Chapter 7 Sister-Obsessed Maniac 07

Three days later, the Wen family...

Wen Yishu signed the document and put it aside, then couldn't help but rub her temples.

Just then, the assistant knocked on the door: "Mr. Wen?"

Wen Yishu nodded and smiled: "Take the documents out."

The assistant quickly agreed, took the documents, and left.

Wen Yishu looked away, but her peripheral vision fell on the computer screen next to her, reflecting a smiling face.

He couldn't help but reach out and touch the corner of his curved lips.

Jiang Fei said he didn't have to smile like that.

He also said that he looks much better when he's not smiling than when he is.

Wen Yishu paused for a moment; he was already used to this kind of smile.

I opened the drawer next to my desk and took out a book.

That day, Jiang Fei gave him only a simple and easy-to-understand collection of essays.

Wen Yishu casually flipped to a page, but didn't look at it; she just rubbed it with the back of her hand.

Spending time with Jiang Fei wasn't as difficult as he had imagined; in fact, it was a rare period of relaxation for him during this time.

Wen Yishu looked up at the computer screen again, her curved lips gradually falling into a blank expression.

That day, Jiang Fei also said something—

"If you smile like that at everyone, the person you cherish won't realize how special you are to them."

Wen Yishu frowned, then picked up her suit jacket and walked outside.

...

Luo Wan and Xie Chi have been at odds these past few days.

A few days ago, Xie Chi was very unhappy when she learned that she had gone to see Wen Yishu; she and Wen Yishu had also had an argument because of Jiang Fei.

Even today—the day she went for her prenatal checkup—he didn't show up.

Her body was somewhat weak due to the travel she had taken during her previous pregnancy.

He knew, but he didn't even make a single phone call.

It's always like this.

Luo Wan sat on the sofa with red eyes, waiting for Luo Shi to pick her up.

Only Luo Shi would never refuse any of her requests.

A doorbell rang, and Luo Wan opened the door, expecting it to be Luo Shi, but she was taken aback when she saw who was outside: "Yi Shu?"

Standing outside the door was Wen Yishu.

Instead of his usual elegance, a thin layer of sweat appeared on his forehead, dampening his hair. The smile on his usually gentle face vanished, replaced by an unfamiliar chill and unease.

"What happened?" Luo Wan asked in surprise, taking a half-step back unconsciously, her eyes filled with worry. "Did Xie Chi cause you trouble again?"

Wen Yishu's expression stiffened slightly, and after a long while, she shook her head: "I'm fine, Wanwan."

He was just a little nervous.

He hoped that the woman in front of him could accept him as he was now—him true self in front of the woman he cared about.

"How could that be?" Luo Wan clearly didn't believe it. "You look terrible."

Wen Yishu paused for a moment, his lips moved as if he wanted to say that this was the real him, but when he saw the caution in Luo Wan's eyes, he didn't say it. He just slowly revealed his usual smile: "I'm really fine, Wanwan."

Luo Wan looked him over carefully, the caution in her eyes gradually fading, and nodded with a smile: "Yi Shu, you look most beautiful when you smile."

Wen Yishu was still smiling, but for some reason she felt a little tired of smiling: "I remember you were going to the hospital today?"

“Yes,” Luo Wan nodded, “Luo Shi will come to pick me up in a bit…”

As soon as he finished speaking, a car pulled up in front of the door.

The rear window slowly rolled down, revealing Luo Shi's delicate yet pale face. His gaze swept over Wen Yishu before turning to Luo Wan: "Sister, let's go."

Luo Wan smiled apologetically at Wen Yishu: "Yishu, I'll be going now."

“Okay.” Wen Yishu nodded gracefully, glanced at Luo Shi, and took a half step back.

After watching the vehicle leave, Wen Yishu slowly turned around and walked out of there.

Suddenly, I felt a strong urge to see Jiang Fei.

Even if you don't say a word.

For no other reason than that I'm a little tired.

That's what he thought, and that's what he did. He got back into his car, took out his phone, and dialed the number directly.

The call connected quickly. Jiang Fei's voice was lazy and soft, but the end of the tone rose slightly like a hook, making one's heart tighten: "Brother Wen?"

Wen Yishu lowered her eyes and remained silent for a while before slowly saying, "Do you have time tonight?"

Jiang Fei pondered for a moment: "I'm afraid it won't work tonight. I need to enjoy the starry sky with someone."

"Luo Shi?" Wen Yishu asked softly.

Jiang Fei did not deny it.

Wen Yishu paused for a moment, then said slowly, "He won't show up."

"Um?"

"He accompanied Luo Wan to the hospital today."

"..." Jiang Fei was silent for a few seconds, "Brother Wen, what was your first sentence?"

Do you have time tonight?

"Yes, I have."

After hanging up the phone, Wen Yishu shook her head and chuckled softly.

But he stopped when he saw his reflection in the rearview mirror.

The smile in the mirror had a warmth to it than usual.

...

The meeting with Wen Yishu took place once again on the top floor of the hotel, in that gleaming glass room.

When Jiang Fei arrived, Wen Yishu was already waiting there. Behind him was the bustling night view of Jincheng, and above him were the dazzling stars. He was as beautiful as jade, elegant and noble.

In front of him was a bottle of decanted red wine and a bottle of bubbling champagne, exuding a faint aroma.

Hearing the noise, Wen Yishu turned around and stood up politely: "Feifei."

Jiang Fei smiled, conjured a book from behind her back, glanced at the red wine on the table, and said, "It's only fair to reciprocate."

Wen Yishu took the book and glanced at it. It was an obscure and difficult-to-understand book, and it looked as if she had just randomly picked one up.

He didn't pay much attention, simply took it and placed it on the table, then picked up the red wine and was about to pour it for her.

Jiang Fei frowned: "Mr. Wen?"

Upon hearing her address, Wen Yishu paused, her hand holding the red wine trembling slightly, and her brows furrowed a little: "Hmm?"

"Are you trying to steal my wine?" Jiang Fei said slowly.

Wen Yishu looked up at her and, unusually, retorted, "I can't drink?"

“It’s not impossible.” Jiang Fei picked up the book from the table. “If you’ve been drinking, I’ll tear a few pages out of this book.”

Wen Yishu stared at her silently for a while, then laughed in exasperation. She took her glass, poured her some red wine, and put the bottle back in its place.

Jiang Fei put the book back in its place and looked up at him: "Brother Wen."

Wen Yishu looked at her and inexplicably felt that the way she called her "Brother Wen" sounded better than the way she called her "Mr. Wen".

He asked, "Hmm?"

"You looked much better when you smiled just now." Jiang Fei said, then picked up her wine glass and drank it all in one gulp.

Wen Yishu's expression froze for a moment, and after a long while, she gently rubbed her cheek with the back of her hand.

Jiang Fei looked up at the top of his head; his favorability rating had reached 40.

Without saying anything more, she poured herself another glass of wine.

It must be said that Wen Yishu brought only the best wines.

Wen Yishu's hand rested lightly on the book, as if she was pondering something. The smile on her lips faded, and her brow furrowed.

In front of Jiang Fei, he unconsciously revealed his true self.

It was very easy.

“You just said on the phone,” Wen Yishu suddenly remembered something, “that you wanted to stargaze with someone?”

Jiang Fei tilted her head, smiled, and nodded: "Yes."

Wen Yishu remained silent for a moment again: "...How does Luo Shi treat you?"

Jiang Fei glanced at him: "Same as you."

Wen Yishu's heart tightened.

“You’ve all been very kind to me,” Jiang Fei added, smiling happily with her eyes narrowed. “You’re all very nice people.”

However, another "good person" stood her up, and she'll have to remember that.

Wen Yishu's expression changed slightly as she looked at the woman in front of her who was still kept in the dark, and a bitter feeling welled up in her throat.

"Why are you looking at me?" Jiang Fei snapped out of her drunken stupor.

Wen Yishu abruptly looked away and picked up the book on the table: "It's nothing."

Jiang Fei glanced at the fluctuating favorability rating above his head and gave a mocking smile.

Wen Yishu had been pretending to be gentle and refined for ten years, suppressing her true self under a perfect smile. Now, she was like a gap, allowing him a moment to catch his breath, and he naturally wouldn't let this opportunity slip by.

On one hand, he couldn't let go of Luo Wan and used her for her sake; on the other hand, he wanted to find a moment of peace with her.

How could there be such a good thing?

However, she didn't ask any more questions, poured herself a glass of red wine, and continued to drink.

Wen Yishu quietly turned the pages of her book under the lamplight.

For the time being, the two kept to themselves and didn't interfere with each other.

However, just as Jiang Fei finished a bottle of red wine and was about to pick up the champagne, Wen Yishu seemed to have eyes in the top of her head, and with a long arm, she took the champagne away.

Jiang Fei was puzzled, her flushed cheeks appearing even redder under the light: "What are you doing?"

Wen Yishu glanced at the empty wine bottle and frowned: "Drinking too much wine is bad for your health."

He seemed to be stunned for a moment after he finished speaking.

Jiang Fei raised an eyebrow slightly. Last time, she drank more wine than she did today, and he didn't even spare her a glance.

Now they've taken care of her.

However, she didn't argue. She nodded and obediently put down her glass: "Then I won't drink any wine tonight..."

Wen Yishu's brows relaxed.

Jiang Fei continued, "I'll enjoy the beautiful scenery."

Wen Yishu glanced at her; her eyes were sparkling, whether from drinking or the light, and they looked very sincere.

He quickly lowered his head, feeling that if he looked any longer, he would be sucked in as well.

I forced myself to look at the book on my lap, reading it word by word, but I still felt very uncomfortable.

Wen Yishu gave up helplessly, looked up, and was stunned again.

Jiang Fei held her flushed cheeks in her hands, staring straight at him without blinking, her eyes shining brightly.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Wen Yishu said, both amused and exasperated.

Jiang Feiying: "Isn't the most beautiful scenery right in front of me?"

Wen Yishu was stunned. Meeting her gaze, her ears turned bright red, and her heart became increasingly chaotic, as if something was brewing and fermenting in her chest.

Just then, the cell phone on the table rang loudly, breaking the atmosphere.

Wen Yishu snapped back to reality and looked down.

On Jiang Fei's phone screen, the two characters "Luo Shi" were very eye-catching.

As if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head, Wen Yishu's eyes gradually calmed down. For a moment, he had almost forgotten that this was just a game.

A game he actively participated in.

Jiang Fei answered the phone without saying a word.

Luo Shi's voice rang out first: "Where?"

The sound wasn't loud, but it came through the receiver clearly.

Wen Yishu's expression froze as she looked at Jiang Fei.

Jiang Fei glanced at the sky above and said, "Stargazing."

"Is that so?" Luo Shi chuckled softly into the receiver, a laugh that sounded innocent but carried a chilling undertone. "With whom?"

Jiang Fei glanced at Wen Yishu, who was also staring straight at her, seemingly waiting for her answer.

She pursed her lips, lowered her eyes, and remained silent.

Wen Yishu's throat tightened, a thin layer of anger and a faint bitterness welling up in her heart. But in the end, she didn't say a word, lowered her head, and refused to look at her again.

“Jiang Fei,” Luo Shi said after a few seconds of silence on the other end of the phone, her voice gradually lowering like a homeless stray dog, “I didn’t take my keys.”

Jiang Fei was surprised: "I remember the villa door had a fingerprint lock."

"broken."

"The property management's spare key..."

"Jiang Fei." Luo Shi interrupted her, remained silent for a moment, and then hung up the phone in a huff.

Jiang Fei glanced at her black-screened phone, then looked at Wen Yishu and smiled apologetically: "I'm going back now. Luo Shi didn't take the villa key."

As she spoke, she stood up, but because she was slightly tipsy, she swayed.

Wen Yishu's fingers trembled, but before he could reach out, Jiang Fei had already steadied himself on the table, stood up, walked around him, and was about to head towards the elevator.

But someone grabbed her wrist.

Wen Yishu's voice, tinged with difficulty, rang out: "You like Luo Shi?"
