Chapter 6 Return to the Qin Family

Seeing her eyes tightly closed and her face pale, Grandma Lin was anxious and panicked and quickly called out to the middle-aged woman walking in front of her, "Niu Erjia, come and give me a hand!"

Niu Er's family quickly ran over to help carry the person.

Although it was urgent, Grandma Lin still settled the three children first.

"Big kid, you know the direction of home, right? If not, ask someone. Remember to tell your sister not to run around. When you get home, feed your brother his medicine. I'll take your mother to the clinic and will be back soon."

After saying that, he hurriedly chased after him. This Niu Erjia guy ran really fast.

Qin Yao curled his lips as he looked at their backs.

She is not my mother.

Qin Yao complained as he walked.

Is the vicious stepmother so weak? Could it be a self-torture trick?

"Do you think the vicious stepmother is playing a trick on me?" Qin Yao asked Qin Ni as he walked quickly.

The latter followed closely, and looked up at him blankly when he heard the words, "What meat? Do you want to eat meat for breakfast?"

Qin Yao: “…”

A heartless foodie.

Lin Su regained consciousness after being treated by Xiao Wu. As soon as she opened her eyes, she asked, "How's Keke?"

Grandma Lin patted her arm unhappily and said, "Come on, take care of yourself first."

Lin Su's voice sounded a bit nasal, probably because she had a cold.

Xiao Wu prescribed some medicine for her.

The family also prepared some Chinese medicine that Lin Su usually took. Grandma Lin thought that she would go back later and stew the Chinese medicine with chicken to nourish Susu.

Lin Su, who had recovered, looked less scary than before, and Grandma Lin's worries finally settled down.

The two of them didn't stay long before heading home.

When she got home and saw Qin Yao sweeping the floor, Grandma Lin's face looked better.

Although they cannot be blamed for what happened today, it was also caused by them. Susu is weak to begin with, and if anything really happens, her life will be over.

Seeing Qin Yao being so considerate, Grandma Lin no longer had any resentment in her heart.

"Is Keke feeling better?" Lin Su asked with concern.

Qin Yao glanced at her, nodded without saying anything.

Lin Su was worried, so she went to take a look. She reached out and touched Coco's forehead, and it was no longer hot.

It seems that the child has a good resistance.

Seeing that Qin Keke was still sleeping, Lin Su covered him with a blanket. When she was about to leave, she saw Qin Yao standing at the door, staring at her with a pair of wary eyes.

Like a wolf guard.

Lin Su sighed helplessly, "You don't have to be so wary of me. It wasn't me who caused Keke's cold, and there's no need for me to harm him. Otherwise, I won't be able to explain to your father, right?"

Qin Yao didn't say anything.

Lin Su didn't care. She stood up and touched Qin Yao's head when she passed by him. Not surprisingly, she got a little wolf cub with its fur standing on end.

After teasing the child for a while, Lin Su's mood improved, but she felt really uncomfortable, so she had to lie down and rest.

She was still a little confused when her grandmother woke her up.

"The meal is ready." Grandma Lin touched her forehead and said, "It's still a little hot. Have you taken the medicine?"

"I ate it."

"Okay, get up and eat."

"good."

Lin Su fetched some water to wash her face, and when she came out, the three children were already sitting at the dining table.

Qin Keke was in good spirits and was drinking porridge with a spoon.

Qin Yao helped Grandma Lin distribute the chopsticks, while Qin Ni stared at the stewed chicken in the middle in a daze.

After Lin Su sat down, Grandma Lin first gave her a chicken leg and then divided the other chicken leg among the three of them.

Seeing this, Lin Su quickly gave most of the chicken thigh meat in the bowl to her grandmother, and even protected the bowl and said, "If grandma doesn't want to eat it, I won't eat it either."

Grandma Lin smiled helplessly.

The three kids ate the meat silently, and Qin Ni ate it the most happily among them.

She seemed to enjoy everything she ate.

Lin Su didn't have a good appetite to begin with, but seeing how happily she ate, she added another half bowl of rice.

"When will we go home?" Qin Yao suddenly asked while eating.

Lin Su paused, "Do you miss your grandma?"

Qin Yao was choked and immediately lowered his head to concentrate on eating without making any sound.

Lin Su looked at the other two kids, "Do you want to go home too?"

If I go back to that home, I would be ordered to work and not have enough to eat, and sometimes I would be beaten and scolded. But here, not only do I not have to work, I can eat enough and I won’t be beaten or scolded. Even a fool would know what to choose.

Qin Ni was concentrating on eating and didn't reply to her, while Qin Keke looked at Lin Su cautiously, then turned to look at Qin Yao, who didn't give any hint.

As a last resort, he could only say, "No."

Lin Su was satisfied and picked up some food for them with a smile.

After dinner, Qin Yao rushed to wash the dishes, and Grandma Lin couldn't persuade him.

"Grandma, let him wash it. This kid is very stubborn. He probably doesn't want to eat for free." Lin Su advised.

Grandma Lin sighed, "I think he has a very twisted personality. How are you going to get along with him in the future?"

"There's no need to rush this." Lin Su was very open-minded.

She was not anxious, but Grandma Lin was very anxious.

Qin Ni still didn't talk to them. Although the little girl didn't show it, she was very wary of them.

Her braids were not allowed to be touched, and they remained crooked. She would not answer questions asked to her, and most of the time she would even pretend they did not exist, immersed in her own world, and no one knew what she was thinking.

Look at Qin Keke who is playing with stones. He is small but not easy to fool. Susu caught a cold today because she carried him, but he is still not close to Susu.

I knew they disliked Susu because of her status as a stepmother, but I didn't expect them to dislike her so much.

Alas, it turns out to be just as Susu said, this matter cannot be rushed.

By the evening, Qin Keke had felt much better.
