8 Menggui High School (8)
They weren't going to buy candy, they were going to their deaths.
Small cheers rang out in the classroom. The players' eyes were filled with joy, and the tense and numb emotions of the NPC students were visibly relaxed.
Qin Fu'an closed the book and walked out of the classroom as the bell rang.
He walked to the corridor window, smiled, and said to the dean of students who had turned his head back, "I have fulfilled my mission. I think I have not disappointed you, Dean."
The dean of students turned to look at Qin Fu'an with a satisfied expression. "You're very good. You'll definitely be on the list of graduates from our Menggui High School this year."
This means that one of our students has already secured a spot at graduation.
But Qin Fu'an showed no joy. Instead, he nodded slightly, leaned closer to the strange director, and whispered, "Director, graduation is just too easy for me. To be honest, I'm actually very worried about the senior students' college entrance exam results this year. If you can trust me... how about I take Teacher Zhang's place and teach a few more classes for the senior students? It would be a small contribution to the school."
The head of the teaching department never expected that Qin Fu'an's purpose was this.
It frowned, about to retort, but was caught off guard and looked into those dark green eyes again.
After a moment of blankness, it nodded blankly, its tone revealing a struggle and bewilderment: "Okay, I believe you. I'll go talk to the principal about this later."
"Thank you very much, Director. Don't worry, I will never let you down." Qin Fu'an raised an eyebrow and smiled, watching the Dean of Students' large figure slowly and heavily disappear at the end of the corridor.
He lowered his hand, turned around, and met the cold, scrutinizing eyes by the classroom window.
Seeing his aloof deskmate, Qin Fu'an raised his eyebrows, leaned over and peered through the window, bracing himself against the window with one hand and extending the other towards his deskmate.
Xie Yunhuai: "?"
Under his questioning gaze, Qin Fu'an raised his hand and said with a half-smile, "Little Xie, give me back my candy."
It's no exaggeration to say that the moment Xie Yunhuai heard Qin Fu'an's words, his eyes widened in disbelief. He even lost his composure, his voice tightening slightly: "Didn't you buy that for me?"
"Yes, it's a pity that your picky eating seems to have been cured without any cure, so my candy is naturally useless."
Qin Fu'an fabricated a long and rambling story, then stretched out his clearly defined palm in front of Xie Yunhuai again, casually demanding repayment: "Give it back to me. I know you haven't eaten it yet, and I'm actually quite eager to try it."
Upon hearing this, Xie Yunhuai swallowed back the words "I've already eaten" that were on the tip of his tongue.
His face darkened further, his fingers slowly clenched into fists at his sides, and he looked down at Qin Fu'an's open hand in front of him. After a moment of silence, he coldly told the truth: "I threw away the candy."
His pale face flushed with embarrassment and anger as Qin Fu'an pressed him closer. Xie Yunhuai looked up and met Qin Fu'an's gaze, and said seriously, "If you want to eat it, I'll go buy it for you now."
Qin Fu'an could see his embarrassment and anger at this moment.
He even saw Xie Yunhuai's all-encompassing, pitch-black soul tremble and curl up some of its edges.
If you ignore the size, to be fair, it's kind of cute.
The next second, the hand that was originally outstretched in front of Xie Yunhuai suddenly flipped over, and then, without warning, it was raised and gently patted the top of his head.
Xie Yunhuai was taken aback when he was photographed.
He suddenly looked up and stared at Qin Fu'an, who was withdrawing his hand.
His eyes were slightly red at the corners, but his gaze held a resolute and icy killing intent.
Qin Fu'an's hand froze in mid-air, and he spoke before Xie Yunhuai could: "You threw away my candy."
The murderous intent in Xie Yunhuai's eyes faltered.
Qin Fu'an continued, "I went to buy it specifically."
Xie Yunhuai: "..."
He got up, ready to go to the cafeteria right now to buy a hundred candies to give to the person outside the window.
But he was blocked.
"Get out of the way." Xie Yunhuai frowned.
Qin Fu'an pointed to the clock on the blackboard and said, "There are only 3 minutes left before class starts. If you go out now, you're not going to buy candy, you're going to your death."
"..." Xie Yunhuai took a deep breath, but couldn't figure out how to say anything to Qin Fu'an.
Qin Fu'an didn't give him a chance to speak at all, and grabbed him by the back of his hand and walked towards his seat.
"Actually, I saw you throw away the candy." He said casually as he walked away. "If you don't like candy, that's fine. I'll buy you something else next time. Don't throw away the ones you don't like. Put them in my desk for me to eat."
Xie Yunhuai's wrist was not released until he returned to his seat.
Although he knew he was in the wrong, he still emphasized impatiently after hearing Qin Fu'an's words: "We are just classmates."
"Shouldn't classmates help each other?" Qin Fu'an tilted his head innocently: "We're even deskmates, so we should be closer than ordinary classmates."
Xie Yunhuai: "..."
He felt somewhat powerless.
Given Qin Fu'an's personality, he should have kept his distance from him from the very beginning.
Xie Yunhuai pulled out a chair, sat down, and took out the textbook he would use in the next class to look through it.
With two minutes left before class, those two minutes seemed to stretch on endlessly with Qin Fu'an present.
Fortunately, someone nearby noticed the gap and came over.
"Hello..." Nan Zhu was more reserved and cautious in front of Qin Fu'an than before, and looked at him as if she were looking at some unassuming big shot.
She mentally considered her words again before asking, "You must be a player too, right?"
When she asked the question, Qin Fu'an tilted his head and noticed that his little classmate didn't seem confused or surprised at all. He then realized that it must be a special mechanism of this dungeon game, which was why these players were communicating and searching for the game rules without any reservations after the first class.
When Nan Zhu asked, Qin Fu'an didn't try to hide anything and nodded to indicate that her guess was correct.
With just a simple gesture of acknowledgment, Nan Zhu and the players who were quietly observing behind her all breathed a sigh of relief. Nan Zhu even smiled and said to Qin Fu'an in a friendly manner, "That's great, boss. If you need any assistance from us in the future, please don't hesitate to ask. We will do our best not to hold you back!"
This can be considered a subtle yet direct request for protection.
But her attitude and conversation were handled very well, and she didn't make people feel annoyed.
After saying this, Nan Zhu respectfully placed a portion of the items she had bought before the game started on Qin Fu'an's desk.
Whether Qin Fu'an needs these props or not, at least she has shown her sincerity.
To her slight relief, Qin Fu'an did not show any sign of refusing her words or the props.
Nan Zhu managed her time very well; the class bell rang just as she returned to her seat.
Looking at the items on the table, Qin Fu'an became even more interested in this so-called dungeon game.
A pen, two bottles of eye drops, a roll of bandage that can quickly stop bleeding, and a piece of chocolate that can quickly restore hunger.
Qin Fu'an estimated that Nan Zhu had used up at least half of her own reserves, after all, she had only cleared two beginner dungeons.
After the school bell rang, Qin Fu'an originally planned to put all these things into the underside of his desk.
But out of the corner of his eye, he caught his little classmate's curious and puzzled gaze.
Qin Fu'an paused slightly, then quickly tore off the chocolate wrapper before the teacher walked in, broke off a small piece, and stuffed it into his unsuspecting classmate's mouth.
Xie Yunhuai blinked blankly, his tongue instinctively pressing against the small piece of food that had been stuffed into his mouth. He quickly tasted a hint of bitterness, followed by a rich and mellow sweetness.
He sipped the chocolate in his mouth and turned to look at Qin Fu'an.
Meeting his gaze, Qin Fu'an waved the chocolate in her hand and stuffed it into his desk.
"Do you remember what I just told you?" Qin Fu'an pointed to Nan Zhu's upright back and raised an eyebrow, "If you throw it in the trash again this time, you'll have to go to her and buy it to compensate me."
Xie Yunhuai looked in the direction he was pointing, then quickly looked away.
He rarely eats these snacks.
To be precise, none of the students at Menggui High School have ever bought any snacks from the cafeteria.
In his memory, this was the first time Xie Yunhuai had eaten snacks since he had been trapped in this university for so long.
Because he had never eaten it before, he didn't throw the candy away immediately when Qin Fu'an put it in his pocket for the first time.
It would have been fine if I had never tasted sweetness before, but now I'm forced to.
The rich chocolate spread from the tip of my tongue in my mouth, and the smooth, sweet taste of the melted chocolate quickly filled every corner of my mouth...
It was only a small piece, so it melted completely in my mouth very quickly.
Xie Yunhuai felt a rare pang of regret, but it lingered for only a short time. He quickly remembered the whole piece of chocolate Qin Fu'an had put in his desk, and the regret was quickly wiped away by the lingering pleasure.
After the taste in his mouth disappeared, Xie Yunhuai could no longer keep up with what the teacher was saying.
He couldn't help but frown in frustration, gripping his pen tightly, trying to calm down and listen to the lecture, but his brain seemed to be melted and occupied by sweet chocolate, and he couldn't concentrate on the lesson no matter what.
-
Qin Fu'an didn't interrupt the class. He didn't need to. No matter how much the strangely-looking teacher on the podium talked, the homework wouldn't be difficult for him.
On the contrary, Qin Fu'an was more looking forward to the lunch break after this class.
This period should be the "safe time" that this so-called game instance gives players to find the rules and understand the background, right?
With this anticipation of the unknown, Qin Fu'an finally got to finish class.
