After dinner, Qin Yao took Qin Keke's leftovers to feed the chickens, but he didn't see the old hen after looking around. He thought it was because it was dark and he didn't look carefully, so he took his father's flashlight and looked around again.
As a result, he searched inside and outside but still couldn't find it. Qin Yao became anxious.
"The old hen is missing." he shouted anxiously.
Hearing Qin Yao's words, Lin Su and his group all stood up.
"Why is it gone? It was there before." Grandma Lin looked around quickly.
Qin Sui frowned and said, "I saw it in the yard before dinner."
"Yes, I saw it too." Lin Su added.
The whole family hurriedly looked for the hen in the yard, but the yard was so small and there were no weeds, so they could see at a glance that there was no sign of the hen.
Qin Sui went to the back of the house to look but couldn't find it. Grandma Lin then went outside with a flashlight to look for it, muttering as she walked, "Could it have escaped and been taken away by something?"
Qin Sui suddenly remembered the movement he had seen before. He couldn't tell whether the black shadow was a human or an animal.
"Grandma, don't go out. I'll go look for her." Qin Sui took the flashlight from Grandma Lin's hand and went out.
Lin Su hurriedly followed, but she didn't let the three kids follow because it was getting dark.
Qin Sui was a soldier indeed, with sharp eyes. After walking around, he fixed his gaze on the footprints on the ground and the steamed buns left behind. There were traces of chicken pecking on the steamed buns.
"Someone must have come to take him away." Qin Sui concluded.
Lin Su frowned, "I didn't hear the rooster crow."
Qin Sui: "The chicken's neck must have been pinched, so it can't scream."
"Ah...what should we do now?" Lin Su asked.
In this age without surveillance, if a chicken is lost, there is no way to find it. It is dark now, so there is no way to find any witnesses.
Qin Sui followed the footprints forward, and suddenly there were several more pairs of footprints in front of him. They were messy and overlapping, and he couldn't tell which pair they belonged to.
There are no more footprints ahead.
But judging from the footprints, they seem to be a woman's, and they're a little pigeon-toed.
Qin Sui was analyzing seriously when he suddenly heard a scream from behind him. When he turned around, he saw Lin Su falling to the ground.
He quickly ran over and helped the man up.
"Wait, hiss, I think I twisted my foot." Lin Su cried out in pain.
It was pitch black here and it was inconvenient to see her feet, so Qin Sui picked her up and carried her sideways towards home.
It was dark and Lin Su didn't look at the road. She didn't know how she twisted her body. When she came to her senses, she found that she was being hugged. The two of them were in close contact again, and she felt a little embarrassed.
"I'd better go down by myself."
Qin Sui didn't look down at her, but said in a low voice, "Don't move."
The man's magnetic voice was full of warnings, and Lin Su was a little scared and stopped moving.
They returned home in silence. When Grandma Lin saw Lin Su being carried back, she immediately asked nervously, "What happened?"
Qin Sui answered for Lin Su, "I twisted my ankle."
"Ouch, is it serious?" Grandma Lin looked distressed.
Lin Su quickly shook her head.
Qin Yao glanced at his stepmother, pursed his lips, and went to close the gate first, then pulled Qin Keke, who was walking unsteadily, to follow.
Qin Ni also followed silently.
The whole family gathered around Lin Su, which made her feel a little touched. "It's just a little...hiss..."
Lin Su originally wanted to say that it was just a minor injury, but Qin Sui suddenly twisted his body, and she gasped in pain.
Qin Sui let go, "No bones are hurt, just a minor sprain. Wait a minute, I'll give you some medicinal wine."
They often have wrestling training, so they are prone to injury. Even someone as strong as Qin Sui is easily injured, so naturally they have some medicinal wine at home.
Qin Sui quickly came back with the medicinal wine.
Seeing Qin Sui squatting down naturally and preparing to give her a shot of medicinal wine, Lin Su's toes couldn't help but shiver.
Fortunately, she doesn't have athlete's foot, otherwise it would be a bit of a spoiler in this ambiguous scene.
However, when Qin Sui touched her feet, she couldn't help but cry out in itch.
Qin Sui was originally holding it loosely, but when he saw her moving around, he simply held on tightly.
Qin Sui's palm is slightly larger, and Lin Su's feet are white, tender and small, and can be held in one hand. They are smooth and tender, like peeled eggs.
Qin Sui's eyes darkened a little, and his fingers involuntarily exerted a little more force.
Lin Su was hurt by his grab, but the injury on her ankle was more painful, so she gritted her teeth and endured it.
Qin Keke couldn't help but stepped forward to help Lin Su blow on her clothes, "Hoohoo, it doesn't hurt."
Lin Su was so moved that tears welled up in her eyes, and all the pain seemed to disappear at this moment.
"Thank you, Coco, dear boy. I don't feel any pain anymore."
After hearing what Lin Su said, Qin Sui suddenly retracted his strength, and someone instantly cried out in pain.
Lin Su glared at Qin Sui, and the latter's mouth corners unconsciously rose.
"Although there are no broken bones, you should not walk for the time being," Qin Sui said.
Grandma Lin quickly agreed, "Yes, yes, I'll be responsible for picking up and dropping off both kids."
Qin Yao spoke up at this time, "We don't need to be picked up."
"That won't work. What if you get lost on the road or are kidnapped?" Grandma Lin firmly disagreed.
Qin Yao was speechless.
He really wanted to say that he was already a grown-up boy and would not get lost or kidnapped, but how could he not know about his grandfather's good intentions, so he remained silent.
Qin Ni didn't say a word from beginning to end. She didn't know what to say, and even if she wanted to say something, she wouldn't open her mouth.
She felt that she had lost the ability to speak.
To promote their relationship, Grandma Lin said to Qin Sui, "If the chicken is gone, it's gone. Don't look for it anymore. Qin Sui, Susu will have to trouble you to carry her back to the house."
Thinking that this was not enough, Grandma Lin changed her tone and said, "How about this, Keke sleeps with me, and you and Susu sleep in the same room. I'm afraid it will be inconvenient for her to get up at night."
