Chapter 4 Returning to My Mother's Home

Grandma Lin greeted him with surprise and joy, "Why are you back?"

Seeing these three children, she guessed they were Qin Sui's and asked again, "Why did you bring them all?"

Lin Su smiled and said, "I'm afraid you'll be too lonely, so I brought them here to liven things up for you."

Knowing that she wasn't telling the truth, Grandma Lin didn't ask any further questions. She just smiled kindly at the three children and said, "Good kids, come into the house quickly. Grandma will make you some malted milk."

When they heard that there was malted milk to drink, the three kids were so greedy that their saliva started to water, but they were worried that this was their stepmother's home, so no one expressed their opinion for a while.

Qin Keke was not used to being held by Lin Su, and he twisted himself to get out of Lin Su's arms. Qin Yao held him in his arms skillfully, and Qin Ni snuggled up to Qin Yao. The three children looked around vigilantly, like little wolves who had just arrived in a strange place and were always on guard.

Lin Su laughed at this, and Grandma Lin glared at her, "Let them in quickly."

"Hey, come in and drink malted milk." Lin Su said.

No one answered.

The three kids were still standing in the yard, looking around but not at Lin Su.

Lin Su felt helpless and said to Grandma Lin, "They don't listen to me."

There was no other way, Grandma Lin had to go by herself.

She could see that these three kids obviously didn't like their stepmother Susu, and even hated her a little.

It is said that being a stepmother is difficult. Susu will have a lot of trouble in the future, and I have to help her ease the relationship.

"It's cold outside. Big boy, hurry up and bring your brothers and sisters inside. Grandma will make you some malted milk."

After Grandma Lin finished speaking, still no one responded, so she had no choice but to pull Qin Yao into the house.

When Qin Yao entered the house, Qin Ni would follow him in.

Grandma Lin had a kind and amiable face, which made Qin Yao relax his guard against her a little. After a little hesitation, he still followed Grandma Lin's strength and entered the house.

After entering the house, Qin Yao secretly warned his younger brothers and sisters, "Don't drink her malted milk. Don't forget that she is a vicious stepmother. Her malted milk must be poisonous."

Qin Ni and Qin Keke nodded obediently.

However, when the sweet and fragrant malted milk was served, Qin Ni and Qin Keke's eyes were instantly glued to it.

Qin Ni was afraid of being hungry and became extremely fond of eating. Qin Keke was too young and his self-control was not as strong as Qin Yao's. In addition, he had been tempted by his uncle's children with malted milk for a long time, so he had no resistance to malted milk and even developed a bit of obsession with it.

Both of them forgot what Qin Yao said and just stared at the malted milk in Grandma Lin's hand.

Grandma Lin made the tea in a cup. She picked up the cup and handed it to the youngest Qin Keke first. The latter couldn't resist the temptation and reached out to take it, but her hand was knocked away by Qin Yao.

"Don't take it!"

Qin Keke was hurt by the beating and felt greedy, so she closed her eyes and burst into tears.

Qin Yao frowned and watched him cry.

Grandma Lin looked at Qin Yao disapprovingly, "How can you hit your brother?"

Qin Yao ignored her.

Lin Su noticed something and bent down to look Qin Yao in the face. "Are you afraid that I'll poison you? Or do you simply not want to eat anything from my house?"

Lin Su's eyes are very beautiful, as if they have a special magic that makes people relax their guard unconsciously.

Qin Yao was slightly startled, but then frowned and avoided her gaze.

Lin Su didn't get angry, but drank all three cups of malted milk. Then she said to Grandma Lin, "Grandma, take out the malted milk and make it in front of them."

Grandma Lin sighed and did as she was told.

Lin Su continued, "This isn't my malted milk. It was given to me by your father. If you don't drink it, I'll get it for free."

After saying that, Lin Su walked out.

Without her around, the three kids weren't so nervous anymore.

After Grandma Lin re-made the malted milk in front of them, Qin Keke looked at Qin Yao with tears in her eyes. Qin Ni didn't want it either, but waited for Qin Yao's permission.

Qin Yao pursed his lips, and finally reached out to take the malted milk handed to him by Grandma Lin, giving it to his younger brother first, then to his younger sister, and finally to himself.

Seeing how quickly they drank, Grandma Lin said sympathetically, "There's more, drink slowly. When you're done, I'll make you some more."

The three kids were busy drinking malted milk and ignored her.

Thinking that this was the malted milk bought by his father, Qin Yao drank it with a sense of venting his anger, avoided the hand extended by Grandma Lin, and brewed the malted milk himself.

When I saw that my younger brothers and sisters had finished theirs, I continued with theirs.

Seeing them drinking one cup after another, Grandma Lin was afraid that they would feel full, and she wanted to say something but was afraid to.

I'm afraid that if I tell the sensitive Qin Yao, he will think I'm stingy, and then the relationship between them and Susu will only become more strained.

Fearing that they would harm themselves by drinking, Grandma Lin had no choice but to call Lin Su over.

Lin Su looked at Qin Yao helplessly, "Your father will buy meat for dinner later. Can you eat meat after drinking so much?"

Qin Yao thought it made sense, so he stopped drinking and didn't let his younger brother and sister, who were obviously full, continue drinking.

It was the first time for Qin Ni and Qin Keke to drink all-you-can-drink malted milk, and they both felt a little unsatisfied, but they listened to Qin Yao and put down their cups obediently.

Looking at the three babies with a strong milky smell, Lin Su's lips curled up slightly.

The three children have different personalities. In her initial impression, the eldest child, Qin Yao, is taciturn, precocious at a young age, and has a gloomy feeling that is not in line with his age.

He was clearly the leader among the three children, and the second and third children all listened to him. During the time they spent together, Lin Su could sense that Qin Yao was the most hostile towards her.

Erwa Qin Ni was a quieter child than Qin Yao. She didn't say a word during the half day they were together. She was so quiet that she had no sense of existence.

His hair was dry and messy, and the motherless child even had his braids tied crookedly.

The third child, Qin Keke, was the first one she came into contact with. He was a little boy with a big heart and couldn't resist the temptation.

Thinking of this, Lin Su tempted him with malted milk.

"Coco, we have to stay here for one night. After dinner, you can sleep with me. I'll make you some malted milk."

As soon as Lin Su finished speaking, Qin Yao pulled Qin Keke over and stared at her with a look of kidnapping a child, his eyes full of vigilance, like a cat with its fur standing on end.
