Chapter 116 First, pass the test

As evening approached and there were no entertainment options, everyone went into their tents to rest.

Some people didn't want to be crammed in with so many people, so they drove to a grove of trees a few dozen meters away and stopped.

Xie Yin parked his car a few hundred meters away from them.

Jiang Shu woke up in the middle of the night, and Xie Yin opened his eyes as well: "Are you going?"

Jiang Shu frowned slightly: "I have a feeling something is going to happen."

Xie Yin: "Then let's go."

He started the car, and the engine noise was muted so that few people would notice him driving at night as long as the lights were off.

There were no lights in this grove, and Xie Yin didn't need any.

Under the cover of darkness, the two drove closer to the seaside.

After Jiang Shuyin got out of the car, she seemed to hear something unusual.

Amidst the sound of waves crashing against the shore, there was also the sound of a child crying.

Having just learned to use her mental power, she was not yet proficient in how to master it, and her thoughts were spreading outward along with her mental power.

Xie Yin: "It wasn't a child crying, it was a cat."

The cat's meow sounds very much like a child's cry.

Where did the cat come from on the beach?

Jiang Shuyin thoroughly searched the vicinity and followed the sound to a luxurious villa from which the sound was coming from.

Looking around, I realized that the homeowner must be someone of high status to be able to afford to live in this place.

It is the richest people who can most easily fulfill their perverse desires.

Several scenes from horror movies flashed through her mind.

She sensed through her mental energy that no one was in the house, and she couldn't identify the creatures underground, but there were many of them.

The thought was terrifying, sending a chill down her spine.

“Not inside.” Xie Yin walked behind her.

Neither of them turned on their flashlights and walked in the dark.

Upon entering the master bedroom, the volume reached its maximum, as if separated only by a few meters of concrete floor.

The underground space must have been soundproofed; if her facial features hadn't been magnified, she wouldn't have been able to hear the crying.

Where is the switch?

She reached out and touched the bedroom light switch.

One press—

It's still black.

The areas affected by the flood have long been without water and electricity.

Suddenly, a strange light shone.

The purple ambient light is an LED tube.

Standing in the corners on both sides, it probably has a battery inside, so it can light up even without being plugged in.

Light from above.

Xie Yin withdrew his hand, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes.

Jiang Shuyin's gaze moved up and down before she finally lowered her head.

She now understood why some hotels had colored lights in their couples' private rooms.

The angular features of the adult man were clearly projected onto the wall by the light, his shoulders broad and straight, his figure tall and upright, his profile expressionless, clear and indifferent.

In addition, his identity adds to the mystique.

Jiang Shuyin suddenly felt an itch in her throat.

"This lamp makes you look beautiful." In Xie Yin's eyes, she was like the most dazzling nebula in the universe.

The crying from underground continued. Jiang Shuyin felt this wasn't the time for flirting, so she coughed lightly and changed the subject: "Let's find the switch first. Is there anyone down there?"

What she really wanted to ask was, "Is it scary?"

Xie Yin: "It's not scary. The cat and its owner are both still alive."

Jiang Shuyin was unaware of this.

She searched for the light switch near the bed, and carefully checked the walls and floor. She had never played escape room games before and had very little experience.

Seeing her running around busily, Xie Yin asked, "Do you need any help?"

Jiang Shuyin slapped her forehead. She had a super cheat code by her side, so she might as well let him handle this trivial matter that didn't involve principles.

Xie Yin instructed her: "Now focus all your attention on your brain, let your mental power replace your eyes to see the underground structure, and follow the lines to find the switch."

Jiang Shuyin suddenly realized what he meant, closed her eyes, and did as he said.

His mental energy was still a tangled mess, as messy as an earphone cord pulled out of his pocket.

After much effort, she found the end of the thread and led it underground. With the speed carefully controlled, she saw people and cats locked in cages underground and was stunned into silence.

Xie Yin: "Focus, let's do it again, concentrate."

Jiang Shuyin temporarily put aside her emotions, and this time, she slowed down.

After venturing underground, they found the stairs and door connecting the upper and lower levels, and then followed the clues to find the switch connected by wires.

It turns out to be the ambient light on the left.

The light bulb can only move up and down, and even after moving it up and down, the switch still doesn't turn on.

At this point, Jiang Shuyin had plenty of patience.

After going up and down nine times in a row, the floor trembled slightly, revealing an entrance two meters wide.

The meows were coming from inside, very clear, and you could tell just by listening that there was more than one inside.

Jiang Shu held her breath and walked down, already smelling the stench.

Seeing the actual scene below, she raised her hand behind her and said, "Don't come down yet."

Xie Yin stopped at the entrance.

There is a cage in the underground chamber containing not only seven cats, but also a person hiding in the shadows.

The figure was thin and had long, greasy hair that was matted into strands.

The cage contained a large amount of excrement, and the smell was so unpleasant that it was impossible to approach.

The man had his head buried in his chest and didn't react to the person who came.

Jiang Shuyin: "Why were you locked up here?"

The man shuddered violently, his whole body shaking, his breathing rapid like asthma.

The cats' meows grew increasingly shrill, and they were very hostile towards Jiang Shuyin.

Seeing that she didn't speak, Jiang Shuyin didn't ask any more questions: "I'll open the cage. If you're going out, remember to head north."

I'd rather not take those 10 honor points.

"Ah—ah—" The woman suddenly lunged at the cage, punching it repeatedly as if she felt no pain: "Ahhhhh."
