Chapter 21 Sister-Obsessed Maniac 21

It rained lightly last night, and Jiang Fei stayed at Cheng Ji's apartment until the next morning.

As the sky gradually brightened, she quietly tidied her clothes and slowly walked out.

The ground was damp, and the weather was gloomy.

The apartment entrance was deserted; not a single person could be seen.

Jiang Fei took a light breath of the air, which carried a faint scent of earth, and her mood improved somewhat.

Just as we were about to continue on our way.

“Jiang Fei…” From the corner, a hoarse voice seemed to be squeezed out as if rough stones were rubbing against the vocal cords.

Jiang Fei paused and turned to look.

In the corner, Luo Shi, sitting in a wheelchair, hid. His originally pale face was now almost transparent, his clothes were still damp, his hand was pressed tightly against his left leg, and he was staring straight at her, his eyes red from being bloodshot.

Jiang Fei looked at him, raising an eyebrow inwardly. She hadn't expected him to wait here all night.

However, he still looked bewildered.

Luo Shi's Adam's apple bobbed up and down, and then he walked towards her in his wheelchair. His movements paused when he saw the hickey on her collarbone, but he recovered in less than a second and continued walking until he stopped in front of her.

"I'll take you back," he said in a hoarse voice.

Jiang Fei lowered her eyes, and after a long while, she let out a sarcastic laugh: "Luo Shi, you saw everything last night, didn't you?"

Luo Shi's fingers trembled violently.

Last night, from behind the second-floor window, he watched Cheng Ji embrace her, kiss her, and watch her quietly lean against him.

The pain was unbearable.

But there was nothing he could do.

I dared not look, nor dared I leave; I could only huddle in this corner, waiting for dawn to break.

This is retribution.

This is retribution for his past actions.

Jiang Fei looked at Luo Shi, leaned down slightly, and the hickey on her collarbone became even more noticeable: "Even so, you still want to take me back?"

Luo Shi looked up, her eyes even redder, as if she hadn't seen the hickey on Fei Fei's collarbone. She slowly unfurled her tightly clenched fingers, the two wedding rings from last night still lying in her palm: "Fei Fei, let's go home."

Jiang Fei glanced down at the two rings, then smiled after a long while, her eyes reddening with laughter. She reached out, picked up one of the rings, and examined it closely, murmuring softly, "Luo Shi, I really wanted to marry you back then..."

Luo's throat tightened.

The next second, Jiang Fei put the ring back into his palm.

Luo Shi's fingers trembled, and then she heard Jiang Fei say, "I can go back with you."

He suddenly looked up, and a faint light appeared in his lifeless eyes.

Jiang Fei continued, "I have two conditions."

"Okay," Luo Shi replied in a hoarse voice.

"I haven't said what the conditions are yet." Jiang Fei looked down at her right hand, where Cheng Ji had put the engagement ring on her middle finger and Cheng Ji's ring was on her thumb.

Luo Shi followed her gaze, his lips trembling slightly.

Jiang Fei slowly took the ring off her thumb: "I don't want your wedding ring. You're letting someone else enter my room in your place, so why not let someone else stay in your place to the end?"

She handed the ring to Luo Shi, saying, "I want you to wear this ring."

Luo Shi's pupils trembled, and he didn't speak, only staring intently at the ring in her hand.

—A ring given to her by another man.

Jiang Fei waited a few seconds, but received no response, so she got up to leave.

"I promise you." Luo Shi's hoarse voice came from behind, his hands clenched tightly, trembling slightly from the force.

Jiang Fei turned around and looked at Luo Shi.

A few seconds later, Luo Shi's tightly clenched fist loosened, and he looked down at the wedding ring in his palm, the ring he had gone to great lengths to obtain. Then, he turned his hand over and threw the ring into the filthy dirt himself.

The pair of rings he cherished lay on the ground, like worthless trash.

Jiang Fei glanced at the two rings, then looked at Luo Shi: "The second condition..."

As she spoke, she slowly took two steps back.

Luo Shi was also looking at her.

Jiang Fei's gaze fell on his legs, and she parted her red lips slightly, deliberately saying, "Stand up and walk towards me."

Luo Shi's lips turned pale, and he stared blankly at her.

Jiang Fei remained standing in the same spot, meeting his gaze.

A long silence.

No one spoke, and no one moved.

After an unknown amount of time, Jiang Fei gave a self-deprecating laugh, took a small step back, and then turned around calmly.

"Jiang Fei," Luo Shi called her name in a panicked voice.

Jiang Fei stopped in her tracks but did not turn around.

Luo Shi gripped his left leg tightly, gazing at her retreating figure.

With that turn, he knew she would never look back.

Besides the doctor, only she had ever seen this leg.

Only her.

After a long while, Luo Shi reached out and gripped the side of the wheelchair tightly. His knuckles turned white, the veins on the back of his hand bulged, and his arm trembled slightly. With the help of the wheelchair, he struggled to stand up.

"Jiang Fei," he said again. After last night's rainy night, a slight exertion caused a sharp pain that made his whole body tremble, as if a gust of wind could blow it away. A layer of cold sweat instantly rose on his forehead.

The wheelchair suddenly reversed, and then with a loud "bang," it fell completely to the side, with only the wheels spinning in circles.

Jiang Fei turned around.

Luo Shi could only barely support his body with his right leg, which was injured in the ankle, and his whole body trembled uncontrollably.

He tried to move toward her, but the next second he involuntarily fell forward, landing awkwardly on the ground, breathing rapidly, his left leg curling up slightly in pain.

Jiang Fei looked at him and said, "Luo Shi, you can't get here."

Luo Shi struggled to lift his head, looked at her slightly red eyes, and suddenly laughed: "I can't get there, Jiang Fei," he whispered.

Jiang Fei suddenly turned around, took out her phone, and said, "I'll call your assistant and have him come pick you up."

Behind him, Luo Shi remained silent.

Jiang Fei waited a while before dialing her assistant's number.

"Miss Jiang?" The assistant's voice sounded somewhat surprised.

“Hmm,” Jiang Fei responded softly, “Luo Shi is at Cheng Ji’s apartment door, you…”

The sound stopped abruptly.

Her skirt was gently tugged.

Jiang Fei paused for a few seconds before slowly lowering her head.

A pale hand was struggling to grasp the hem of her skirt. Luo Shi fell to the ground in a disheveled state, no longer the harmless and pure figure she once was. She lay humbly in the dust, struggling to crawl to her side, her body covered in filth.

Jiang Fei quietly hung up the phone, squatted down and looked at Luo Shi, her wide eyes filled with tears.

Luo Shi was breathing heavily. He stared blankly at the tears in the corners of her eyes for a moment, then reached out and gripped her hand tightly. After a long while, a slow smile curved his lips:

"Jiang Fei, let's go home."

Luo Shi's favorability rating: 95.

The driver arrived half an hour later.

Luo Shi's consciousness was already somewhat blurred, but his hand was still tightly gripping Jiang Fei's hand.

Even after returning to the villa, his hands did not loosen their grip in the slightest.

His private doctor examined him and sighed, saying that if he continued like this, he probably wouldn't live past forty.

The assistant listened attentively, while Jiang Fei, with one hand held by Luo Shi, rested her chin on her other hand, gazing out the gloomy window.

Just like when I first came into this world.

It wasn't until a cold hand slowly crept onto her face that Jiang Fei came to her senses and realized that everyone else had left, and Luo Shi was staring at her.

After thinking for a moment, she tried to pull her hand away.

Luo Shi gripped her even tighter, rubbing her cheek with his other hand, and whispered, "Feifei, now that you're back, don't leave again."

"Even if I have to crawl, I will find you."

Jiang Fei stared at him for a while, then lowered her head and remained silent.

Luo Shi took her hand and brought it to his lips, almost reverently planting a kiss on it.

For the next few days, Luo Shi did not leave the villa.

Jiang Fei still lives in the original guest room.

It's like going back to the old days.

The difference is that Luo Shi used to be quiet, but now he is almost always looking for topics to talk about, or sitting next to Jiang Fei and never letting her out of his sight.

What Jiang Fei said most often to Luo Shi was to tell him to leave when night fell.

One gloomy night, Luo Shi brought a pillow to Jiang Fei's room and quietly lay down beside her.

Jiang Fei's body trembled slightly, and she asked urgently, "Who?"

Seeing her reaction, Luo Shi felt a pang of sadness, and after a long while, he called out to her in a low voice, "Feifei."

Jiang Fei's back stiffened. She didn't turn around, nor did she gently stroke his leg. She simply turned her back to him and curled up into a ball.

That day.

When Jiang Fei woke up, Luo Shi was still by her bedside as usual.

She seemed used to it; without looking at him, she got up to leave.

"Feifei," Luo Shi called out to her.

Jiang Fei paused in his steps.

Luo Shi was silent for a few seconds before saying with difficulty, "There's no food left at home." Jiang Fei turned around to look at him, her eyelashes trembling slightly, before her expression returned to its usual indifference: "Just have someone send some over."

Looking at her still somewhat moved expression, Luo Shi wheeled himself over to her and said, "Let's go buy groceries."

Jiang Fei moved her lips, but did not say anything in refusal.

Luo Shi smiled and said, "I'll have someone arrange it."

Luo Shi's people acted quickly, delivering them to the supermarket entrance in less than half an hour. They then wisely stayed in the car without disturbing the two.

It's the same shopping mall as last time.

Jiang Fei did not push the wheelchair, remained silent, and even deliberately chose to walk in crowded places.

Luo Shi's face was slightly pale, but he still quietly followed beside her, step by step.

When Luo Shi arrived at the pumpkin display case, her gaze became unfocused. She suddenly remembered the day she returned from the supermarket, when she was cooking pumpkin porridge in the kitchen. Because of his jealousy, she kissed him lightly, a fleeting kiss. She seemed to remember it clearly now.

He unconsciously stopped his wheelchair and looked at Jiang Fei, who was still walking forward: "Feifei."

Jiang Fei stopped and turned to follow his gaze. The moment she saw the pumpkin, she quickly looked away and walked to the side.

Luo Shixiao's smile froze slightly, and after a long while, she slowly followed.

After some time, someone nearby suddenly laughed and joked, "Aren't you the young couple from last time? You're shopping for groceries together again?"

Jiang Fei turned her head and saw the aunt who had asked her about her relationship with Luo Shi last time. Meeting the aunt's gaze, Jiang Fei pursed her lips and remained silent.

Luo Shi's hand tightened slightly. After waiting for a while without the person next to her speaking, she looked up and said, "We're not a couple."

The aunt was puzzled.

Luo Shi looked at Jiang Fei and smiled gently: "We're getting married."

Therefore, they are husband and wife.

After leaving the shopping mall, almost everything was bought by Luo Shi, while Jiang Fei silently followed beside him.

She got into the car when her phone rang.

Jiang Fei paused, then took out her phone and glanced at it.

She hadn't expected it to be a message from Wen Yishu; it was just a simple sentence: "Feifei, I'm at the corner behind the shopping mall. I want to see you."

Having completed her mission to win over Wen Yishu, Jiang Fei wasn't really interested in meeting him again. However... she glanced at Luo Shi's favorability rating and replied with a simple "good".

After replying, she looked up and met Luo Shi's gaze.

Jiang Fei paused slightly, then lowered her head and said softly, "I need to go to the restroom."

Luo Shi looked at her without saying a word.

Jiang Fei frowned: "Luo Shi?"

Luo Shi suddenly smiled and nodded gently: "Okay."

Jiang Fei pursed her lips and got up to get out of the car.

"Feifei." Luo Shi suddenly called out to her.

Jiang Fei turned to look at him.

Luo Shi squinted, tilted her head at her, and smiled sweetly: "I'll wait for you to come back."

Jiang Fei hesitated for only a moment before turning around and quickly leaving.

There's a sloping road at the corner that blocks the view from outside.

The man in the black suit stood there quietly, then turned around when he heard footsteps behind him.

Jiang Fei never expected Wen Yishu to look like this: his cheeks were pale, he had lost a lot of weight, his eyes were slightly sunken, and his once handsome face had become sharp. Although he was still handsome, he had a sickly and decadent look.

Those eyes, which were originally dark and deep, only showed a little light when they saw Jiang Fei, and he took two big steps toward her: "Fei Fei".

His voice was hoarse and unpleasant.

Jiang Fei's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she lowered her eyes and said softly, "Brother Wen, is something the matter?"

Wen Yishu looked at her with eyes full of heartache: "Feifei, I know everything that happened before."

Jiang Fei asked in confusion, "Brother Wen?"

“It’s just a few business deals,” Wen Yishu walked up to her. “Feifei, Luo Shi ruining the Wen family’s business has nothing to do with you. He wasn’t sincere with you at all. A person like him doesn’t know how to love someone…”

Having said that, Wen Yishu seemed to have made up her mind and reached out her hand to her: "Feifei, come with me."

Jiang Fei looked at Wen Yishu's well-defined hands, remained silent for a few seconds, and then gently raised her hand...

"Jiang Fei!" A panicked voice came from afar, its tone distorted with panic.

Jiang Fei turned her head.

Luo Shi was sitting on the slope not far away, staring straight at the two of them.

Behind me was a busy road with cars coming and going.

He had noticed something was off about her in the car. Following her here only confirmed his suspicions.

Wen Yishu, she really is a persistent ghost.

Thinking of this, Luo Shi's expression suddenly turned sinister.

He won't let Jiang Fei leave.

I would rather die than do that.

Luo Shi slowly placed his hand on the wheelchair's brakes, looking at Jiang Fei.

Jiang Fei's face turned pale instantly, and she stared at him intently.

Luo Shi suddenly laughed; he liked the way she looked worried about him.

The next second, he slowly released the brake.

The wheelchair began to move towards the road on the slope, and its speed increased.

Jiang Fei's eyes widened in shock, her face pale. Then, disregarding everything, she ran towards him as fast as she could. Once on the road, she hugged Luo Shi tightly, shielding him in front of her.

"don't want……"

The low murmur was filled with trembling.

A screeching sound of brakes rang out from the side, and the car came to a stop just in front of the two of them.

The smile on Luo Shi's lips had vanished, replaced by terror.

He didn't expect her to rush up to him; he just wanted her to choose him.

But she protected him.

She shielded him with her frail body.

"Jiang Fei..." Luo Shi called her softly, the fear coming slowly but powerfully, his eyes slightly moist, his hands trembling as he embraced her.

Jiang Fei held Luo Shi tightly for a long time before letting go, her eyes wide open, trying to hold back her tears: "I wasn't worried about you..."

Luo Shi's hands were still trembling as he wiped away her tears, murmuring, "I know, I know."

Jiang Fei pouted, tears still streaming down her face, and then choked out, "I didn't want to leave with Wen Yishu."

Luo Shi's hand froze, and he looked up, staring intently at her.

Luo Shi's favorability rating: 99.
