Chapter 10: Kneeling in the Ancestral Hall

Lin Su was shocked and stood up suddenly. As she walked out, she asked anxiously, "What's going on?"

Qin Yao followed, "She ate biscuits after washing her hair, and then vomited."

"Aren't the cookies finished?"

"I still have some left. I gave it to her when I saw she was greedy." Qin Yao felt that the trouble must have been caused by the cookies he gave her, so a guilty expression appeared on his face.

Lin Suyin was so anxious that Qin Ni didn't notice his expression and asked again: "She vomited three times, why did you tell me now?"

"Isn't vomiting normal? I used to vomit often, but never three times in a row."

Lin Su frowned, "Vomiting is not normal, especially three times. Next time this happens, you must tell me in time."

Seeing that Qin Yao didn't answer and his face was not very good, she continued: "I don't mean to blame you, I'm just afraid that I might not notice it at some point, and you will find it as soon as possible and remind me."

Hearing this, Qin Yao hummed softly.

When the two arrived at the yard, they saw Qin Ni sitting weakly on a chair, her back slumped against the chair, her face pale and her eyes dull.

Lin Su became even more anxious when she saw this. She hurried over, picked the person up and walked out.

Qin Yao hurriedly followed.

Qin Keke wanted to go too, but Grandma Lin caught up with her and stopped her. "Don't go, dear boy. Your mother is taking your sister to see a doctor and can't take care of you. Be good and wait at home with Grandma."

Qin Keke refused, but they had already disappeared.

The other side.

Carrying Qin Ni, who was quite heavy, she walked quickly for a long time. Lin Su felt a little exhausted, her forehead was covered with sweat, and her pace slowed down involuntarily.

When Qin Yao saw this, he quickly took the person over.

The two of them took turns carrying the child, and when they finally arrived at the village clinic, they found that it was closed.

Just when the two were in a panic, a voice rang out.

"What's going on?"

The village chief Lin Daqiang rode over on his bicycle and asked them when he saw them.

Lin Su was like seeing a savior, and quickly asked him for help, "Uncle San, this girl is sick, and the clinic is closed. Can you take us to the hospital in town?"

Seeing that Qin Ni's face was pale, Lin Daqiang quickly signaled them to get in the car.

Lin Su held Qin Ni and sat in the back, while Qin Yao sat on the big bar of the bicycle.

Lin Daqiang often does farm work, so he has no pressure taking care of an adult and two children. He steps so fast that he almost kicks out sparks.

Half an hour later, they finally arrived at the town hospital, and Lin Su hurriedly thanked Lin Daqiang.

Lin Daqiang knew that Lin Su was in poor health, and Qin Yao was still a child and couldn't do much, so he simply stayed, took Qin Ni and ran to the doctor's office.

After the doctor asked some questions and examined me, he concluded that I needed an IV drip.

When she heard that she was going to have an IV drip, Qin Ni, who was holding on, suddenly started struggling, and Lin Daqiang, a grown man, almost couldn't hold her.

Lin Su was afraid that she would do something extreme, so she quickly took her from Lin Daqiang's arms and comforted her gently, "Don't be afraid, Nini. The injection is just like an ant bite. It will be gone in no time. Be good."

Lin Su's voice was even gentler than usual. She held Qin Ni in her arms, rocking her slowly while soothing her head with her hands.

If outsiders saw them, they would definitely think they were mother and daughter, but that is not the case.

Qin Ni struggled violently and her nails accidentally scratched Lin Su's neck, but Lin Su was not impatient or angry. Instead, she continued to comfort her patiently.

Unspeakably gentle.

Sometimes even biological mothers are not so patient and gentle with their own daughters, let alone stepmothers.

Has mother ever coaxed them like this?

I can't remember.

Qin Yao was watching from the side, and for some reason his eyes felt particularly sore. He bit his lips tightly and turned his head away, not watching anymore.

Qin Ni struggled and broke into a sweat, but gradually calmed down as Lin Su called her "Nini" again and again, and in the end only faint sobs remained.

Qin Ni was so greedy for the warm embrace that she forgot to resist Lin Su, and because Lin Su was anxious, Qin Ni also forgot to keep a distance from her.

After Qin Ni had the IV drip, Lin Su remembered that they were too close before, and Qin Ni didn't reject it at all.

This made Lin Su very happy. She wanted to touch Qin Ni's head, but she was afraid that she would resist after she realized what was happening, and then do something extreme that would affect the infusion.

However, she still tentatively sat down on the edge of the bed, and she secretly breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Qin Ni didn't react.

Qin Yao had been watching from the side, and when he saw Lin Su's cautious look, he felt complicated.

Is she really a vicious stepmother?

Or was it just acting? But it was so realistic.

"Qin Yao, you stay with my sister. I'll go see your third grandfather off." Seeing Lin Daqiang was about to leave, Lin Su hurriedly chased after him to thank him.

Lin Daqiang waved his hand and whispered, "Why thank your family members? But don't be too nice to them, or you might end up meeting an ungrateful person."

Lin Su smiled and said without refutation: "They are all good children."

Lin Daqiang knew what she meant. He sighed helplessly and turned away.

Lin Su was afraid that Qin Ni would have a dry mouth, so she borrowed a cup from the nurse station to get some hot water, and put the three drops of spiritual spring water produced in the space into the cup.

After she left, Qin Yao behind the door lowered his head with a complicated expression.

Is there really someone who is so true, kind and beautiful?

Nurses station.

A middle-aged woman asked the nurse with a sly look in her eyes, "Hey, girl, I have something to ask you."

The nurse looked at her impatiently, "Can't you see I'm busy?"

The woman said in a good-tempered tone, "I saw it. I just want to ask one thing. Is the girl you just admitted to the ward called Qin Ni?"

The nurse was very busy and wanted to send her away, so she said hurriedly: "Yes, yes, go quickly, don't delay my work."
