When Jiang Fei returned to the villa, it was pitch black inside.
Luo did not return.
She wasn't in a hurry. She went back to her room and took a hot shower, which barely washed away the smell of alcohol, but her cheeks were still flushed and slightly hot.
As I dried my wet hair, I came out of the bathroom and glanced out the window, only to find that it had started raining again.
At first, the raindrops were large as beans, but later the rain gradually intensified, pounding against the window. A flash of lightning appeared, followed by a rumble of thunder.
Jiang Fei walked to the French windows and touched the raindrops with her fingers through the glass.
It's a bit chilly.
Since she didn't have to act out a scene about being afraid of thunder, she simply brought a pillow and prepared to place it on the carpet in front of the window to enjoy the rain.
Just as Jiang Fei picked up the pillow, there was a sudden sound of a wheelchair rolling outside the door, followed by the door being quickly opened from the outside.
Jiang Fei froze, clutching her pillow, and looked towards the door.
Luo Shi was sitting in a wheelchair, breathing rapidly. His white shirt was dry, but his black suit pants were wet, clinging to his calves at the knees.
He looked at her, then his gaze slowly moved to the pillow in her hand.
The driver behind her was still holding a dripping umbrella: "Ms. Jiang, just now when it started raining, Mr. Luo suddenly said he had to rush back here, saying he was afraid of thunder. In his haste, he bumped into a corner of the wall and scraped his knee..."
“Uncle Wang,” Luo Shi interrupted him.
The driver was startled and eventually left silently.
Jiang Fei chuckled inwardly. If Luo Shi really wanted to interrupt, he should have done so the moment the driver started speaking.
What's the point of interrupting once everything has been said?
But her eyes were bright as she looked at Luo Shi, still showing some fear after being startled by the thunder. She glanced at Luo Shi's knee and saw that, in addition to the rain, there were dark red marks, which must have been bleeding.
Luo Shi lowered his head, but only hummed softly, "I didn't come back because you're afraid of thunder."
But his eyes and brows clearly said, "I'm lying."
Jiang Fei glanced at him.
No wonder Luo Shi was the winner of this game, and no wonder the original owner was attracted to such a man-eating flower.
His facade was truly fragile and vulnerable, making him quite endearing.
If it weren't for the -30 favorability rating above his head.
"Your leg, it hurts a lot, doesn't it?" Jiang Fei looked down at his blood-stained knee, her tone carrying a hint of schadenfreude, but she quickly hid it.
Since he chose the self-inflicted injury strategy, he naturally had to suffer some physical pain.
Luo Shi glanced at his leg. It was intentional; the force was carefully controlled, resulting in a moderate but not severe injury.
Jiang Fei silently turned and walked out, then came back in, carrying a first-aid kit. She walked up to Luo Shi and gently touched his knee.
Luo Shi frowned, remaining motionless.
It felt like those nights before, when she lay beside him and warmed his knees with her palms.
It wasn't until Jiang Fei was about to lift up his trouser leg that Luo Shi suddenly realized what was happening and backed away in his wheelchair, saying, "Don't touch me."
After rebuking him, he was filled with astonishment.
Just now, when she touched his leg, he actually forgot to move away, or rather, he had no intention of moving away at all.
Jiang Fei looked up and stared directly into his eyes: "Your leg is bleeding, it needs medicine."
Luo Shi frowned, and after a while, he looked away and steered his wheelchair outside: "It's none of your business."
Jiang Fei raised an eyebrow, threw the ointment back into the first-aid kit, and remained standing in the same spot.
Unlike before when she tried to touch his leg at the hospital, this time, Luo Shi's affection for him did not decrease.
Luo Shi stopped at the door: "Come here."
Just then, a clap of thunder sounded outside.
Jiang Fei watched his retreating figure, then hugged her pillow and followed him.
It rained heavily that night.
Luo Shi, however, did not treat the wound on his leg. He simply lay in bed, staring at the dim ceiling above him, without feeling sleepy at all.
He was surrounded by a familiar, light fragrance; he could even smell the scent of Jiang Fei's hair, warm and lingering around his nose.
However, he felt cold all over.
Maybe it's because they got caught in the rain, or maybe...
Jiang Fei suddenly turned her body to the side.
Luo closed his eyes and pretended to sleep.
The next second, Jiang Fei gently reached out and habitually covered his leg.
The warmth came from my palm.
Luo Shi was slightly startled, and then felt the chill in her bones gradually dissipate.
...
The next day was a sunny day.
When Jiang Fei woke up, she thought Luo Shi would have already gotten up or left, just like before.
But he paused when he got up and saw the figure on the balcony.
Separated by a glass partition, Luo Shi was sitting there, the morning sunlight quietly shining on him, making him look like a delicate little prince in his white clothes.
Jiang Fei couldn't help but chuckle. Last night, until she went to bed, Luo Shi's favorability rating was quite mixed.
Seemingly noticing the commotion, Luo Shi turned his head and saw the smile on her lips. He frowned slightly, feeling that she was different from her before.
Lazy and... alluring.
"Luo Shi." The next second, Jiang Fei had already regained her previous demeanor and smiled brightly at him.
Luo Shi remained calmly watching her, his favorability rating above his head becoming even more chaotic.
Luo Shi stayed in his study all day, and didn't even eat meals with Jiang Fei.
Jiang Fei didn't mind, and everything remained the same.
But when night fell, the moon and stars shone brightly. After taking a bath, she lazily admired the scenery outside the window.
[System: Host, Luo Shi's favorability rating is fluctuating wildly again.]
Jiang Fei hummed in agreement, raised an eyebrow, and asked lightly, "What was the highest it ever reached?"
[System: 10.]
"What's the lowest?"
[System: -40.]
Jiang Fei slowly stood up: "Then let's go and stabilize the favorability rating."
[System: But host, it's a sunny day today.] There's no reason for you to go find Luo Shi.
Jiang Fei laughed: "He put on such a wonderful show for me last night, so I have to return the favor."
...
Master bedroom.
Luo Shi leaned against the bed. His knee was still a little sore because he hadn't paid attention to it, but he didn't care. He was disabled anyway, so it didn't matter whether he had these legs or not.
But for some reason, I thought of the warmth on my knee.
The warmth of the woman's palm seeped through the thin fabric of her nightgown and into the bones of her knees, a soft, ticklish sensation.
From initially feeling disgusted, to later enduring it in order to deliberately get closer to her, to eventually not avoiding her touch.
This is so unlike him.
Luo Shi frowned, and his hand unconsciously reached out to his side.
The bedside was cold and empty, without a body carrying a warm fragrance, and without even, fine breathing.
There's no thunder or lightning tonight, so Jiang Fei naturally won't come.
Despite the clear weather, he inexplicably felt a chill in his legs.
Luo Shi was stunned, then realized what was happening, his chest filled with rage.
What is he thinking about?
He cleared his mind of the jumbled thoughts and was about to consider his next strategy.
Two knocks came from the door.
Luo Shi opened his eyes, his gaze filled with gloom, but his voice was calm: "Who?"
Jiang Fei's voice: "It's me."
Luo Shi glanced at the doorway: "No thunder tonight."
Jiang Fei was quiet for a moment before speaking softly, "Brother Wen said that the stars in Jincheng are beautiful. Shall we go see the stars?"
"..." The room fell silent. A few seconds later, a rustling sound came from inside. The door opened, and Luo Shi, sitting in his wheelchair, looked up at her expressionlessly. "Who said that?"
Jiang Fei lowered her head, her voice even softer: "Brother Wen."
"So intimate?" Luo Shi looked at her, then continued, "Or rather, so romantic?"
Jiang Fei's face turned pale, and she stared at him in astonishment.
Luo Shi frowned, then, supporting himself in his wheelchair, walked around her toward the elevator.
Jiang Fei remained standing in the same spot.
Luo Shi suddenly stopped, paused for a moment before turning to look at her, his tone soft: "Didn't we say we were going to see the stars?"
Jiang Fei suddenly looked up, her eyes filled with surprise as she looked back at him.
Luo was stunned. Even though it was all an act, she felt that the light in her eyes just a moment ago was more dazzling than the stars.
He turned his head and continued to move forward, supporting himself on the wheelchair.
But suddenly I felt much more relaxed.
Jiang Feimo stepped forward silently and gently pushed him toward the elevator, accompanied by a familiar faint fragrance and voice: "I'm pushing you."
The villa's third floor features an open-air terrace with a swimming pool and seating areas for relaxation, with lights reflecting off the pool's surface.
The stars are indeed very beautiful.
Jiang Fei leaned against the glass railing, looking at the stars above her head, lost in thought.
Especially from the human realm, it's much more beautiful than from the mountains shrouded in mist year-round.
Luo Shi glanced at the starry sky before turning his gaze to the woman beside him who was intently admiring the stars.
It must be said that she was beautiful, with snow-white skin and exquisite features. Especially her hands, with fingers as delicate as scallions, seemed to always be warm, and when she touched his legs, the warmth penetrated to his very bones.
Unfortunately, she was Xie Chi's fiancée, and she broke Luo Wan's heart.
Jiang Fei suddenly pointed to a star in the west and asked, "What star is that?"
Luo Shi looked away and followed the direction she was pointing: "Morning Star."
"So it's the Morning Star?" Jiang Fei murmured softly. "It's not quite the same as what I saw up there."
"What?" Luo Shi didn't hear clearly.
Jiang Fei smiled, shook her head, turned to look at him, and then gently squatted down beside his wheelchair.
Luo Shi raised an eyebrow inwardly, but his expression remained calm: "What?"
"Shall I apply the medicine for you?" Jiang Fei looked up at him, her eyes bright and her eyelashes fluttering. "I'll only apply it to your right leg. Don't worry, I won't look at your left leg."
Luo Shi looked down at her flustered and nervous brows and slightly red earlobes, his eyes lowered to hide his emotions: "Why?"
“Because…” Jiang Fei paused, then chuckled softly, “you will feel pain.”
Luo was stunned.
Jiang Fei gently placed her hand on his knee and shook it slightly: "Is it okay?"
Luo Shi stared intently into her eyes, his gaze even carrying a hint of fierceness at the end, but he quickly suppressed it and nodded almost imperceptibly: "Mm."
Jiang Fei stood up in surprise and turned to go downstairs.
When he returned, he was carrying a first-aid kit, which he placed on the ground.
Because of the lack of sunlight, Luo Shi's legs were very white, but covered with ugly scars. The bluish veins seemed to convey the flow of blood. On his knees, there were scrapes from bumps and a few bloodstains still oozing blood.
Jiang Fei gently supported his leg with one hand while carefully disinfecting and applying medicine.
Luo Shi's legs were initially tense, and he even imagined hundreds of ways he would retaliate tenfold if she showed the slightest fear or disgust. But her expression remained calm.
Later, he gradually relaxed and leaned back in his wheelchair.
"All done," Jiang Fei said cheerfully, putting the first-aid kit aside.
Luo Shi let out a low sigh of relief, his clenched fists covered in cold sweat.
Jiang Fei, however, acted as if nothing had happened. She stood up again, leaned against the glass railing, and glanced at the night sky: "I wonder when the next starry sky like this will be again."
Luo Shi didn't respond, but just looked down at her hands on her lap, lost in thought.
Jiang Fei didn't say anything more.
I don't know how long it's been.
Luo Shi suddenly said, "Three days later."
Jiang Fei: "What?"
Luo Shi looked up at her: "The next time, the starry sky will be like this, in three days."
Because of his legs, the assistant always pays extra attention to the weather.
Jiang Fei thought for a moment and then laughed: "Then let's come and look at the stars again that night."
Luo Shi squinted, scrutinized her for a while, and then nodded: "Okay."
Jiang Fei's gaze swept over Luo Shi's head.
Favorability: -10.
...
As Luo Shi returned to her room from the terrace, the smile on her lips vanished instantly.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, he noticed several missed calls on his phone.
Luo Wan.
Luo Shi was slightly taken aback, then called back.
The call was answered quickly, and Luo Wan's voice sounded slightly downcast: "Xiao Shi?"
Luo Shi lowered her eyes, her expression softening: "Sister, is something the matter?"
"Do you have time in a few days? Come with me to the hospital?" Luo Wan asked softly.
Luo Shi narrowed his eyes, a sinister glint flashing within them: "Isn't Xie Chi going with you?"
“No,” Luo Wan hurriedly said, “I don’t want to see him these past few days, and he hasn’t come to see me again.” Her voice was a little hoarse as she said this.
"Xiao Shi, are you not busy?" Luo Wan asked cautiously.
"Not busy," Luo Shi smiled. "When?"
"The afternoon of the 17th."
Luo Shi's smile paused slightly. The seventeenth was exactly three days later.
"Xiao Shi, if you need anything..."
Luo Shi realized what was happening and gently interrupted her, "It's nothing important, I'll come pick you up later."
