Chapter 72 Sleeping Statue (12) Goldfish

Even though Yue Ya said during the broadcast that this island was the Lost Island, the passengers whose destination was Jellyfish Island also got off the ship. After what happened last night, who would dare to stay on a ferry full of ghosts?

The port they were at was relatively small, with a row of boats neatly docked. The islanders were busy on the boats, delivering boxes of fresh catch to the dock. This scene was very down-to-earth, but the players had a shadow over seafood, and just looking at these full boxes of seafood made their stomachs churn.

The ghost ship blew its whistle and slowly evaporated under the sunlight.

After the ghost ship disappeared, the players and passengers breathed a sigh of relief.

One passenger held up his cell phone and said with a sad face: "It's really unlucky to be tricked into boarding a ghost ship and wandering to a place like this. There is no cell phone signal..."

After this passenger started the conversation, the others remembered that they had cell phones. They took out their phones and tried to contact the outside world. Their hands were shaking because of their huge emotional fluctuations.

"No signal, no signal... still no signal!" Someone pressed the screen of his mobile phone frantically, and his voice was tinged with tears: "I just wanted to go diving on Jellyfish Island with my friends, why did I encounter such a thing... All my friends are dead..."

The traveler squatted on the ground with his head in his hands, crying bitterly.

"I was nearly eaten by a ghost last night. Although I escaped death, I lost one eye..." Someone covered his eyes and cried about what happened last night.

"Where is this? Can we get home alive?"

"I want to leave here, I want to go home and have a good night's sleep, I want to... live."

The crying sound spread among the crowd. They stood under the scorching sun but still felt very cold.

Using NPC's emotions to influence players' mentality is a common tactic in this dog game, but this trick doesn't work on Yueya and the others. Listening to the crying sounds one after another, they remain calm.

Zhuang Yan carried the still sleeping professor on his back and yawned, "Let's find a hotel first and settle down. We can also have breakfast there. I'm really hungry now."

"I'm hungry too. I ate once after entering the dungeon and threw up everything." Hongcha rubbed his stomach and said, "This island is so big, there must be something we can eat."

Yue Ya looked around and found that four players were missing.

The man in black looked very bad, with a low pressure all over his body. Noticing Yue Ya's gaze, he opened his pale lips and said, "Xiao Ya didn't get off the boat. I went to wake her up today. Her room was very clean, without any suspicious signs. I thought she had left first. But she didn't get off the boat. Something happened to her..."

Yue Ya pursed her lips and said, "My condolences."

The man in black wiped his face in pain: "I knocked on her door before I went back to my room to rest last night, but she didn't respond. I thought she was asleep. If I had been more suspicious, would the ending have been different?"

The leather jacket man sneered, "If you had been more suspicious, you might be dead now."

The man in black frowned and stared at the man in leather: "You told me last night that Xiaoya had gone back to her room to rest. Did you really see her go back with your own eyes?"

The leather jacket man pulled the corner of his mouth, his eyes a little sinister: "Do you doubt me?"

Black Clothes: "I just want to know the truth."

"She's dead. Do you know that the truth can bring her back to life?" The man in leather jacket crossed his hands and glanced at the woman in black. "I saw her return to the room with my own eyes, but I don't know when and how she died. I know you all don't like me, but I just told the truth last night. Don't make malicious assumptions about me here. Her death has nothing to do with me. Do you understand?"

The man in black lowered his eyes, frowned and stopped talking.

Yue Ya observed the expression of the man in leather jacket, seeming to be thinking about something.

The leather jacket man glared at Yue Ya unhappily, then swaggered forward: "I don't want to waste time here with you guys."

When the man in leather jacket passed by, Feifei suddenly shrank into Yueya's arms and buried her head in his arms.

Feifei seemed a little afraid of the man in leather jacket. Yueya frowned. He remembered that Feifei dared to breathe at the man in leather jacket on the ferry, but now she was not willing to face him.

The sound of his companions' conversation brought Yue Ya back to his senses.

Hongcha glared at the back of the man in leather jacket and said: "Why is this guy so annoying? Even his back is so annoying."

The man in leather jacket paused, his shoulders shook angrily, but he didn't retort to Hongcha. He just quickened his pace and walked away.

Hongcha made a face at the back of the leather jacket man: "Omitted."

The man in black was still a little depressed. Xuecha patted his shoulder gently and said, "Don't be too sad. The island is more dangerous than the ferry. Xiaoya definitely doesn't want to see you in this state."

"I know. I'll cheer up." The man in black clothes said hoarsely, "Thank you."

[Both beautiful sisters are so gentle, my heart is moved]

[This leather jacket guy is really annoying! I feel like his reaction is a bit exaggerated. Could he really be related to Xiaoya's death?]

[He gives me the feeling that he has bad intentions, but I don’t have any evidence, so I can’t convict him based on my feelings alone]

[However, players can stay away from him based on their feelings. It is better to be safe than sorry.]

Players formed teams at random and went to inquire about the news of the inn.

Yue Ya had not walked a few steps when he heard a noise. He turned his head and saw that the tourist NPCs were following a few islanders.

The islanders had simple smiles on their faces and enthusiastically took them onto a fishing boat.

Yue Ya frowned and raised his voice to stop them: "Stop, what are you going to do?"

Several passengers turned to look at him and answered loudly: "The people here are very nice. They promised to send us back by fishing boat. Go and ask other islanders for help!"

Some passengers had already boarded the fishing boat. Yue Ya felt a little uneasy and said coldly, "Get off quickly! Don't go!"

The passengers didn't listen at all. They seemed to be overwhelmed by the thought of going home. They blindly believed that these strange islanders they had never met would do their best to see them off, and they swarmed onto the fishing boats.

Their faces were full of smiles and hope.

"Of course I'll leave if I have a chance to do so!"

The student NPCs from the Academy of Fine Arts looked at this scene with longing in their hearts.

"I really want to leave with them, but I still have to follow the professor to find the Temple of Art."

"I don't know why, but my feet are a little out of control. I really want to walk to the fishing boat."

Not only the NPCs, Yue Ya also had this feeling, as if some kind of force was influencing their state of mind and luring them closer to the fishing boat.

He followed his intuition and saw a blond boy hiding in the shadows on the fishing boat, holding an empty fish tank in his hands. The boy raised his head, and on his white, almost transparent face there was only one huge eye and a beautifully shaped lip.

The blond boy looked at Yue Ya without blinking and smiled.

The blond boy looked so strange, but the people on the boat didn't react at all. It was unclear whether they couldn't see him or were deceived by an illusion.

"Did you see that? There is a weird blond guy on the fishing boat!" Zhuang Yan took a breath.

"I see. He may have the ability to bewitch people." Yue Ya immediately summoned puppets and asked them to arrest the blond boy.

The blond boy was very sharp. After teleporting to avoid the puppet's attack, he raised his lips provocatively at Yue Ya. A group of tiny goldfish appeared in the empty fish bowl held by the blond boy, swimming around in the water. The smile on his face continued to grow. He stretched his slender fingers into the fish bowl, picked up a goldfish, and cruelly threw it to the ground.

"Ah!" The middle-aged man on the fishing boat fell to the ground, rolling in pain, just like the little goldfish struggling on the dry floor.

The passengers were startled, some moved forward while others stepped back, like a school of frightened little fish.

"Huahua..." The fishing boats set sail and left the port carrying the passengers.

The fishing boats cannot be allowed to leave!

Yue Ya drove the puppet to attack again, and other companions came to help, but none of them succeeded -

The blond boy smiled and smashed the fish tank, and the entire fishing boat suddenly disappeared.

Zhuang Yan cursed, "Damn it! His control is so strong that once the passengers boarded the ship, they became fish in his tank. He could do whatever he wanted to us. We didn't even have time to rescue them."

Yue Ya closed her eyes and sighed softly: "There will be another ghost ship on the sea."

Hongcha was silent for a moment: "How many monsters like this are there on this island?"

Zhuang Yan: "I feel quite a lot."

[I met a tough guy right after arriving on the island. I started to worry about them]

[Isn't this level a bit too difficult? Usually this kind of situation either has a hidden story, or has hidden rewards or hidden side quests]

Perhaps because of the shaking from the fight just now, the professor woke up after mumbling something in his sleep.

Zhuang Yan breathed a sigh of relief: "Teacher, you are finally awake, shall I put you down?"

"I feel dizzy." The professor's voice was weak, and he regained some strength after a while: "Where are we?"

"The Lost Island." Yue Ya replied calmly.

The professor's cloudy and tired eyes brightened up: "We have arrived at the holy land!"

Yue Ya saw that the professor was in much better spirits and asked him about what happened last night. However, the professor could not remember anything and just touched the back of his head and said he had a headache.

There was a big bump on the back of the professor's head, which might have been caused by the historian couple hitting him, or it might have been injured during the process of moving and lifting.

The professor checked the backpack and was relieved to find the ancient books intact. He asked Yueya, "Why are you not here? Where are the other students?"

Yue Ya: "They went ahead to find a hotel, let's go too."

There are not many artificial traces on the island. The buildings are exquisite, ancient and solemn. Statues can be seen everywhere on the pier, and most of the themes are related to gods, animals and stars.

These statues have almost no traces of carving, and even if they are occasionally incomplete, it does not affect the overall beauty. They are either lifelike or full of imagination and vivid, and can be called masterpieces.

The professor was completely fascinated by the statues. When he took out his sketchbook, Yueya quickly stopped him and said, "Teacher, we have plenty of time. You can draw as long as you want after you settle down."

The professor reluctantly put away the notebook and left with Yueya and the others.

Behind them, a statue slightly curled its lips and silently watched their backs.
