Chapter 17 The Sister-Obsessed Maniac

Jiang Fei glanced at Luo Shi's clothes, which were faintly stained with blood, and the doubt in her eyes vanished instantly. She ran a few steps towards him with worry, placed her hand on the back of his hand, and looked up at him: "How are you? How did the wound suddenly reopen? Does it hurt...?"

On the surface, he was full of concern, but in his heart he couldn't help but sigh, thinking how cruel the little cripple was to himself.

Luo Shi looked down at her pale face and slightly red eyes. She still liked him.

Her fingers on the back of her hand were as gentle and delicate as ever.

Unlike his icy hands, her hands were warm, so warm that his fingers involuntarily shivered.

Jiang Fei noticed his subtle movement, her worried expression froze, and she slowly withdrew her hand.

They were caught halfway through their retreat.

Luo Shi's fingertips were still stained with blood. When he rubbed them against Jiang Fei's hand, he not only didn't let go, but gripped it even tighter. He looked up at Cheng Ji with a smile and said, "Thank you, Mr. Cheng, for taking Fei Fei in during this time."

Cheng Ji stared expressionlessly at Luo Shi and Jiang Fei's clasped hands, his brows furrowed.

Luo Shi was certain that he wouldn't reveal what happened that night, so she faked the wound, trying to cover it up, sever all ties between him and Jiang Fei, and pretend nothing had happened.

But the person that night was him.

He was also the one with the wound in his chest.

But he simply couldn't see through Luo Shi's scheme.

“Yes,” Jiang Fei turned to look at him with a smile, her eyes visibly relaxed. “Cheng Ji, thank you for taking me in. I’m sorry for the trouble you’ve caused me these past few days.”

Cheng Ji met Jiang Fei's gaze, his heart aching with each beat. After a few seconds, he murmured, "You know you're a nuisance, huh?" He looked up and smiled arrogantly, "Finally, I've gotten rid of you. You're such a pain in the ass."

"Hey!" Jiang Fei glared at him reluctantly, then, remembering something, turned to Luo Shi and smiled: "I want to say a few words to him."

Luo Shi looked at the smile on her lips: "Don't keep me waiting too long."

Jiang Fei blushed, whispered "I know," and then let go of his hand before walking to Cheng Ji.

Cheng Ji looked down at her; the blush on her face hadn't completely faded.

“Cheng Ji,” Jiang Fei paused, remained silent for a long while before finally saying, “Smoking is bad for your health.”

Cheng Ji's body tensed.

This was what she said to him on her first day at the apartment, and now that she's left, it's the same thing again.

Just like she still cares about him.

“Also,” Jiang Fei took out the bank card from before and handed it to him, “I’m sorry to have troubled you, this is for the expenses of staying here for the past few days.”

Cheng Ji looked down at the card in her hand without saying a word.

Before Cheng Ji could respond, Jiang Fei lifted his hand, placed the card in it, and smiled with narrowed eyes: "I'm leaving."

He turned to leave.

Cheng Ji swiftly grabbed her wrist and held it tightly.

Jiang Fei was puzzled and turned around to look.

Cheng Ji didn't look at her, but looked down at the bank card in his other hand, his lips tightly pressed together, gripping her wrist so hard that his fingertips turned white.

Luo Shi calmly looked over there, his blood-stained hand slowly tapping the side of his wheelchair, an eerie gesture.

"Cheng Ji?" Jiang Fei called softly.

Cheng Ji's eyelashes trembled, and after a long while, he opened his mouth: "The kitchen..."

"Hmm?" Jiang Fei couldn't hear clearly, so she leaned forward.

Luo Shi suddenly spoke up: "Feifei, it's getting late."

Jiang Fei realized what was happening, smiled apologetically at Cheng Ji, broke free from his grasp, and waved, "Let's go."

With that, he turned and walked towards Luo Shi without looking back.

The apartment door opened and closed again, and Jiang Fei left with Luo Shi.

The living room was empty and deathly silent, with only the television still faintly playing, but the woman who had been lounging on the sofa was gone.

Cheng Ji stood in the entryway for a long time, but the apartment door remained closed.

He turned and went back to the kitchen. The fish, which had been barely clinging to life, had stopped breathing at some point and lay on the cutting board with its eyes vacant.

I could faintly hear her voice from that night at the bar entrance, laughing as she said, "Then remember to buy tofu and fish."

What he didn't finish saying was: "There's tofu and fish in the kitchen that you want. Shall I cook it for you?"

Cheng Ji swallowed hard, swallowing the sour taste rising in his throat, and grabbed the fish and tofu, throwing them into the trash can together.

Luo Shi.

...

When they returned to the villa with Luo Shi, it was almost ten o'clock.

The weather is clear during the day, and the moon and stars are bright at night.

Throughout the journey, Luo Shi held Jiang Fei's hand tightly, without uttering a word.

As soon as she returned to the living room and the lights came on, Jiang Fei immediately pulled her hand away from Luo Shi's.

Suddenly, her palm felt empty, the warmth vanished, and Luo Shi snapped out of her daze, looking up at Jiang Fei with a frown.

The coolness on my fingertips is back.

Jiang Fei pursed her lips, then forced a smile and whispered, "It's time to go back and rest." With that, she turned and headed towards her guest room.

"Jiang Fei," Luo Shi called out to her.

Jiang Fei's back stiffened, her steps faltering, and it took her a while to turn around: "Hmm?"

Luo Shi fell silent, staring intently at her for a few seconds before slowly looking down at the location of the wound on her chest.

Jiang Fei's eyes flickered for a moment, but she quickly lowered her head: "Luo Shi, I know that you went to pick me up not because you wanted to, but because I am, after all, your fiancée, but living with another man is not good for you."

Luo Shi frowned even more deeply: "When did I..."

“So, during this time, you’ve only called me once,” Jiang Fei interrupted him, “and you don’t actually like me applying the medicine for you, right?”

Luo was stunned.

She thought of the patient expression on his face when she applied medicine to him a while ago.

Did she actually see everything? Then why is she only saying it now?

Jiang Fei pondered for a moment, then walked to the wheelchair, squatted down, and looked at him. "Is it because of Miss Luo Wan?"

Luo Shi's eyes widened in confusion, and his voice was strained: "What?"

“That day, in the study, I saw you and Miss Luo Wan…” Jiang Fei smiled self-deprecatingly, “Luo Shi, I used to think I would be the one to stay by your side, but that day I realized that you didn’t want me to touch you, but you were willing to take the initiative to approach Miss Luo Wan.”

As she spoke, she stood up, paused for two seconds, and then smiled gently: "But I was still very happy to see you at Cheng Ji's house to pick me up tonight."

With that, Jiang Fei turned and went back to her guest room.

Luo Shi sat stiffly in the wheelchair for a while before managing to return to the master bedroom.

The temperature in the master bedroom is always higher than outside. A wave of heat hits you in the face. In the past, it would have felt soothing, like a sudden warmth that warms your bones. But now, the heat makes you feel irritable.

She used to think that she was always by her side, but now? Does she no longer think that way?

Even his injuries can be ignored.

But in fact, Luo Wan never touched his leg.

Luo Shi lowered her head and slowly unbuttoned her white shirt. Her chest, which had been devoid of color, was now covered in gauze stained dark red with blood.

The wound in that spot was inflicted by him personally with a dagger, in the exact same spot as the wound on Cheng Ji's chest in that photo. It was excruciatingly painful.

It was just to cover up that night.

My phone suddenly rang.

Luo Shi snapped back to reality, picked up her phone, and answered it.

“Mr. Luo,” came the private doctor on the phone, “Ms. Jiang said you’re not feeling well. Could you tell me the details? I’ll be there now.”

Luo Shidun's heart skipped a beat.

Did Jiang Fei call the private doctor? She didn't ignore his injury?

"Mr. Luo?" the doctor pressed.

Luo Shi lowered her eyes: "No need to come, I'm fine."

After hanging up the phone, he was silent for a few seconds, then picked up his medicine and pillow and went outside, knocking on the guest room door.

It was completely silent inside.

Luo Shi took out the key and opened the door. The room was dark, with only a small figure curled up on the bed, its back to him.

Hearing the noise, the figure moved slightly but did not turn around.

Luo Shixing went to the bedside and remained silent for a long time: "Luo Wan and I are not siblings."

Jiang Fei did not move.

Luo Shi lowered his head and rubbed his left leg: "Luo Wan has never touched my leg either."

Jiang Fei's back stiffened for a moment.

Luo Shi slowly propped himself up: "Jiang Fei, if you don't believe me... cough..." He suddenly coughed loudly, and the wheelchair fell to the ground.

Jiang Fei sat up, her eyes shining with worry despite the dim light: "Are you alright..."

Before she could finish speaking, she was embraced by the dark figure sitting on the edge of the bed, and the two of them fell onto the bed together.

Jiang Fei was startled and stared at him with wide eyes: "You're lying to me."

"Yes," Luo Shi replied calmly.

Jiang Fei struggled upon hearing this.

Luo Shi continued to hold her, blood flowing again from the wound on his chest as it was pulled. He chuckled softly, "Jiang Fei."

"pain."

I've rarely told someone this openly and honestly since I was a child.

He's in pain.

The lights in the guest room were on full blast.

Jiang Fei looked at Luo Shi's half-naked chest, pale skin, and clean ribs, but there were many scars and bruises left over from the years.

The wound on his chest was clearly made with a knife tip; the flesh was torn open and still bleeding.

Jiang Fei gently touched the wound.

Luo Shi trembled, and a layer of cold sweat immediately appeared on his forehead.

Jiang Fei lowered her eyes; she really hit hard.

Wipe the bloodstains clean, stop the bleeding, disinfect, apply medication, and then bandage it.

The movements were very swift and efficient.

After finishing the treatment, Jiang Fei realized that the medicine Luo Shi brought was not only for injuries, but also for his left leg.

When she looked up at Luo, she took the medicine and was about to touch his left leg.

Luo Shi's legs jerked back quickly.

Jiang Fei paused, then put the medicine aside: "I just called my private doctor, he should be here soon, I'll go check on him."

After saying that, he turned around and was about to get out of bed.

"Come back." Luo Shi's voice suddenly rang out.

Jiang Fei turned her head.

Luo Shi didn't look at her again, but lowered his head, rubbing his left leg with his hand, and pondered for a long time: "...Come here."

Jiang Fei slowly walked up to him.

Luo Shi looked up at her, then placed his hand on his left leg, made up his mind, and slowly rolled up his trouser leg.

Jiang Fei looked at him, then at his left leg, sat back down on the edge of the bed, and gently stroked his calf.

Luo Shi trembled, her face turning pale, but she didn't flinch. She just looked at her and asked, "Ugly?"

Jiang Fei looked up, gazed into his eyes, and nodded: "Ugly."

Luo Shi stared straight at her without saying a word. After a few seconds, he chuckled softly, then his smile grew wider and wider until his eyes were filled with delight.

It was indeed very ugly; even he himself loathed it.

Jiang Fei didn't say anything more, but quietly applied the medicine.

Luo Shi gradually quieted down, his gaze fixed on her, his brows and eyes relaxed.

After some time, he suddenly thought of something.

What did Cheng Ji mean by 'kitchen' earlier?

Jiang Fei: "Hmm?" She immediately realized what she meant, pursed her lips, and said, "Nothing."

Luo Shi lowered her eyes: "I heard that he's been coming home for meals every day these past few days?"

Jiang Fei paused, looked up at him, her eyes sparkling.

Luo Shi frowned: "What?"

Jiang Fei shook her head, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him: "Luo Shi, are you... jealous?"

Luo Shi's gaze froze, and he paused for two seconds.

Jiang Fei put the medicine aside, leaned closer to him, and smiled brightly: "Luo Shi, you're just jealous, aren't you?"

Luo Shifei quickly turned his head: "It's late, I should go to sleep..."

Before he could finish speaking, everything went dark before his eyes. Jiang Fei suddenly pounced on him and kissed his lower lip heavily.

Luo Shi was startled, and his hand instinctively landed on her waist.

Coming to my senses, I was met with a pair of eyes as bright as a galaxy.

Jiang Fei smiled: "Luo Shi, I like it when you're jealous of me."

Luo Shi's favorability rating: 75.

That night, Luo Shi had the best sleep he'd had in a long time.

In his sleep, a hand gently covered his leg, and a continuous stream of warmth flowed towards him.

early morning.

Luo Shi opened his eyes and felt a darkness before him. Along with a faint fragrance and warmth, he saw a smiling face. Jiang Fei was looking at him with a smile: "You're awake?"

She was so close to him that there was no room for even the warmth of her breath to dissipate. His heart skipped a beat, and Luo Shi stepped back, only then realizing that Jiang Fei was already fully dressed.

"how?"

"Let's go buy groceries," Jiang Fei said, shaking his arm.

Luo Shi was taken aback.

Buying groceries?

The next second, the thought of the noisy crowd in the shopping mall and the pitying or gloating looks from everyone made me instinctively feel resistant.

He'd encountered that kind of gaze far too often.

It's pitiful that he looks like this but is disabled. It's gloating that no matter how good his family background or how capable he is, he's just a useless person who relies on a wheelchair.

"No..." Luo Shi began, about to refuse.

“That way, you won’t be jealous of the ‘kitchen’ anymore!” Jiang Fei leaned close to him and winked.

Luo paused, still feeling a slight pain and a tingling sensation from the kiss she had given him last night that had struck his lower lip.

It's hard to refuse.

Half an hour later.

Jiang Fei pushed Luo Shi out of the car, without asking anyone else to follow; it was just the two of them.

The shopping mall was very large, but there weren't many people there in the morning.

However, there were quite a few people buying groceries.

Jiang Fei could clearly sense that as soon as he entered the fruit and vegetable section, Luo Shi's body tensed up immediately, as if facing a formidable enemy.

Many people looked over here, glancing occasionally at Jiang Fei, then at Luo Shi, before finally settling their gaze on his legs and quickly looking away.

Luo Shi sat expressionlessly in his wheelchair, his eyes downcast, not looking at anyone, his hands clenched tightly, the veins on the back of his hands bulging.

"What do you like to eat?" A soft, breathy voice suddenly came from beside my ear.

Luo Shi was stunned. He turned his head and saw Jiang Fei leaning down to speak into his ear. The warm breath he exhaled was like a gentle breeze, clearing away the storm.

“I remember you like bamboo shoots,” Jiang Fei said to herself, seemingly not intending to listen to his response, “but bamboo shoots are cold in nature, you can’t eat too many, you should eat more spare ribs and pumpkin porridge…”

Luo Shi had already withdrawn his gaze. Listening to her murmur to herself, his tightly clenched fist gradually loosened, and his body gradually relaxed along with her soft tone.

“Pumpkin!” Jiang Fei suddenly called out.

Luo Shi suddenly snapped back to reality, looked ahead, and then his expression hardened slightly. There was a corner there, where a lot of people were gathered.

Just the thought of him being there made me feel completely repulsed.

Jiang Fei bent down and leaned close to him, her eyes crinkling into a smile: "Wait for me here."

Luo Shi's frozen expression gradually relaxed, and she nodded slightly.

Jiang Fei smiled and walked forward.

She just didn't expect to run into Wen Yishu here.

Or rather, she didn't expect to meet him so soon.

Across a corridor, the elevator doors opened, and Wen Yishu and several managers stepped out.

Come to think of it, the last time they met was in the glass room on the top floor of the restaurant. Back then, he was elegant and composed. But now, Wen Yishu's face is much thinner, her appearance is pale, her brows are slightly furrowed, and the smile that used to grace her lips has disappeared.

He seemed to sense something, stopped in his tracks, and the group behind him also stopped.

Then, Wen Yishu turned her head and looked in this direction. Her gaze froze, and her Adam's apple bobbed.

"Mr. Wen?" someone reminded him.

Wen Yishu snapped out of his daze and strode toward Jiang Fei. When they were about three steps apart, he stopped and forced a smile: "Feifei, it's been a long time."

Those around her were surprised, glancing cautiously at Wen Yishu before looking at Jiang Fei.

Although no one knows what happened, Mr. Wen, who was usually good-tempered, suddenly became serious and unsmiling not long ago. It is very rare to see him now showing this smile, which even has a hint of ingratiation.

Jiang Fei was quiet for a moment, then nodded: "Mr. Wen."

Wen Yishu's face paled, and the smile on her lips froze: "You're here..."

Jiang Fei brushed a stray hair from her cheek: "I came to buy groceries with Luo Shi."

Wen Yishu stared blankly at the engagement ring on her hand. She and Luo Shi were engaged, so it was only natural for them to go grocery shopping together.

"I didn't go to the engagement ceremony..."

“It’s okay,” Jiang Fei interrupted him. “Luo Shi and I were busy all day that day, so we rested early.”

Wen Yishu's throat felt dry.

Jiang Fei looked at the fluctuating favorability rating above Wen Yishu's head, lowered his head and thought for a moment before saying, "I'm sorry, Mr. Wen, Luo Shi's chest is injured, and I'm worried about him, so I'll go back first."

After saying that, he turned to leave.

"Feifei!" Wen Yishu suddenly called out, taking two steps forward involuntarily.

Jiang Fei stopped in her tracks and turned to look at him.

Wen Yishu stared at her retreating figure, and after a long while, she managed to squeeze out a question: "Are you happy?"

Jiang Fei's eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly calmed down and said with a smile, "I'm happy."

This time, he didn't say anything more.

Wen Yishu remained standing there, letting the crowd behind her wait.

She said she was happy, but why was she flustered?

"Mr. Wen, the car is waiting for you outside." A person next to him stepped forward.

Wen Yishu looked ahead, but Jiang Fei's figure had already disappeared. He turned and walked towards the door, but his steps suddenly stopped a second later.

Jiang Fei said that she and Luo Shi went to bed very early on the night of their engagement.

But that night, Luo Wan had a difficult childbirth, and Luo Shi spent the whole night at the hospital.

He also heard that some time ago, Luo Shi had someone send a family of five surnamed Lin away from Jincheng overnight.

Wen Yishu looked up and suddenly gasped.

A terrible thought sent chills down his spine. The memory of Jiang Fei's gaze just now made his heart ache even more.

Luo Shi is a venomous snake with a flicking tongue; he is capable of anything to achieve his goals.

"Mr. Wen?" The voice next to him grew softer.

Wen Yishu's throat bobbed slightly: "...Help me investigate something."

...

When Jiang Fei returned with the pumpkin, Luo Shi was still waiting in the same spot, without moving an inch.

He was exquisitely handsome, with skin as white as fine jade porcelain. Wearing a white shirt, his innocent and harmless appearance and frail figure were undeniably eye-catching.

He kept his eyes down the whole time, not looking at anyone, his gaze indifferent and mocking.

"Luo Shi," Jiang Fei called to him.

Luo looked up at her and immediately saw her smiling eyes.

Jiang Fei stepped forward and shook the pumpkin in her hand: "Let's go home."

go home.

Luo Shi pursed her lips. She didn't realize it when she said it, but when she heard it, she found the two words particularly pleasant to hear.

He ultimately swallowed back the words that were about to come out.

For example, who she just met.

"Young lady, you're finally back," the auntie suddenly said as the two were about to leave. "I just saw this young man staring straight in your direction, waiting for you to come back. He's such a handsome young man..."

Luo Shi frowned, glanced at the man, and felt a surge of panic.

Jiang Fei smiled at the aunt, supported the wheelchair, and gave a simple reply, but in her heart she was thinking about the words she had spoken to Wen Yishu, which naturally contained an element of acting.

Hopefully he's smart enough...

The aunt, however, was very enthusiastic and kept asking, "But speaking of which, young lady, what is this young man to you?"

Luo Shi paused, his hand holding the wheelchair still. More and more people were gathering around, but he unusually didn't urge them to leave, as if he was waiting for something.

Jiang Fei was still thinking about Wen Yishu's matter and remained silent for a long time.

Luo Shi's expression gradually turned cold. He rubbed his left leg with one hand. In the end, he was just a cripple, a cripple who was neither presentable nor worthy of mention.

"Let's go." Luo Shi lowered his head, coldly tossed out these words, and then proceeded to move forward in his wheelchair on his own.

However, the next second...

“He is my fiancé.” Jiang Fei’s crisp voice came from behind her. Passersby turned to look at her, but she didn’t care. She just smiled at the aunt and said, “He’s the best to me.”

As she spoke, she walked to Luo Shi's side, looked at him, her eyes seemingly filled with shattered diamonds, and smiled brightly: "I like him the most."

Luo Shi looked at her, his heart pounding wildly, unable to stop for a long time, his eardrums thumping, and his parched heart felt as if it had received sweet rain, slowly coming back to life.

The next second, Luo Shi suddenly pulled himself forward in his wheelchair, his hands flailing as he tried to control it.

This time, Jiang Fei didn't help. She quietly followed behind him until they left the shopping mall, got back into the car, and sat opposite him.

"Jiang Fei," Luo Shi called to her.

Jiang Fei looked up, and everything went dark.

Luo Shi suddenly kissed her, his icy lips burning with unprecedented passion, as if he wanted to devour her whole, his rapid breaths mingling with hers.

A passionate yet cautious kiss.

Later, Luo Shi looked at her breathlessly, her lips red: "Jiang Fei, thank goodness you made me wait for you."

If she leaves with Wen Yishu, he doesn't know what he might do.

Having seen heaven, he could never return to hell.

Luo Shi's favorability rating: 90.
