Chapter 68 A Different Freedom.

The way back is not the way here, and Song Xu did not meet the people she had met before on this new road.

At first, she tried to find familiar scenery along the way, but later found it futile, so she had to give up and focus on the new things in front of her.

Just a few months after they left the beach, Wumu, who once needed to learn to walk, could run skillfully and speak much more fluently, but the frequency of his speech still depended on whether Song Xu teased him today.

Without deliberately looking for a way, Song Xu saw familiar terrain for the first time. The continuous forests, behind which was a large wilderness, where she once met two half-orc friends.

In this stretch of forest, the big snake once left many terrifying legends to the petite beastmen who lived here. Now that they have returned here again, the green forest has turned into an autumn color.

They crossed the autumn forest and came to the wilderness.

In the small thorn forest with sour jujube trees and hawthorn trees, there was a simple house that Song Xu had built before. Such a simple house should have fallen apart after a few storms, but Song Xu looked at the small house and guessed that after they left, the house must have been repaired and is still in good condition now, able to shelter from the wind and rain.

However, it looked like no one had been inside for a long time.

Song Xu only took two glances at the house and walked towards the nearby tribe.

She told the little sheep Qingzao that if he could pass by here again when he came back, he would definitely come to say hello to her.

On the hillside not close to the tribe, Song Xu first saw a flock of sheep. It was an ordinary herd of wild sheep. There was a black shadow wandering beside the white sheep. It looked like some kind of canine.

The other party walked on the grass with the sheep, like a warrior guarding the sheep.

Noticing the two strange beastmen approaching, the black dog with long pointed ears changed into beastman form and stood up, looking at them on the hillside.

"Hello!" Song Xu started shouting from a distance, "I want to ask, are Qingzao and Junjie from your tribe here?"

When she finished shouting this, she saw a lamb wearing a colorful feather necklace in the wild sheep behind the black dog beastman.

The feather necklace no longer had the bright colors it once had. It was probably faded by wind and rain, dull and unnoticeable.

Song Xu paused, and the smile on her face also stopped.

The little lamb was grazing with its head down, making tender bleating sounds. She and the flock were carefree, like clouds moving in the sky.

"Qingzao has become a complete wild sheep." The black dog beastman also looked at the sheep wearing a feather necklace in the flock, "Are you the friend who gave her the feather necklace?"

Song Xu: "Why is it so fast... Isn't she an adult not long ago?"

Wumu persisted for several years and did not completely turn into a beast. She thought that other half-beasts would not turn into beasts quickly either.

"Some orcs don't want to turn into beasts and will stay in their orc form for a little longer. Some orcs look forward to turning into beasts, so they will change faster." Black Dog Orc said.

"Has Qingzao stayed here after turning into a wild sheep?" Song Xu stood at the foot of the hill.

"I thought she would leave here and go to a farther flock of wild sheep, but I didn't expect that she would stay here in the end." Black Dog Orc said.

Maybe the lamb that said she wanted to turn into a wild sheep and have a companion was still attached to this place in her heart, and she didn't really want to leave.

"Who are you?"

"Her mother." Black Dog Orc turned into a black dog again and walked at the edge of the flock.

She didn't get close to the lamb with the feather necklace, but when she walked nearby, the lamb would occasionally approach her in a daze. The calm black dog would lick the furry lamb twice, and then watch her hopping back to the flock.

It was strange, when they confirmed that Qingzao was a half-orc, they seemed to have some tacit understanding and no longer got close to each other, but when Qingzao really turned into a beast, she came here every day to help maintain order in the flock and drive away the beasts that wanted to hunt the flock.

"Then, do you know what happened to Thorn?"

"Thorn changed faster than Qingzao. On a rainy night, he turned into a wild horse and left the tribe, and never came back." The black dog answered her in a calm tone.

She showed neither rejection nor enthusiasm towards Song Xu. After answering, she followed the flock and left to another hillside.

The wind blew through the weeds and hit her calves. The dark clouds hung low, as if it was going to rain.

Song Xu, who was looking at the flock of sheep from afar, was picked up. The big snake held her by the waist and took her to the flock of sheep: "Go play."

Song Xu shook her legs: "That won't do."

Wu Mu's tone was cold, as if she could not be refuted: "No, there is no way.

" Song Xu retorted: "Definitely not."

As soon as the big snake approached with the squirrel, the flock of sheep ran away.

Song Xu smiled and said, "You see, it won't work."

What she meant by "no" was that the smell of the big snake scared the sheep, and the sheep would run away if it got close.

"Let's stay here for a few days." Song Xu tapped Wu Mu's chest with the back of his head, "I'll play with my friends for a few days before leaving."

They returned to the house Song Xu built in the small thorn forest, crawled in, and cleaned it up a little. Pushing aside the piled hay inside, Song Xu found a pile of wool underneath.

It seems that after she left, her friends secretly prepared gifts for her.

Song Xu fell on the soft pile of wool.

"Are you tired and want to sleep?" Wu Mu asked.

"Are you asleep?" Wu Mu asked again.

Not hearing a reply, he changed into a half-beast form, swam over, and wrapped his partner, who was lying motionless, in his tail. The tail squeezed inward, wrapping her and the big ball of wool together.

It started to rain outside, and the sound of raindrops hit the trees. Wumu rarely saw Song Xu unhappy, and she would usually get better soon, so he held her patiently and waited, but it was almost dark and she was still not well.

Wumu suddenly found the trees behind the awning, which were full of small red fruits, and he got up and swam over.

The red hawthorn fruits with raindrops fell on the side of Song Xu's head with a crackling sound. She smelled the fresh and sweet hawthorn fragrance and sat up: "The hawthorn is ripe!"

Seeing that she was talking again, Wumu rested his head on her belly with confidence.

Song Xu held Sheshe's head and gnawed on the red hawthorn that he had just picked.

"This is too sour, why is it so sour..." It was so sour that he wanted to cry.

The next day was a sunny day with bright sunshine. Song Xu let the big snake sleep in the grass and quietly approached the wild sheep on the hillside with fresh grass stems.

Black Dog was also there today. She lay down beside the wild sheep and slept. Song Xu touched the edge and whispered, "Qingzao! Qingzao! I'm here to play with you!"

The lambs now couldn't understand her words. Probably all the lambs thought she was saying hello to them, so they bleated one after another. Song Xu had no choice but to sneak into the flock, find the lamb with the necklace, and lure her with grass stems.

The lamb was easily deceived by her and was easily lured aside and fed with a pile of grass stems and tender leaves.

"...I saw the sea. Do you know what the sea looks like..."

"Mee." "

...The island in the sea, that sinkhole..."

"Mee."

When Song Xu finished chatting and was about to leave, the lamb that had been nibbling grass raised its head and nibbled off a piece of grass stuck on her body, nudged her, and Song Xu smiled and touched her head: "Thank you." The

black dog, who acted as a sheepdog, did not drive away Song Xu's continuous visits to play with the lamb, and did not react even when it saw a squirrel running around on the lamb.

After staying here for a few days, Song Xu left again with the big snake. The lamb did not know that her friend was leaving again. She ate grass happily with her companions, but the faded feather necklace was taken off and replaced with a beautiful little conch.

After leaving the wilderness, the way back to the tribe became clear. Song Xu turned in another direction and suddenly said, "Actually, there's nothing to do in going back. Why don't we go somewhere else? We haven't been there yet."

Wumu agreed. He didn't have to go back to the beast tribe.

The two of them temporarily changed direction and headed for a new path.

In fact, the mountains and waters were still similar. Most of the time, it depended on Song Xu's mood where to go. She would use branches to point the way and choose the direction. Wumu said nothing, just followed her, like a child who was led by the teacher on a spring outing.

This child would occasionally rebel and was unwilling to take the road chosen by Song Xu. She wanted to take her around.

Song Xu always thought that he was avoiding dangerous beasts until one time she was really curious about why Wumu took a detour and forcibly dragged him forward.

Near the stream, she saw a snake beastman.

Song Xu understood instantly: that's what happened.

She thought he was avoiding wild beasts, but she didn't expect he was avoiding snake beastmen specifically. No wonder she didn't see any snake beastmen along the way. It turned out that he was being avoided. It seems that Wumu is also very clear about her preference for snakes.

The big snake next to her still had a cold face, and didn't show any strange expression because his thoughts were discovered. He asked her seriously: "Do you want to be his partner?"

Song Xu guessed that if she nodded, Wumu would go up and beat up the innocent passerby snake in the next second and drive him out of her sight.

The competition for partners in the beastman world is so straightforward.

"Of course not, you are the most beautiful snake! Unique, no snake can compare to you!" Song Xu quickly turned around and walked back, deciding that next time he would never casually wonder what was on the road that Wumu didn't let him go. It is very immoral for a couple to quarrel and hurt innocent passers-by!

In the beastman world, partners are rarely fixed, and Song Xu would also be curious whether Wumu wanted a partner who was not so noisy and troublesome, or a stronger partner like his mother.

"Wumu, what about you, do you want another partner?"

"Partner, you."

"Others, lions, tigers, wolves, or another snake?"

"Partner, you."

"How strange, your taste is weird, hahaha! Have you really never thought about it?"

"Hiss!"

Song Xu was frightened, Wumu really bites when he gets fierce, and he shut up instantly.

Song Xu found that even if she said a lot of sweet words and coaxed the snakes to circle around her, the next time they accidentally met a snake beast on the road, Wumu would still quickly drive them away.

Song Xu watched them leave and thought of a classic emoticon: a man and his girlfriend were walking on the street, but his eyes were on the passing beauty.

However, she didn't even look at the other snakes twice, and she couldn't even see what patterns on their bodies.

Sitting on a stone with a deep face waiting for Wumu to come back, Song Xu took a bite of the dried hawthorn brought back from the small thorn forest.

Sour, so sour! It's so sour that it makes people want to laugh.
