms, holding him tightly, her eyes filled with worry: "Luo Shi..."

Luo Shi suddenly reached out and embraced her tightly, drawing warmth from her body. After a long while, he said in a hoarse voice, "Let's get married."

...

Luo Shi's preparations for the wedding were even faster than those for the engagement. The difference was that this time, he was personally involved.

This includes the wedding dress and ring.

The wedding dress was a limited-edition haute couture piece. After taking her measurements, the design team went back to alter the dress.

The ring was custom-made by the most renowned jewelry designer invited by Luo Shi.

Luo Shi dislikes strangers, but she still hired a nanny to stay at the villa during this period.

Watching him busy every day, Jiang Fei was happy to be at ease.

She hates trouble the most.

The weather was gloomy that day.

Because of his leg injury, Luo Shi had a rare moment of free time and stayed in the villa instead of going out, so he took the opportunity to deal with the documents that had accumulated over the past few days.

Jiang Fei remained curled up on the sofa in the study, reading a book.

After looking at the documents for a while, Luo Shi habitually looked up at the sofa, but stopped when he saw the woman curled up there.

She was already asleep, her eyelashes gently brushing against her eyelids, her expression serene, the book in her hand lying beside her, her bare feet slightly curled, her ivory-white skin clean and translucent.

Luo Shi carefully helped the wheelchair to the sofa and gazed at her.

Soon, she will be his wife.

From now on, it will belong to him alone.

The doorbell rang suddenly.

Luo Shi frowned and quickly glanced at Jiang Fei, thankfully she hadn't been woken up.

A series of chaotic footsteps came from the corridor outside the door.

Luo Shi's face darkened. He bent down, picked up the blanket from the ground, covered Jiang Fei with it, and pushed the wheelchair outside.

The nanny followed behind Wen Yishu with an apologetic expression: "Mr. Wen, Mr. Luo is not receiving guests today..."

He stopped abruptly when he saw Luo.

Luo Shi squinted, scrutinizing Wen Yishu.

He was very different today; he was unsmiling, expressionless, and pale, staring at him coldly with red in his eyes.

Luo Shi raised his hand to signal the nanny to leave, and then slowly asked, "Mr. Wen, is there something you need?"

“That’s the question I should be asking you,” Wen Yishu said hoarsely, “Luo Shi, what exactly did you do?”

Luo Shi frowned slightly and, supporting himself on the wheelchair, headed towards the stairwell: "Let's go upstairs."

Wen Yishu's hands clenched tightly, her knuckles turning white: "What are you afraid of..."

"She's sleeping," Luo Shi said calmly.

Wen Yishu's voice stopped abruptly. After staring at Luo Shi for two seconds, she let out a mocking laugh and took the lead in walking towards the stairwell.

Inside the study.

As the sounds outside gradually faded away, Jiang Fei slowly opened her eyes.

It would be inappropriate for the main character not to appear at the climax of the story.

It's just a pity that she had seen a picture of that wedding dress before; it was beautiful.

But she couldn't wear it anymore.

Just as I was sighing, a soft knock sounded at the door.

Jiang Fei stepped forward and opened the door.

The nanny stood outside the door: "Miss Jiang, the wedding dress you took to have altered has been changed and brought to you."

Jiang Fei's eyes lit up, and she slowly smiled: "I'll go down now."

...

Upstairs, on the terrace.

The weather was a bit gloomy. Luo Shi rubbed his left leg without saying a word.

Wen Yishu stared intently at him, her hands clenched tightly at her sides as she desperately suppressed her anger: "I'm taking Feifei away."

Luo Shi froze for a moment, but recovered in less than half a second. She lowered her head and chuckled softly, "Mr. Wen said you're taking the woman who will become my wife in a few days with you?"

“Wife?” Wen Yishu’s voice was low and hoarse. “Luo Shi, do you really consider Fei Fei your fiancée? You’re just treating this as a game. You’re the last person in the world who has the right to say that.”

Luo Shi paused for a moment: "Oh, really?" He slowly raised his head, his eyes full of sarcasm, "If I remember correctly, Mr. Wen was also involved in this game back then."

Wen Yishu stared at him, her face pale.

“Furthermore,” Luo Shi lowered his eyes, his voice gradually turning cold, “the wedding invitations have already been sent out, and Mr. Wen should have received them as well. No one can stop this.”

"Luo Shi!" Wen Yishu's voice sounded like it was being squeezed out of her throat. "Do you really think you've covered your tracks perfectly? I made a mistake back then, but what did Fei Fei, such a good girl, do wrong? She just liked someone, but the person she liked was the one who schemed against her the most, and almost ruined her!"

Luo Shi's fingertips trembled slightly, and it took her a while to realize her loss of composure. She gripped the side of the wheelchair tightly.

Wen Yishu chuckled softly, her voice hoarse: "Luo Shi, the day you and Fei Fei got engaged was also the day Luo Wan had a difficult childbirth, wasn't it?"

"Feifei told me that you went to bed very early that night."

"But tell me, how come you stayed with Luo Wan at the hospital all night and rested with Fei Fei?"

"Wen Yishu!" Luo Shi's eyes suddenly turned sinister, and the knuckles of his fingers, gripping the side of the wheelchair, trembled with force.

Wen Yishu's eyes suddenly reddened, and her voice choked slightly: "When Feifei mentioned you, her heart and eyes were full of smiles. But you, the one she loved most, deliberately arranged for another man to enter her room on their engagement night, for Luo Wan's sake, to ruin her reputation..."

A crisp "snap" sound rang out at the corner of the stairs on the terrace.

After a brief silence on the terrace, the two turned their heads almost simultaneously.

A woman in a light champagne-colored floor-length wedding dress stood there, her shoulders partially exposed, revealing her delicate collarbone. She held up the dreamy, wide train of her dress in one hand, while a crown studded with diamonds fell to the ground in the other. Her long, black, wavy hair cascaded down her back, and although a hint of joy still lingered in her eyes, she was now frozen, her face pale, her expression blank, standing there motionless.

Jiang Fei.

Luo Shi looked at her, and for the first time, a clear panic appeared in his eyes.

Wen Yishu was also stunned and remained silent for a long time.

Finally, Jiang Fei gently lifted her skirt and walked down the last two steps, her wedding dress swaying as she stopped in front of Luo Shi.

"Luo Shi," she murmured his name softly, "Sister Zhang said you were on the terrace. I just wanted to come up and ask you if it looked nice..."

Luo's throat tightened.

“But now,” Jiang Fei chuckled softly, her eyes red-rimmed, “Luo Shi, where were you on the day Luo Wan had a difficult childbirth, the day we got engaged?”

Luo Shi's body was tense, his face was deathly pale, and he did not utter a word.

Jiang Fei pressed further, "Who exactly entered my room that night?"

Luo Shi stared at her intently, his hands beginning to tremble uncontrollably.

Jiang Fei's smile gradually faded, her eyes turning ashen. "And how did you get that wound on your chest?" she asked, looking at him with a mocking gaze. "You didn't stab yourself, did you?"

Is this game really that fun?

"Do you feel a sense of accomplishment watching me get completely fooled and fall for you like a complete idiot?"

Luo Shi's gaze narrowed, his heart felt like it was being stabbed repeatedly with a dagger, the pain causing him to curl up in agony. He reached out to grab the woman in front of him: "Jiang Fei..."

Jiang Fei suddenly stepped back, avoiding his hand. Her foot tripped on her skirt, and she staggered violently. Tears welled up in her eyes but finally fell.

"You only approached me for Luo Wan's sake, didn't you?" she murmured. "No wonder... you left without looking back at the engagement ceremony, and even the engagement ring was unsuitable."

Jiang Fei lowered her head, carefully gazing at the ring on her right hand, gently stroking it: "So, from the very beginning, it was never meant to be..."

Luo Shi stared at her movements with eyes full of horror.

The next second, Jiang Fei took off the ring, squatted down and placed it on the ground: "Luo Shi, let's cancel the engagement. I don't want to marry you anymore."
